They are spending their savings and passing it to the next generation before they die. I’m a boomer. I have paid for my children’s Home down payments, car down payments, home improvements and help with their children’s expenses. I pay their daycare and medical expenses. This may sound like spoiling them but my children are hard working professionals that manage their money very well. I figure they will inherit my money when I’m gone so I may as well get to enjoy seeing the relief it gives them now. I know from taking to friends that a lot of boomers do this.
