Beyond the comments on Crenshaw (being ex-military doesn’t make you smart on military matters as I witnessed in my time in the military), I am surprised at the outcry that our military cannot recover from such actions as those by Tuberville. First off, an acting commander can still command. In war if the commander is killed, then the XO takes over. Am I missing something? Also, for Colonels not getting promoted, there was, at least in the Army, a process call “frocking.” The Colonel would get to wear the star while waiting for Congressional approval, if placed in an assignment “requiring” a general officer to fill it. In short, there are so many work arounds already in place that all the “woe is me” stuff is theater by the libs not getting their way. P.S. I love Texas, but they sure elect some foul balls with distressing frequency.
