The US is not mentioned in prophecy because most of the prophecies are already fulfilled 2,000 years before the US ever existed. Preterism for the win !!!

Sounds right to me.

In a nuclear war, the large and many of the medium sized cities will all be hit. So people on the roads and in small towns will have the opportunity to seek out fallout shelters. If a shelter is within the 1,000 rads/hr footprint of a large city, and its occupants stay inside for 29 days, the book says its occupants can flee to a safer area while only receiving 1 rad/hr. That sounds sweet. The problem is that when the warheads fly all of the 106 nuclear power plants East of the Rocky Mountains will melt like Chernobyl and Fukushima did, only there will be no one around to stop them from continuing to melt. Each plant will heavily contaminate an area half the size of Pennsylvania. So when people walk out of their carefully constructed shelters, the ground all around them will still be at 1,000 rads/hr for hundreds of years, and the people in the small towns that avoided the original warheads will all be long since dead. The people West of the Rockies will fare no better because 99% of them live in large population centers. The geography of the US protects it from conventional war, but poor leadership has made it helpless to nuclear war. FEMA has a contingency plan to handle a nuclear terrorist attack on a single city. But no government agency has established any plan to help its citizens in the event of a nuclear war.
