Thus you shall not show pity: life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.” – Deut. 19:18-21

Serious enough that God says, “you shall not show pity”

By God’s Law, the false accuser is to receive the same punishment the accused would’ve received if they were guilty. It’s a very serious crime. In this case, the swatter would be due the death penalty.
