Mike McCaul, the Republican chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, pulls no punches in its critique of the Biden-Harris administration’s disastrous handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal. This 600-page document meticulously dissects the military’s botched exit in 2021, revealing a shocking level of mismanagement that raises serious questions about the administration’s competence and motives.

Is this just another example of “Politics as Usual,” or is there something more sinister at play?

Now, after seemingly rushing to abandon Afghanistan, the report draws a direct line between President Biden’s past as a senator during the Vietnam War and his current foreign policy blunders. It highlights a “pattern of callous foreign policy positions and readiness to abandon strategic partners,” suggesting that this administration is not just inept but also dangerously reckless. The report challenges Biden’s claim that he was bound by the Doha agreement made by former President Trump, asserting that he had the authority to act differently. It exposes the glaring truth that state officials had no viable plan to evacuate Americans and allies while troops were still on the ground to protect them.

“pattern of callous foreign policy positions and readiness to abandon strategic partners” – Texas Rep. Mike McCaul

The findings are damning. NATO allies expressed their vehement opposition to the U.S. withdrawal, with the British Chief of the Defense staff warning that “withdrawal under these circumstances would be perceived as a strategic victory for the Taliban.”

Yet, Biden’s administration chose to ignore these warnings, keeping Zalmay Khalilzad, a Trump appointee, in place as a special representative to Afghanistan. This move signaled an endorsement of the very deal that sidelined the Afghan government, leaving them vulnerable to the Taliban’s resurgence.

Col. Seth Krummrich, chief of staff for Special Operations Command, revealed the administration’s stubbornness: “The president decided we’re going to leave, and he’s not listening to anybody.”

This refusal to heed advice from military leaders and intelligence officials raises the question: was this a calculated decision, or sheer incompetence?

“withdrawal under these circumstances would be perceived as a strategic victory for the Taliban.” – British Chief of the Defense staff

The report also highlights the State Department’s failure to act on clear warning signs that the Taliban were gaining ground. Instead of scaling back its embassy presence, the State Department built it up, demonstrating a shocking lack of foresight. Brian McKeon, Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, infamously stated, “we at the State Department have a much higher risk tolerance than you guys,” a comment that Gen. Austin Miler, the longest-serving commander in Afghanistan, countered with a stark observation of “a lack of understanding of the risk.”

“The president decided we’re going to leave, and he’s not listening to anybody.” – Col. Seth Krummrich

As the situation deteriorated, former Afghanistan Ambassador Ross Wilson was “comfortable” delaying the noncombatant evacuation operation (NEO) until the Taliban had already taken control. Gen. Frank McKenzie described this as the “fatal flaw that created what happened in August.” The chaos that ensued left many Americans and allies stranded, with the U.S. government providing little guidance on evacuation procedures. The only advice given was to “not travel to the airport until you have been informed by email that departure options exist.”

“immaterial” – Ned Price

The report paints a harrowing picture of the final days in Kabul, with Consul General Jim DeHart describing the scene as “apocalyptic.”

As the Taliban advanced, U.S. intelligence tracked multiple threats, yet the administration failed to act decisively. CENTCOM records revealed that the same ISIS-K terror cell responsible for the Abbey Gate bombing had “established a base of operations located six kilometers to the west” of the airport, yet no preemptive strikes were made.

“apocalyptic.” – Jim DeHart

The long-term consequences of this withdrawal are staggering. The Taliban not only gained access to $7 billion in abandoned U.S. weapons but also up to $57 million in U.S. funds initially allocated to the Afghan government. Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Taliban’s interior minister, has since declared that relations with the U.S. are “irrelevant” to their policymaking. Meanwhile, a NATO report indicates that the Taliban is using U.S. military biometric devices to hunt down former Afghan allies, with “nearly 500 former government officials and members of the Afghan security forces were killed or forcibly disappeared.”

“nearly 500 former government officials and members of the Afghan security forces were killed or forcibly disappeared.” – NATO report

The human cost is staggering, with reports of 118 girls sold as child brides since the takeover and families waiting for buyers. The Department of Homeland Security has identified “more than 400 persons of interest from Central Asia who had illegally crossed the U.S. southern border with the help of an ISIS-related smuggling network,” raising further concerns about national security.

“118 girls have been sold as child brides since the takeover and 116 families are waiting for a buyer.” – Report

The Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal is not just a failure; it is a glaring example of political negligence that has left countless lives in jeopardy. As we approach the 2024 election, one must ask: will the American people hold this administration accountable for its catastrophic decisions? The stakes have never been higher.

More Scandal: Tim Walz Lied on 20th Anniversary of 9/11 About His Time in Afghanistan https://americanconservativemovement.com/more-scandal-tim-walz-lied-on-20th-anniversary-of-9-11-about-his-time-in-iraq-and-afghanistan/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/more-scandal-tim-walz-lied-on-20th-anniversary-of-9-11-about-his-time-in-iraq-and-afghanistan/#comments Mon, 12 Aug 2024 03:55:31 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=210395 (America First Report)—Minnesota Governor and Democrat VP nominee Tim Walz is a liar. His service as a member of the National Guard was fruitful… just not nearly as exciting as he makes it out to be.

The latest odd and confusing tale comes from a resurfaced speech he delivered on September 11, 2021; a PDF is available on the Minnesota government website. It was the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. An interesting segment of his speech stood out for two reasons. Here is the portion in question [emphasis added]:

In the years after that classroom, I had the privilege of serving in this state’s national guard. I stood one night in the dark of night on the tarmac at Bagram Air Base in Iraq and watched a military ramp ceremony–a soldier’s body being loaded onto a plane to be returned home. And if you’ve seen it, you don’t leave the same. It makes you wonder, what are we doing? What are we trying to get to? And then watching as all of you have been, the confusing last few weeks with the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.

There are two problems with his statement. By saying that he had the privilege of serving in the National Guard and then telling the story of watching a military ramp ceremony implies that the two are related. That was his intention, otherwise he would have noted his time in Congress during which he attended a military ramp ceremony as a member of a delegation. Instead, he wanted listeners to believe he was with the National Guard while in the Middle East watching the ceremony.

Here’s the video of Walz giving the speech itself. He doesn’t just mention being in the National Guard before telling of the military ramp ceremony. He took it a step further by talking of the “guilt” he felt in being able to come home knowing so many others didn’t, insinuating that he had “come home” from deployment in the Middle East, which never actually happened.

The second error in his speech, which was written but not spoken, was saying the air base is in Iraq. Bagram Air Base is in Afghanistan. Details matter, especially when speaking from a position of authority on a matter.

As 𝕏 user @amuse noted:

Tim Walz Iraq

Shore News Network noted:

After many examples of Walz claiming either directly or indirectly that he is a war veteran who saw combat, the Democrat party and the mainstream media continue covering for him.

However, the incident underscores the delicate nature of discussing military service, especially in the context of solemn remembrances like those for 9/11.

While the controversy may fade, it highlights the intense scrutiny faced by public figures, especially when it comes to their service records. For Walz, a simple slip of the tongue or a minor factual error turned into a significant political issue.

Don’t believe it? Download the full pdf here.

If this was an isolated incident, we could give him the benefit of the doubt that he simply failed to transition between mentioning being in the military and telling the story about Bagram. But Walz has demonstrated multiple times that he intentionally keeps his service record hazy at best, distorted at worst. He has implied seeing combat, which he never did. He has claimed to be retired with a rank that he lost. He pretends he didn’t know about deploying to Iraq before retirement despite many of those around him at the time debunking him.

Tim Walz is a liar and a bad one at that. We should appreciate his willingness to serve his country. But if he cannot properly communicate what his service record really is, how can he be trusted to be a heartbeat away from the presidency?

Report: Taliban Visited North Korea Seeking Nuclear Weapons https://americanconservativemovement.com/report-taliban-visited-north-korea-seeking-nuclear-weapons/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/report-taliban-visited-north-korea-seeking-nuclear-weapons/#comments Sun, 07 Jan 2024 17:54:50 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=200155 (WND)—The Taliban in Afghanistan, who took control of the nation when Joe Biden abruptly withdrew American military personnel, leaving behind thousands of civilians and billions of dollars worth of American war machinery, now reportedly are seeking access to nuclear weapons.

Biden a few years ago abruptly pulled American troops out of the troubled nation in a scheme that cost more than a dozen American lives.

Then the Taliban took over control, gaining access to war machinery that the U.S. had stockpiled there for years.

On the Americans’ exit, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani fled and the Taliban declared victory, taking control of all parts of the government.

Congressional leaders called Biden’s plan an “unmitigated disaster.” Now a report from the Middle East Media Research Institute reveals the Taliban’s interest in nukes.

It reported, “The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA, i.e., the Afghan Taliban) is caught in an international controversy after it has come to light that an eight-member official Taliban delegation secretly visited North Korea to discuss cooperation on nuclear weapons technology.”

The report said it’s not been noticed much, but Afghanistan “has a long-standing nuclear energy program that was taken over by the Taliban mujahideen when they took control of Afghanistan in August 2021.”

“I have reports indicating that a group of the Taliban is looking into how to access tactical nuclear weapons. Whether they can get them from Pakistan or pay engineers to get them. That is going to be a disaster,” explained Rahmatullah Nabil, the former chief of the Afghanistan’s intelligence agency, the National Directorate of Security, said at a recent conference.

MEMRI noted, “Since Nabil belongs to the camp of the Taliban’s political opponents, his comments were not taken seriously by many. However, on December 26, 2023, Sami Yousafzai, a senior Afghan journalist known for authoritative reports on Afghanistan and Pakistan, tweeted that the Taliban rulers are attempting to acquire nuclear weapons, and several Western intelligence agencies, alerted by Nabil’s comment, have launched investigations into the Taliban’s connections to North Korea.”

The delegation reportedly included multiple leaders from the Taliban’s ministry of defense as well as Maulvi Abdul Rasheed Munib, the security chief of Kandahar.

There was much secrecy around the reported visit, and Taliban officials have remained silent.

The report noted Afghanistan’s neighbors, Iran, Russia, Pakistan, and China, all are friendly with Afghanistan and Russia, Pakistan and China all have such weapons.

After the Afghanistan Withdrawal, Biden Has Banked On Volunteers to Rescue Americans From War Zones https://americanconservativemovement.com/after-the-afghanistan-withdrawal-biden-has-banked-on-volunteers-to-rescue-americans-from-war-zones/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/after-the-afghanistan-withdrawal-biden-has-banked-on-volunteers-to-rescue-americans-from-war-zones/#comments Mon, 04 Dec 2023 07:51:13 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=199042 DCNF(Daily Caller)—The Biden administration increasingly relies on skilled U.S. military veterans and volunteers to provide critical services for Americans stuck in areas struck suddenly by chaos, people involved in the help and rescue efforts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Groups composed of U.S. military veterans, often former special operators, jumped in to help ferry Afghan allies out of Afghanistan after seeing that the Biden administration abandoned thousands during the country’s collapse to the Taliban. After successive crises leaving Americans stranded in conflict zones — in UkraineSudan and now Israel — these groups have come to fill in gaps where the U.S. government lacks the resources, authorities or will to step in and bring U.S. citizens to safety, group representatives and experts told the DCNF.

“I think it might become more of a standard for conflict areas where a lot of Americans are and there’s a difficulty getting out,” Mick Mulroy, a former deputy assistant secretary of defense for the Middle East and retired CIA paramilitary operations officer, who also worked on Afghanistan evacuations, told the DCNF. “In Afghanistan, it was a matter of ones personal integrity to keep our word.”

Volunteer-enabled evacuations have taken place in Sudan and Ukraine since the 2021 Afghanistan withdrawal. In Israel, the circumstances were different; there was no army overrunning the country despite Hamas’ initial invasion and flights out, though limited, were still available.

In Gaza, “the ability to get people out was so contingent diplomacy that only the U.S. government and the Israeli government in official channels could engage in,” a State Department official with knowledge of the matter told the DCNF. “I don’t think the groups really were able to play the same kind of role in the situation that they were in the past.”

If the situation further deteriorates — if sparks on the northern border spiral into a full-on war between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, for example — they will play an important supplemental role in arranging transportation for Americans to evacuate them from danger, Mulroy predicted.

“Should we have to do this? I don’t think so. Should there be a need for us to do this? I also don’t think so. But we do have to do it,” Tim Kennedy, a U.S. Army Special Forces master sergeant and sniper, told the DCNF.

Kennedy is co-founder of Save Our Allies (SOA), an organization that originated during the Afghanistan withdrawal to rescue members of the Afghan security forces who partnered with the U.S. military and received promises of safety in America. SOA and another veteran-run organization, the Special Operations Association of America (SOAA), worked together at times to evacuate Americans from Israel.

Both groups describe themselves as nonpartisan and have active duty military members on their boards, their websites show. They fill in gaps where the U.S. government cannot operate, and Washington did not recruit or pay them to carry out humanitarian and rescue activities, group leaders and experts told the DCNF. The U.S. has not deployed special operations units in Israel for rescue and recovery or combat operations.

“That would fall into the purview of different organizations that have paramilitary units that are able to do that. There’s no Title 10 money — Congress hasn’t said we’re going to authorize the use of these types of groups to go and do this thing,” Kennedy told the DCNF.

“It falls into into a gray zone, that gray zone is a gap and that gap is where Americans effectively are trapped,” he added. “Not that I want to go into every war zone, but when it comes to Americans, I cannot stand by and let horrific things happen to Americans or our allies.”

Kennedy said one of his advantages was his ability to leverage contacts in defense contracting firms, the State Department and non-governmental organizations built up during his career in the military. In addition, SOA manages ground teams who do the footwork of helping Americans — performing route reconnaissance, filling out paperwork, securing transportation and moving people from one point to another without ambiguity.

“What we were doing was helping those people that were trapped there, get out. So that was in some instances as a liaison between the Department of State, the Egyptian government, the Israeli government [or] the NGO to the military, DOD or [Department of State] counterparts on the United States’ side to help streamline the evacuation of these people,” Kennedy said.

One example is Adam Friedrich, a pastor from Orange, California, who was on vacation in Israel with his elderly father. The two were visiting Jerusalem when the 3,000 Hamas terrorists attacked, and decided they needed to get home earlier than their planned leave date, he told the DCNF. Five airlines canceled flights out of Tel Aviv on them, and by that time Friedrich had maxed out his credit card.

The State Department told Friedrich, like other U.S. citizens wishing to get home, to “put your name on a list, and we’ll get in touch with you,” he told the DCNF.

The State Department relies on sending warnings to U.S. citizens in crisis zones for ensuring their safety as the situation heats up. It has warned U.S. citizens against traveling to IsraelLebanon and Iraq since the Oct. 7 attacks and subsequent escalation in hostilities involving anti-U.S. entities in the region.

In the worst cases, when no commercial transportation is available, the State Department might help Americans identify and potentially arrange options, but only if the agency has embassy personnel on the ground to do so, according to a Q&A on the agency’s travel website.

But, a U.S. government evacuation of roughly half a million U.S. citizens is effectively a nonstarter, Mulroy explained to the DCNF. The massive military-assisted Afghanistan evacuation airlifted roughly 120,000 from a conflict zone.

SOA arranged transportation for Friedrich and his father to the small Haifa airport on the other side of the country, where the pastor just had to confirm his identity to easily bypass security guards and barricades, he told the DCNF. Another operative met the two, shepherding them on board a charter plane to Cyprus.

“That morning the operator has called me and he said, ‘Is this Adam Friedrich?’ I said, ‘Yes it is.’ He goes, ‘Today it’s going to be an easy day,’” Friedrich said.

“I mean, if you had known the amount of pressure and we’ve been trying to just trying to get a flight has been so difficult … to hear someone say it with that kind of confidence ….” he told the DCNF.

The two organizations also supported State Department and international efforts to extract U.S. citizens from Gaza, although the security and diplomatic situation restricted their impact, The Washington Post reported. Five women, all aid workers hunkered in a U.N. compound in Gaza since the unrelenting Israeli air bombardment commenced on Hamas targets in the strip, were among the first tranche of Americans allowed to exit through the Rafah border crossing.

The organizations taught the women survival techniques, sorted through rumors about ongoing efforts to secure their exit and made sure their names appeared on the list of those permitted entry into Egypt, one of the workers, Emily Callahan, told the Post.

SOA and SOAA dispatched teams of about two dozen total members to Israel and Egypt following the Oct. 7 terrorist attacks on Israel based on those individuals prior experiences working with the countries, Alex Plitsas, an SOAA board member and spokesperson who helped coordinate evacuation efforts, told the Post.

They ended up evacuating about 240 U.S. citizens, David Cook, SOAA’s executive director, told the DCNF.

On Nov. 1, the five Americans and foreign NGO workers successfully made it out of Gaza, Plitsas said. “You’re scared to even move that anybody’s gonna see you that you could be attacked. Save Our Allies, what they did, not only in Israel, but what they also did in Afghanistan, and Ukraine and others is actually get those people and bring them to their port of exit,” Friedrich told the DCNF.

SOAA volunteers saw themselves as enablers for the United Nations, other NGOs and the local Palestinians who threaded pathway to the Rafah gate connecting southern Gaza and Egypt once the U.S. and international partners negotiated for its opening, the Post reported. They steered clear of tasks like hostage rescue operations that strayed too far into government territory.

“We are grateful for the assistance private organizations and NGOs provide to all individuals who are exiting Gaza including assisting U.S. citizens get to safety,” a State Department spokesperson told the DCNF.

The Agency coordinated with the Egyptian government and positioned embassy personnel outside the Rafah gate with chartered transportation for U.S. citizens, the spokesperson added.

“Unfortunately, this isn’t our first rodeo. Throughout the three crises that we’ve worked together on in the last … two years, you gain a lot of trust,” Cook said.

Cooperation with the host nation can also end up complicating State Department efforts further, Amy Mitchell, a former DoD and State Department senior official who is now founding partner at Kilo Alpha Strategies and on the advisory board of the Vandenberg Coalition, told the DCNF.

“These are not organizations or governments the U.S. has friendly relationships with. That is why we are seeing an uptick in these nonprofit groups — they can and do work in that gray space that the U.S. government cannot by utilizing civil society networks and organizations to rescue Americans and partners,” Mitchell said.

“State Department tacit approval allows the groups to continue their work,” she added. Involvement from volunteer organizations may not always be positive, experts cautioned, although the U.S. government appears postured to cooperate with the groups. Critics have pummeled the Biden administration for contributing to the circumstances that put Americans and allies in dangerous positions.

Kennedy also characterized the need for groups like his as “strategic level policy failures.” “The passion many have shown publicly again points to the failure we are currently experiencing at multiple levels of government ,and because of this administration’s foreign policy decisions,” Mitchell said.

If the organizations are “viewed as being antagonistic to the U.S. mission, that they’re probably gonna not be as helpful as they could be,” Mulroy told the DCNF.

Taliban Killed, Tortured and Imprisoned Hundreds of Afghans Who Sided With US, Report Finds https://americanconservativemovement.com/taliban-killed-tortured-and-imprisoned-hundreds-of-afghans-who-sided-with-us-report-finds/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/taliban-killed-tortured-and-imprisoned-hundreds-of-afghans-who-sided-with-us-report-finds/#comments Thu, 24 Aug 2023 09:34:19 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=195951 DCNFThe Taliban has killed hundreds of Afghan former military, security and government officials since the U.S.-backed government fell to the insurgents two years ago, the United Nations said in a report released Tuesday.

Taliban leader Amir al-Mu’minin verbally granted amnesty to Afghans who aided the U.S. and allied militaries in their 20-year war to stamp out Islamist insurgents, but instead have retaliated against former Army and security personnel, the investigation found. At least 200 were arbitrarily killed and hundreds more subjected to torture, disappearances and imprisonment outside of legal proceedings between Aug. 15, 2021 and June 30, 2023, the U.N.’s humanitarian arm in Afghanistan said.

A “climate of fear” exists among former government officials and members of the Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF), the U.N. Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) wrote in the report.

“Members of the de facto authorities continue to perpetrate, or fail to respond to, human rights violations that are carried out with apparent impunity,” UNAMA said. “The de facto authorities’ failure to fully uphold their publicly stated commitment and to hold perpetrators of human rights violations to account may have serious implications for the future stability of Afghanistan.”

Tens of thousands of former government and security officials and Afghan National Army soldiers remain in Afghanistan who, for various reasons, have not joined the scramble of Afghans fleeing the country since the Taliban takeover in August 2021, according to The Wall Street Journal. No country has recognized the Taliban as a legitimate government.

UNAMA documented more than half of the extrajudicial killings in the four months since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, and an additional 70 in 2022. In most cases, investigators were unable to track down the member or branch of the de facto government perpetrating the killings.

More than 144 individuals reported experiencing torture and abuse at the hands of the de facto authorities, including beatings with pipes and cables and treatment leading to loss of consciousness, in order to force confessions of working for the former government or ANDSF.

Taliban officials have promised to investigate incidents and have arrested suspected perpetrators, but the investigation found little evidence of a dedicated effort to systematically enforce the promise of general amnesty.

When acknowledging a killing, the Taliban has in many cases passed it off to the U.N. as motivated by “personal enmity or revenge” and not done on official orders, according to the report.

UNAMA provided a draft of the report to the Taliban’s foreign ministry, which shared it with relevant governing bodies. The response reiterated the Taliban’s commitment to amnesty.

“Until now, no case of non-compliance with the order of general amnesty of Amir al-Mu’minin has been received. In case any official or security and defense institution of the Islamic Emirate has violated the decree of amnesty, the matter will be officially investigated, and the perpetrators will be introduced to the judicial authorities for prosecution,” the Taliban said.

Betrayer-in-Chief Forces Family to Pay $60,000 to Ship Body of Marine Killed During Regime’s Botched Afghanistan Withdrawal https://americanconservativemovement.com/betrayer-in-chief-forces-family-to-pay-60000-to-ship-body-of-marine-killed-during-regimes-botched-afghanistan-withdrawal/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/betrayer-in-chief-forces-family-to-pay-60000-to-ship-body-of-marine-killed-during-regimes-botched-afghanistan-withdrawal/#comments Wed, 26 Jul 2023 14:40:24 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=195173 As billions of American taxpayer dollars are filtered through Ukrainian aid into the pockets of oligarchs, the Biden-Harris regime’s Pentagon forced the family of a heroic U.S. Marine killed during combat to pay $60,000 to ship her body home.

The family of Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee wanted her remains to finally rest at Arlington National Cemetery but were shocked to learn of a new policy change in Biden’s Pentagon that put the burden on them. Republican Congressman Cory Mills, a veteran, brought the news to light after hearing the report from families.

Mills’ office noted that the defense department was allowed to decline to pay for the transportation of Gee’s body due to last year’s change to the National Defense Authorization Act.

Honoring Our Fallen, a non-profit that helps families of fallen American service members, covered the cost of having Gee’s body transported.

While this atrocity from the regime is just the latest example showing how they hate actual American heroes while adoring transvestites in Ecuador, it should also act as a reminder to all Americans. We must be as self-sufficient as possible. Rely on government for nothing that’s not absolutely within their realm of control. They should do little more than defend the border and fix potholes. Unfortunately, they’re sadly inept at both.

Sound off about this story on The Liberty Daily’s Substack. Here’s the news reported from Truth Based Media:

Gold Star Family Forced to Raise $60,000 to Get the Body of Their U.S. Marine Hero Home From Afghanistan

Republican lawmaker and Army veteran Cory Mills from Florida has raised a serious concern about the treatment of Gold Star families following the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan. One of the 13 Gold Star families, the family of Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, faced an unexpected financial burden after her death in Afghanistan in 2021.

During a meeting with the families of the “Fallen 13,” Rep. Mills was deeply angered to discover that the Department of Defense had imposed a substantial financial responsibility on Sgt. Gee’s family. They were compelled to arrange and finance the transportation of her body to its final resting place, a cost that amounted to an astonishing $60,000. Fortunately, a nonprofit organization stepped in to cover the expenses on behalf of the Gee family.

This situation arose due to an amendment to last year’s National Defense Authorization Act, which granted the Defense Department the option to decline payment for the transportation of deceased military members’ remains who died within a theater of combat operations. Consequently, while Sgt. Gee’s remains were flown to her hometown in Roseville, California, for a ceremony, her family had to bear the responsibility and expenses to transport her to Arlington National Cemetery for the final burial.

To assist the Gee family, Honoring Our Fallen, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the families of fallen American service members, offered their help by arranging a private jet to transport Sgt. Gee to Virginia. However, Rep. Mills believes that the financial burden should not fall on the families of fallen heroes. He expressed his deep disappointment at the situation, emphasizing that fallen heroes are traditionally flown back home with respect and honor for a solemn service, and then laid to rest at Arlington Cemetery.

Rep. Mills calls the current situation an “egregious injustice” that requires immediate rectification. He firmly believes that the responsibility of honoring fallen service members should lie with the Defense Department, relieving grieving families of any financial strain during their time of mourning.

Despite inquiries, the Pentagon has yet to respond to Fox News’ request for comment on this matter.

What’s NOT a priority for most in DC, whether Democrat or Republican, is helping the struggling American people or preventing a recession that seems to be just around the corner. Instead, they’ve sent more taxpayer dollars to “aid” Ukraine against Russian than we spent on the first FIVE YEARS of the war in Afghanistan. According to Fox News:

The Biden administration and lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have pledged to counter Russia’s war in Ukraine and the threat it poses to European security, and the funds so far committed to Kyiv already exceed U.S. costs for the first five years in Afghanistan.

The Biden administration on Friday announced another $400 million military drawdown package to Ukraine as it attempts to fend off Russian advances.

The latest package was reportedly tailored in coordination with Ukrainian officials for what they specifically need on the front lines and comes just days after Russian President Vladimir Putin claimed victory over the eastern Luhansk region.

Heavy artillery like howitzers and High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS) are among the big-ticket items that Ukraine has said it needs to target Russian command and control hotspots that sit behind the front lines.

One can and should question the need to invade Afghanistan. One can definitely question the decisions made year after year after year to remain there. But there should be no question about the waste of money in Ukraine. It’s just that: a waste. Perhaps one could argue that the money is being used to stop Russia from winning their war, but at a time when millions of Americans are unable to put food on the table or travel from point A to point B, can we really afford to be throwing money at what is almost certainly a lost cause?

Supporting the Ukrainian people who have had their lives turned upside down is understandable, but the money being sent there isn’t being used for humanitarian aid. Instead, it’s being used to fuel a Nazi-infested military and a corrupt government without anyone actually knowing how the dollars are being used. There have only been minor anecdotal “victories” to “justify” the massive aid we’ve sent, and tremendous victories by the Russian military have overshadowed those. Ukraine is losing despite our efforts. Non-interventionists are arguing that we’re actually hurting the Ukrainian people by prolonging the war.

Regardless of where one stands on the Russian invasion, it’s crystal clear our aid is misplaced at best and feeding corruption at worst. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky continues to exercise the use of the blank check Washington DC has given him.
