Democracy PAC, the primary conduit through which the Soros family shuffles its wealth into electoral politics, spent roughly $40 million after the WSJ reported that George Soros had passed the reins on to his son, campaign finance records show. The PAC’s spending under Alex Soros signals somewhat of a departure from how his father operated it, with less focus on criminal justice and a greater emphasis on helping Democrats keep the White House.

“I’m more political,” the younger Soros told the WSJ in 2023, comparing himself to his father. “As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too.”

Outside groups aligned with the Democratic Party spent over $1.7 billion during the 2020 election, whereas conservative groups spent considerably less, totaling around $1.5 billion, according to OpenSecrets’ analysis of campaign finance records.

Democracy PAC has sent $10 million to Future Forward PAC since the WSJ reported that Alex Soros had taken over, per Federal Election Commission (FEC) records. President Joe Biden’s campaign in 2020 anointed Future Forward to serve as the primary super PAC to boost the Democratic presidential effort, and the operation has since pivoted to support Vice President Kamala Harris after Biden dropped out, according to multiple outlets.

George Soros appeared less interested in using Democracy PAC to play presidential politics than his son, having given Future Forward PAC just $1 million during the same period in the 2020 election, according to FEC filings. The Soros patriarch did, however, personally donate roughly $500,000 to boost Biden during 2020, which is still less than the $721,000 Alex donated that year, campaign finance records show.

Democracy PAC is not the only way the Soros family injects money into politics. Open Society Foundations, the philanthropic network founded by George Soros and now headed by his son, has poured tens of millions of dollars into left-of-center activist groups that have worked to prevent former President Donald Trump from winning elections.

The Soros heir also seems less interested in criminal justice than his father, having only distributed about $1.1 million to groups focused on the issue through Democracy PAC since June 2023, FEC records show. His father, meanwhile, had already sent out over $5.6 million in disbursements through Democracy PAC to criminal justice-focused groups during the same period in the 2020 election cycle.

Alex Soros even moved $60 million out of the Fund for Policy Reform, a criminal justice nonprofit within the Open Society Foundations network, and into Democracy PAC back in January, according to campaign finance records.

In addition to using Democracy PAC to bankroll the implementation of their criminal justice agenda, the Soros family has also contributed directly to some causes in the area. These payments appear to be drying up under Alex Soros as well, however, as no one in the Soros family has made direct payments to California Justice & Public Safety PAC, the committee tasked with electing what George Soros dubbed “reform prosecutors” in the state, this election cycle.

The younger Soros and his father show some similarities in how they have led Democracy PAC, disclosures show. In both 2020 and 2024, the PAC donated millions to the Senate Majority PAC and House Majority PAC, committees tasked with electing Democratic candidates to the upper and lower chamber, respectively.

Alex Soros has directed $9.5 million to the pair of committees since June 2023 whereas Democracy PAC, under his father, gave $10 million to the PACs during the same period in 2020, per FEC records.

Under both the elder Soros and his son, Democracy PAC made considerable donations to pro-abortion committees, such as those affiliated with Planned Parenthood, as well as PACs aimed at increasing the presence of women in elected office, according to campaign finance records. The younger Soros explicitly told the WSJ he would continue his father’s legacy of pushing feminism and working to expand access to abortion.

Though Democracy PAC has already spent tens of millions of dollars under the Soros scion, a total of $125 million has been set aside for the committee, according to the WSJ.

The younger Soros, who is cementing his place as a Democratic megadonor, has enjoyed generous access to the White House under the Biden-Harris administration, visiting frequently, according to Fox News Digital’s analysis of visitor logs. Alex Soros has met with high-ranking White House officials like Amanda Sloat, the National Security Council’s senior director for Europe, and Jon Finer, who serves as the principal deputy national security adviser.

A Soros family spokesperson did not respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

One example that has been back in the spotlight was a potential veiled threat made by Alex Soros earlier this year. Alex, who is the son of billionaire globalist George Soros, tweeted a photo of a bullet hole alongside a hand with $47 in cash. Given that Trump will be the 47th president if he wins in November, many interpreted it at the time as a threat against him.

The tweet was sharing an article in the leftist publication The Atlantic featuring the photo with the tagline: “Last year, the crime and inflation crises largely evaporated. So did the leading theories about what had caused them.”

The tweet was instantly met with replies noting that it came across as a death threat against the former president.

The Gateway Pundit published an article about the threat at the time, explaining how Soros and other global elites appeared to be in panic mode as Trump was already leading the polls and threatening their power.

One-sided “fact check” tried to dismiss threat

This prompted USA Today to publish one of its sketchy “fact checks,” going out of its way to try to explain why this was not the threat that so many people interpreted it to be. They claim, for example, that the image of the bullet hole in the glass and the hand holding the money was actually “created from two stock photographs.” That may be technically true, but that does not rule out the possibility that the two images were intentionally chosen for their symbolism.

The Atlantic claims it was not trying to send a message and that it’s all just a coincidence, with spokesperson Anna Bross claiming the allegations it was a threat were “absurd and irresponsible” and Soros insisting he wasn’t making a threat by sharing it.

A spokesperson for the Open Society Foundations, which is chaired by Alex Soros and is the biggest donor to Democrat politicians, stated: “Alex was sharing the positive news that crime and inflation rates are trending downward – developments that should be celebrated by all Americans. Nothing more, nothing less. It’s amazing the lengths to which some people will try to distract and divide the country in the face of objectively good news.”

Hilariously, it was this spokesperson, along with The Atlantic’s spokesperson and the X post by Alex Soros that USA Today cited for its fact check, as if they were somehow neutral sources who could provide an unbiased take on the situation.

Soros called Trump an “existential threat”

Ahead of Joe Biden’s big solo press conference after his embarrassing debate performance in which he further underscored just how far gone his mind is, Soros warned Democrats that they need to unite around Biden in a post on X.

“Let’s stop running against ourselves and run against the existential threat that is Donald Trump! Biden-Harris 2024!” his post read.

Alex has reportedly visited the White House at least 20 times since Biden took office and recently announced his engagement to Huma Abedin, a former aide to Hillary Clinton. Critics believe that he will be “even more radically leftist than his father,” which is a deeply frightening prospect – and one that makes it seem even more likely that he’d want Trump out of the White House at all costs.

Soros, who assumed leadership of the Open Society Foundations from his father, George Soros, held discussions with Ukrainian Foreign Affairs Minister Dmytro Kuleba during the Munich Security Conference in Germany. Their meeting underscored Soros’s unwavering support for Kyiv in its ongoing conflict with Moscow.

In a statement posted on X, Soros urged Western nations to maintain their financial support for Ukraine, emphasizing, “We must not abandon Ukraine.”

Soros has shifted focus of his vast leftwing organization to stop MAGA from winning in 2024. Donald Trump is the originator, face, and de facto leader of the MAGA movement so he’s clearly Soros’ primary target. Trump lumping in accomplice Mitch McConnell was also a nice touch.

In 2024, Donald Trump is fighting Democrats, voter fraud, corporate media, a weaponized DoJ, RINOS, and the Globalist Elite Cabal, for which Alex Soros is one head of that hydra. Trump needs as much of our support as we can give him.

This meeting seems to be his first interaction with federal lawmakers since taking charge of his father’s robust multibillion-dollar nonprofit network, which channels substantial funds into left-wing initiatives. On June 11, OSF announced Alex’s appointment as the head of the organization after George Soros decided not to pass it on to any of his other children. However, George ultimately acknowledged Alex’s merit, stating, “He’s earned it.”

Following the announcement, Alex hosted an event in New York, featuring House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and other prominent Democrats from the Empire State, including Representatives Jerry Nadler, Gregory Meeks, and Pat Ryan. Alex shared details of the event on Instagram, writing, “Back in a New York minute to host distinct members of the New York for hmp with [Rep. Hakeem Jeffries] and members of the New York house delegation, [Rep. Pat Ryan, Rep. Jerry Nadler, Rep. Gregory Meeks, Rep. Ritchie Torres] on their quest to take the back [sic] the 2024 majority! And always supporting the sneaker caucus!”

Since 2018, Alex has consistently posted numerous pictures of himself with leading House and Senate Democrats on his social media profiles. Among them, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California appear most frequently. Alex has had at least nine meetings with Schumer, whom he refers to as his “good friend,” and at least eight visits with Pelosi, whom he praises as the “greatest Speaker of the House in American History!”

Just weeks ago, Alex shared a photo with Vice President Kamala Harris, expressing his pleasure at catching up with her. He has enjoyed extensive access to the Biden White House, and it seems he continues to maintain a direct line of communication as he assumes a leadership role in one of the most prominent liberal foundations in the United States. After handing over control, George Soros stated that they “think alike,” but Alex emphasized his more political approach.

Based on a previous review of visitor logs by Fox News Digital, Alex has visited the White House at least 17 times since 2021. His most recent visits occurred between February 8 and 10. While the logs identify individuals such as Jon Finer, Jordan Finkelstein, and Mariana Adame as those greeting Alex, it remains unclear with whom he met during these sessions. The visitor logs often include White House staff who handle appointments, escort guests, and introduce them to other personnel, making it challenging to determine the intended meeting host.

For example, in January, a White House official confirmed that two of Alex’s past visits were with Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, despite Klain not being listed in the records. Previous inquiries about the nature of Alex’s meetings went unanswered by OSF, and the White House did not respond to similar inquiries.

Alex has also made substantial political donations to Democrats in recent years, albeit on a smaller scale compared to his father. Since the 2018 elections, he has contributed over $5 million to federal political campaigns. His largest contribution during this period, $2 million, was made to the Schumer-aligned Senate Majority PAC. In 2020, Alex donated over $700,000 to the Biden Victory Fund, making him one of its top donors. Additionally, he has provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Nancy Pelosi Victory Fund, Democratic National Committee, and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC). He has also made significant contributions to state Democratic parties and individual campaigns, often reaching the maximum allowable amount.

Alex, who is now 37 years old, sought to establish his own identity separate from his father’s during his time as a Ph.D. student at UC Berkeley by launching the Alexander Soros Foundation. In a 2012 interview with The New York Times, he expressed his desire to avoid being perceived as “just another lazy deadbeat trust fund kid” if he failed to succeed. However, it appears that the foundation has been less prominent compared to his other endeavors.

An OSF spokesperson did not respond to a request for comment regarding Alex’s meetings with Democratic lawmakers.

The board of directors of OSF, which George Soros founded in 1979 and personally led until about a month ago, has approved “significant changes” to the organization’s operating model that require “difficult decisions” and will make the foundation “nimbler,” The Epoch Times has learned.

“The changes are intended to maximize Open Society’s impact in helping to counter the forces currently threatening open and free societies,” said a joint statement released Friday by George Soros’ son and OSF chair, Alexander Soros, and the organization’s president, Mark Malloch-Brown.

While OSF did not immediately respond to a request from The Epoch Times for more details, a spokesperson confirmed to CNN that the “difficult decisions” are job cuts amounting to at least 40 percent of the organization’s global workforce.

OSF employs around 800 people worldwide, with around 320 of those on the chopping block.

George Soros Cedes Control

Barely a month ago, George Soros told The Wall Street Journal that he had ceded control of his $25 billion empire to his 37-year-old son, Alex Soros, who suggested that he would be even more politically engaged than his father.

The Democrat megadonor told the outlet that he initially didn’t want to cede control of the foundation to any member of his family “as a matter of principle.”

However, he said that he and his son “think alike” and that he’s taking over at the helm of the foundation because “he’s earned it.”

Alex Soros told the outlet that he’s “more political” than his father and that he’s worried about the prospect that former President Donald Trump might win the 2024 race for the White House.

“As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too,” he told the Journal, suggesting that the deep pockets of the Soros organization will be deployed to support presidential campaigns opposing Trump.

Alex Soros was quietly elected to the OSF board as its chairman in December 2022. He now directs political activity as president of Soros’s political action committee.

“We are going to double down on defending voting rights and personal freedom at home and supporting the cause of democracy abroad,” a spokesperson for Alex Soros told the Financial Times regarding his priorities for political action.

‘Soros DAs’

George Soros, a Hungarian-born investor worth billions, is a controversial figure in the United States after groups tied to him poured money into left-wing district attorney candidates’ campaigns across the country.

Trump has vowed to target what he and other Republicans have described as “Soros DAs” after being indicted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who reportedly took campaign cash from Soros during the 2021 election.

Responding to an allegation that he backed Bragg, Soros said in March that he’s never met him and didn’t contribute any money to his election bid.

“I think some on the right would rather focus on far-fetched conspiracy theories than on the serious charges against the former president,” he told Semafor.

However, Soros has made clear his backing for certain prosecutors. In an earlier op-ed, he explained why he has donated to “reform-minded prosecutors” and has “no intention of stopping.”

“The funds I provide enable sensible reform-minded candidates to receive a hearing from the public,” he wrote.

“In recent years, reform-minded prosecutors and other law-enforcement officials around the country have been coalescing around an agenda that promises to be more effective and just.”

Soros noted that this includes less-punitive criminal justice policies.

“This agenda includes prioritizing the resources of the criminal-justice system to protect people against violent crime. It urges that we treat drug addiction as a disease, not a crime. And it seeks to end the criminalization of poverty and mental illness,” he wrote.

“This is why I have supported the election (and more recently the re-election) of prosecutors who support reform. I have done it transparently, and I have no intention of stopping.”

Alex Soros’s remarks to the Journal and the Financial Times suggest that the OSF and affiliated groups will continue to press ahead with the agenda charted by George Soros.

OSF President Mark Malloch-Brown recently argued for the adoption of a “new economic order” that would focus on “justice and stability.”

Malloch-Brown said in a speech that if there’s “one watchword for this new framework of global governance, it must be ‘inclusivity,’” and along with it, “a multilateralism that has the roots and staying power for the new world that we are going into.”

He said a challenge of this new world would be whether collective rights supersede individual rights and whether “the interest of the state to build that green transition, provide inclusive growth means that it’s at the expense of human rights.”

“It’s not at all clear where that battle lands, as it’s not at all clear where the battle for democracy lands,” Malloch-Brown said.

Some critics of the work of OSF have argued that its political agenda leans too far to the left.

George Soros Skips Former ‘Heir Apparent’ — Hands Reins of Empire to ‘More Political’ Son Alex

George Soros is handing control of his $25 billion empire to his son Alex – who in recent years has been seen flying around the world to conduct business on behalf of his family’s Open Society Foundation.

In doing so, the 92-year-old Soros is passing over the family’s one-time ‘heir apparent,’ Jonathan Soros, 52 – the third child from George’s first marriage, and a Harvard-trained lawyer who stabilized the Soros investment firm after a tumultuous period saw several investment chiefs come and go.

“I expected Jonathan to be the one,” said former Open Society Foundation president Aryeh Neier, who ran the organization from 1993 to 2012.

Jonathan Soros thought he was the one as well, telling the Wall Street Journal; “I always knew he could change his mind,” adding “As a trader, it’s the thing he’s most famous for.”

Their differences upended the succession plan. George was impulsive. Jonathan was analytical and contemplative. Jonathan was respectful of George but pushed back when he disagreed with his father’s decisions, according to people who worked with them. When they butted heads about two senior hiring choices, George felt his authority challenged. Jonathan felt undermined.

Looking to keep peace in the family, Jonathan left the Soros’s investment business in 2011, he said. His father soured about picking him to lead the foundation. “We didn’t get on on certain points,” George said. “That became evident to both of us, particularly to him, and he wanted to be out on his own.” -WSJ

“We ended our business relationship on pretty good terms,” said Jonathan of his father. “I was disappointed but not regretful.”

Enter Alex – the oldest of two sons from George’s 2nd wife, Susan Weber, who was elected chairman of the Open Society Foundation in December and is now responsible for directing political activity as president of Soros’ super PAC.

Alex – once an unlikely choice to lead the family – cared little about finance and instead loved football and philosophy. He’s described by the Journal as a once-introverted fat kid who was embarrassed by his family’s wealth who blossomed into a red-shoe wearing party animal.

He cared little about finance and couldn’t persuade his father to watch football. Instead, they spent hours discussing ideas and global politics. His thesis topic, “Jewish Dionysus: Heine, Nietzsche and the Politics of Literature,” thrilled his father. For Alex, “it’s football, philosophy and politics, in that order,” said Svante Myrick, one of his friends. -WSJ

But now, it’s all business.

“I’m more political” said Alex, who recently met with officials from the Biden administration, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and heads of state such as Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to discuss affairs related to the Open Society Foundation – which donates roughly $1.5 billion per year to various causes and groups around the world.

Foundation money also goes to universities and other educational organizations. The Soros super PAC, Democracy PAC, has backed the election campaigns of district attorneys and law-enforcement officials seeking to reduce incarceration rates and racial bias in the justice system, among the efforts that have riled the right.

The selection of Alex, a hip-hop fan and New York Jets devotee, was once a long shot. Early on, Alex barely spoke up in meetings and was best known for his highflying social life. “Gorgeous models, NBA pals and hide-and-seek at his mansion: Welcome to the lavish life of investor George Soros’ playboy son,” said one Daily Mail.com online headline in 2016. -WSJ

Alex is also the sole Soros on the investment committee overseeing Soros Fund Management – which will migrate most of its $25 billion to the Open Society Foundation in the years ahead. Approximately $125 million has been set aside for the super PAC.

Between 2004 and 2006, Alex worked part time at the foundation. According to people who worked there, he didn’t make much of an impression – much less as a likely successor.

“Alex used to come to board meetings, but he hardly spoke,” said Neier.

According to Alex, he’s concerned about the prospect of Donald Trump retaking the White House in 2024 – and has suggested a ‘significant financial role’ for the Soros organization in the effort to defeat him.

“As much as I would love to get money out of politics, as long as the other side is doing it, we will have to do it, too,” he said, as if his Super PAC didn’t employ Marc Elias, the Democrat superlawyer who worked tirelessly to change election laws leading up to the 2020 election.

According to Elon Musk – who recently compared George Soros to supervillain Magneto, the selection of Alex was “just a formality,” as “Alex has been de facto in charge for several years.”

The Journal cites Alex as suggesting that speed had become too constrained on college campuses and elsewhere, saying: “I have some differences with my generation in regard to free speech and other things—I grew up watching Bill Maher before bed, after all.”

It’s easy to see George Soros as a rich guy throwing his money around for the sake of politics like other rich guys, but that’s actually very far from the truth. George Soros is ideologically driven. He believes in controlling situations and achieving goals by putting the right people in the right places. This ideology has been the force behind his promotion of radical District Attorneys across the nation. They find true believers, then help them get elected. It has proven to be more consequential than any political maneuver since the rise of Neoconservatism.

Alex Soros is philosophically driven. This differs from his father’s mentality because it does not require true believers in the movement. It requires control. Where his father has leveraged people he trusts, Alex Soros only trusts people he can leverage.

Open Society Foundation under George Soros has been a powerful force in guiding leftist politics in America and worldwide. Open Society Foundation under Alex Soros is going to take full control of as much political clout as they can access. Alex will be more direct. While George wouldn’t want to be seen with politicians because he wanted his influence to be from the shadows, Alex will force politicians to take press shots with him so everyone knows who their boss really is.

This is the direction that George Soros wanted. Otherwise, he would have selected Jonathan who is more comfortable in the shadows like his father. The fact that he selected Alex means the Soros patriarch has approved plans to take their clout to the next level. This is why I’m so concerned.
