Confidential Pfizer documents leaked by Project Veritas show that Big Pharma had “evidence that suggests patients who received a (COVID-19) vaccine are at an increased risk of myocarditis.”

Meanwhile, heavily redacted CDC documents obtained by the Children’s Health Defense (CHD) via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request indicate that the agency provided an undercounted figure of post-COVID-19 vaccination myocarditis cases to Israel’s Ministry of Health in early 2021.

The latest revelations come as Germany, Japan and other governments are raising questions about the significant numbers of severe adverse events recorded in individuals following the administration of the vaccines.

“This study clearly shows that Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine provides almost no benefit to children and adolescents, but does increase their risk of myocarditis and pericarditis,” said Dr. Brian Hooker, CHD’s chief scientific officer. “It begs the question: Why does the CDC continue to recommend these unlicensed shots for kids? Where is the data they use to support their statement that the benefits of these vaccines outweigh the risks?”

The Pfizer vaccine provided children and teens in England with only about 14 to 15 weeks of protection against the virus, as per a preprint study of over 1.7 million children ages five to 15.

Moreover, researchers investigating the safety and effectiveness of Pfizer’s vaccine in fully vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and unvaccinated children and teens, also found cases of myocarditis and pericarditis only in vaccinated children. The study found that vaccinated children required slightly fewer emergency room visits and hospital stays, but that those outcomes were extremely rare in children and teens across all groups.

COVID-19 vaccine provides almost no benefit to children, study reveals

Public health agencies in the United Kingdom and the U.S. granted authorization to the Pfizer vaccines based on clinical trials that measured immunogenicity and efficacy against infection.

Their research confirmed that even in 2021, when the vaccine was first authorized for children and teens, that age group did not face a high risk for COVID-19-related serious outcomes, including death or the need for emergency care, hospitalization or critical care.

The researchers tested the effectiveness of the first vaccine dose versus no vaccine and of two doses versus a single dose. They matched each vaccinated child with an unvaccinated one, and participants were matched by age, sex, region, prior COVID-19 testing and childhood vaccination status.

Of the 1,262,784 children in the adolescent part of the study, vaccinated and unvaccinated, there were only 72 emergency room visits, 90 COVID-19 hospitalizations and no deaths. There were nine cases of pericarditis and three cases of myocarditis, all in the vaccinated group.

Among all of the children in the vaccinated versus unvaccinated group, there were no emergency visits, only six hospitalizations and no deaths related to COVID-19. There were three cases of pericarditis, all in vaccinated children.

The researchers concluded that in adolescents, the vaccine reduced the rate of hospitalization more than it increased the risk for myocarditis and pericarditis, but for children, the increased risk of pericarditis was higher than the reduction of risk for hospitalization.

Children’s Diets Are Now “Over 70%” Ultra-Processed Foods, Dietitian Warns https://americanconservativemovement.com/childrens-diets-are-now-over-70-ultra-processed-foods-dietitian-warns/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/childrens-diets-are-now-over-70-ultra-processed-foods-dietitian-warns/#respond Mon, 07 Oct 2024 10:58:51 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/childrens-diets-are-now-over-70-ultra-processed-foods-dietitian-warns/ (Zero Hedge)—It looks like the “Make America Healthy Again” movement could be showing up right on time…

At least according to one registered dietitian nutritionist in Los Angeles, who recently took to Fox News to lay out the risks from ultra-processed foods in the American diet.

Ilana Muhlstein said on Fox news that America’s diet is 60% ultra-processed, but that kids consume even more than that.

“With children, it’s actually over 70%. That is really wild when you think about it,” she said. “What we eat defines how our cells work, how our organs work, and we’re seeing a strong decline in mental health and well-being.”

And a recent BMJ study found that 60% of Americans’ daily calories come from ultra-processed foods (UPFs), which are linked to 32 poor health outcomes, including mental, respiratory, cardiovascular, and metabolic issues like cancer, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes, according to Fox.

Muhlstein added: “We’re actually seeing that this next generation might be the first generation to … have a shorter lifespan than their parents due to nutrition and lifestyle factors.”

A nutritious diet boosts children’s mental well-being, behavior, and academic performance, says Muhlstein, a nutritionist and instructor of “Raising Balanced Eaters.”

While cutting ultra-processed foods entirely is unrealistic, Muhlstein advocates for reversing the typical 70/30 ratio of processed to whole foods, recommending an “80/20 rule”—80% whole foods like eggs, fish, and vegetables, and 20% indulgent foods like chips and ice cream.

For healthier options, Muhlstein suggests swapping ketchup for marinara sauce on chicken nuggets and fries, opting for chicken strips over mechanically processed nuggets, and choosing hamburgers over nitrite-laden hot dogs. Each small change reduces the overall level of food processing.

The nutritionist warns that poor eating habits won’t resolve on their own and encourages exposing kids to diverse flavors and textures early on.

The Fox News report says that sitting down for family meals—without screens—can reduce the risk of eating disorders and promote a healthy relationship with food. Just three to five family meals a week can make a positive difference, fostering better eating habits and family connection.

  • Rates of mental illness in children are rising rapidly, with psychotropic drugs being the conventional solution. The documentary “Kids on Pills” examines treatment options and long-term impacts of medicating children
  • U.S. doctors are more likely to diagnose children with conditions like bipolar disorder and prescribe multiple medications, while European doctors tend to be more conservative in their approach
  • Children in the U.S. often receive cocktails of powerful psychotropic drugs that have numerous side effects and health risks, with minimal evidence of benefit in many cases
  • The long-term effects of polypharmacy in children remain unclear. Some experts warn these drugs alter brain development when prescribed at young ages, causing lasting changes
  • Alternative therapies like occupational therapy and family-based interventions are encouraged. As parents, you must advocate for your children and consider nondrug approaches to address behavioral issues

(Mercola)—Rates of mental illness in children have risen at an alarming rate, and the conventional solution? Psychotropic drugs. Today, it’s no longer uncommon for children to receive a cocktail of medications to manage their mental health. But is this really the best course of action? Or are we just subjecting our children to severe side effects while inadvertently worsening their mental health in the long run?

The 2022 documentary “Kids on Pills: Happiness Out of a Bottle” from Only Human1 takes a closer look at the treatment options for children with mental disorders. Directed by Stefanie Schmidt and Lilian Franck, the film compares how American and European children are treated and medicated for these conditions, and what the long-term impact on their health might be.

Rate of US Children with Bipolar Disorder Has Increased 4,000%

The documentary follows the lives of several children who have sought treatment from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for their mental health disorders. The doctors in Boston have been the subject of criticism and controversy for several years due to their early diagnosis of mental disorders among children, some only a few years old.

Siblings Anna and Will Birtwell, 9 and 6 years old respectively, have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder (manic depression), and often struggle with unpredictable mood swings. Their mother, Kelli, narrates:2

“The tiniest thing would set off a two-hour rage or crying fit. She [Anna] might start saying things that someone says when they’re depressed. For instance, one week would be drawing butterflies and flowers and rainbows and all sorts of things that [are] happy. And then the next week, she would take a black crayon and scribble and rip the paper through, and she would say just things like ‘I don’t want to be alive anymore.’”

Jaylene Quijada, also a patient at Massachusetts General Hospital, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when she was just 3 years old. In her case, the manic aspects of the condition are more evident. Jaylene’s psychiatrist, Dr. Robert Doyle, who is also the chief medical director at the hospital, comments:3

“Looking back, she was the most classic bipolar kid, with these full-blown, manic, giddy laughing, out of control, unable to be redirected children I’ve ever seen.”

However, physicians in Europe diagnose psychiatric irregularities like this differently. According to Dr. Martin Holtman,4 who has a clinic in Frankfurt, if the factors used to diagnose bipolar disorder in the U.S. were to be considered as mere behavior descriptions instead, then the children would be diagnosed with milder disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Holtman recounts how young American patients in Frankfurt might be given psychostimulants for their ADHD, but when these children go to the U.S. for vacation, they return with additional prescription medications, saying they’ve been diagnosed in the States as bipolar.5

Children in America Often Fall Victim to Polypharmacy

Polypharmacy refers to the use of multiple medications to address a health condition, and it is becoming prevalent among both the elderly and the youth. According to a recent study published in the Journal of Pediatrics,6 out of 302 pediatric patients surveyed, 68.2% have experienced polypharmacy.

In the featured documentary,7 Jaylene’s mother, Elizabeth, shared how Doyle has prescribed various types of medications to manage her daughter’s condition:

“About [age] 6, she started with the anxiety. So, I mentioned that to him [Doyle] and he said, ‘Well, let’s give her an antianxiety medication.’ So, at that point, he gave her Lorazepam to calm her down. That didn’t do anything. It just made her more hyper; it just made her more stimulated. So, he said, ‘Well let’s try Klonopin.’ We tried that — [it] didn’t help her. Nothing would help.

So, at that point we went back and forth. He just kept mixing the medication[s], like the Risperdal. That was the only thing that really helped her. So, we just kept upping the dose, upping the dose, splitting the doses up to see if that would help.”

Doyle adds that he even tried giving Jaylene small doses of lithium — a mood stabilizer with side effects like memory problems and seizures.8 It even poses a risk for kidney failure when used long-term.9 But it still didn’t work out, as Jaylene started to become confused and couldn’t think clearly, causing him to halt the lithium treatment.10

Meanwhile, Anna, who has been taking a new drug called Abilify to curb the manic side of her condition,11 is shown to be struggling with severe mood swings and crying fits. Her mother says that according to her doctor, the new drug works to get rid of “the manic side” of the condition, but as a result, the depression manifests more, causing Anna’s intense outbursts.12

Indeed, U.S. children are now being plied with powerful drugs to treat mental health concerns. Rarely do these medications address the root of the problem. Plus, they create new issues of their own. The result? More symptoms that are then treated with additional medications.

Giving Children a Cocktail of Drugs Provides Very Little to No Benefit

There’s no doubt that overprescribing medications is ultimately setting children up for a downward spiral of increasing side effects and worsening health. The documentary mentions some of the side effects of psychotropic drugs on children, including weight gain, growth dysfunction, sleep problems, nervousness and mood swings. Medicated children are also at higher risk of diseases like heart disease and diabetes.13

What’s even more alarming is that drug cocktails have been shown to provide very little or no benefit. For example, a 2021 review published in the Journal of Child and Adolescent Psychopharmacology14 found that when selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) were added to other ADHD treatments, there was only “minimal evidence of benefit for mood or anxiety comorbidities.”

In addition, the drug Strattera (atomoxetine) led to “mixed reports of benefit, including the only small RCT [randomized controlled trial] showing no benefit.” The study also highlighted that taking drug combinations frequently resulted in more side effects — as expected.

And although six million children in the U.S. are now taking psychotropic medications,15 many of these drugs are not approved for use in children. According to the featured film:

“Doctors can justify prescribing other medications earlier as ‘individual healing attempts’ — this is a regular occurrence in the U.S., which accounts for the majority of the 17 million children taking psychotropic drugs worldwide.”16

Dr. Dominik Riccio, director of the Center for the Study of Psychiatry and Psychology, explains why giving antipsychotic medications to children could be particularly damaging:17

“When you give an antipsychotic drug to anyone, especially children, you are causing an imbalance. It’s an exogenous substance that you’re putting into the brain and you’re causing a purposeful imbalance.

You’re doing very damaging things, in my opinion, to the child because you’re shutting down the centers of the brain that are responsible for creativity, for loving, for emotion, for feeling — the very things that make us human beings and discriminate us from the animals.”

The Long-Term Effects of Polypharmacy in Children Are Still Unclear

Eleven-year-old Raul, who has ADHD and bipolar disorder, has been on a cocktail of psychotropic drugs since he was diagnosed. According to his adoptive parents, Tessa and Terrence Williams, some of the prescription medications he was given include antianxiety medications like Buspar, stimulants like Concerta and Ritalin (methylphenidate), and even Depakote, an antiseizure drug.18

They also describe an incident in which Raul’s outbursts took a turn for the worse, and he became violent and had a seizure. He was hospitalized in the psychiatric ward for a month. Terrence shares how he was “very upset” as he was hopeful that the medications were working. “We thought perhaps we were turning a corner, but they actually really [went] downhill,” he said.19

The film states that without definitive studies, the long-term consequences of these drugs cannot be concluded, and with incidents like Raul’s, it’s often unclear whether it’s the illness or the medication that’s really responsible for the behavior.20

European doctors also highlight the long-term risks associated with prescribing psychotropic drugs to young children. According to Dr. Bruno Müller-Oerlinghausen, a clinical psychopharmacologist, these drugs are “excitatory potent” — patients who take them often experience sleep disturbances, coordination problems, agitation and even suicidal thoughts.21

Dr. Gerald Hüther, a German neurobiologist who has done in-depth studies on Parkinson’s disease, also voices his concern about long-term methylphenidate use among young children, saying:22

“Medication that changes the functioning of the brain, and is prescribed very early, also leads to the alteration in the maturation of the brain. If one prescribes the same psychotropic medication for an adult, then it’s as if one sets a wobbling train back on the tracks. But the tracks are all already there.

If these drugs are given to a child whose brain is still in the stage of development, then it’s as if it affects the building of the tracks. That means the train can drive somewhere else and that is then also verifiable.”

Nondrug Approaches for ADHD

In Europe, even though they still prescribe drugs to children, doctors are more conservative than U.S. doctors when it comes to prescribing multiple medications at a time. According to Holtman:

“We’re not quick to prescribe medication. In most cases, we don’t give high doses. We don’t give several types of medication. The Americans almost always don’t just take one type of medication. You could say they are taking a cocktail of drugs. So, we are being careful.”23

In addition, seeking alternative therapies are encouraged, such as enrolling in rehab centers where children with ADHD work with their family and other families to develop traditional values, such as trust and strengthening the child-parent relationship to manage their condition. Jens Missler, whose young children Marc-Andre and Jan-Phillip have both been diagnosed, says:24

“I don’t think that you can call it a general remedy. You try to integrate into daily life what you have learned as much as possible. It won’t always be easy, that’s obvious, but of course, you have to see what you alone have got out of it. We have to see what he wants to put into practice for himself, at his age and of course, how far we can propel him in that direction.”

Marc-Andre, before doing therapy, was unable to do simple tasks like catching a ball or hopping on one foot. After two years of occupational therapy, his concentration has improved, as well as his dexterity and ability to focus on one task at a time.25

Yet, there’s no doubt that the urge to seek medication as a primary treatment is also increasing in Europe. Despite his successes in occupational therapy, Marc-Andre’s parents are planning to put him on methylphenidate, as he is set to begin school in a few months.26

Be Your Child’s Advocate

In 2008, physicians from Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital made headlines after it was discovered that they received millions of dollars of funding from pharmaceutical companies. It’s a clear indication of how Big Pharma is pulling strings to ensure that medications become the first line of treatment for adults and children alike.

In the documentary, Dr. John Abramson, a former psychologist and author of the book “Overdosed America,” comments:27

“There’s definitely a relationship to the funding system of how the knowledge is produced and disseminated that creates the impression that physicians who are trying their best to help children will realize that goal by using drugs and expensive drugs instead of by doing what they did before these expensive drugs became the recognized therapy for pediatric bipolar disease.”

Advocating for your child is your responsibility as a parent; it is imperative that you stand up against allowing powerful corporations to rake in profits at the cost of your child’s well-being. If your child is dealing with an emotional or mental challenge, I recommend seeking help from a trustworthy physician who does not consider psychotropic drugs as the first choice of treatment.

“The treatment of children with psychotropic drugs is a science that is still partly experimental. Only the future will tell if the parents of these children have made the right decisions, and by then it will be too late to go back,” the film concludes.28

You must also realize that most behavioral problems in children are related to an unhealthy diet, emotional upset and exposure to toxins. For example, paying attention to the health of your and your child’s gut microbiome is crucial. Research shows that the makeup of gut flora at birth and during a child’s first year of life plays a key role in the development of neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD.29

Other toxic substances that have been associated with an increased risk of ADHD include lead, phthalates, BPA, pesticides and air pollution, as they disrupt brain development and neurotransmitter systems, affecting your child’s behavior and cognitive function. “On August 19th, 2024, the Department of Homeland Security announced that they had lost track of over 300,000 of these children. In June of 2024, a government insider from the Department of Health and Human Services provided Muckraker with a list detailing the names of over 8000 alien children, along with their last known addresses. So we began an operation to find the missing children ourselves.”

~ Anthony Rubin (Muckraker.com)

Carlos Arrelano used to work for NGOs delivering these children throughout the United States.

“I spent over two decades working for NGOs. And to be more specific, I spent about seven years escorting children around the country. Delivering them from point A to point B. One of the things that I used to do was I used to move kids in the middle of the night at private airfields, private charter planes. We had countless of kids, ten-year-olds, 12-year-olds, 14-year-olds tell us that, oh they woke us up at three in the morning and they took us to a private airfield where the entire plane was full of kids. And we, I asked them over and over again, did you see other adults on this plane, or were the enti… all the seats just children? And they would say the entire plane, every single seat was a was a child on it. And then they spoke on how they would land in New York and get on charter busses. And then when their sponsor finally picked them up, they picked them up at a park, at a public park in the middle of the night.

And I would get confirmation from the sponsor as well. What time did you pick your child up? Did you pick them up at the airport or at the park? And they confirmed that it was at three in the morning in the park. And, these kids, all of them told stories about how they had little friends that they lost touch with, they’d never heard from again.

We had a lot of kids in the New York area with their sponsors, where I asked them, hey, did you go through any fingerprints? Did you go through any type of background to, to get this child? They said no fingerprints, no background. All I did was sign a piece of paper and they gave the kid to me. And then they turned around and gave the kid away two days later.

The youngest child I moved was three months old. When I moved that three month old, I wasn’t given formula, I wasn’t given diapers, because supposedly I was supposed to land where I was going to drop this child off at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. And I ended up dropping the child off at two in the morning.

And one of the biggest issues we ran into on this trip was that a lot of these so-called sponsors were telling us, oh, we gave the child away. The moment they got here, we gave it away after a day, or we gave it away after two days. And after they tell us, oh, they gave it away. There’s no way to find this child anymore. It’s a dead end. Those kids are lost forever. Never going to find them again.”

~ Carlos Arrelano

In their search, Muckraker.com found that these young children were officially living in dilapidated vacant homes.

“This was a house we showed up at in New York. This was in Amityville, New York, on Long Island. It was a house where allegedly two young boys, seven and ten, were sent to a sponsor there. And we showed up and the house is totally derelict and shut down. Nobody lives there anymore. We tried calling the phone number associated with the sponsor and it was just disconnected.”

~ Anthony Rubin (Muckraker.com)

“Two children were delivered to a sponsor that lives at this address, but as you can see, nobody lives here. And honestly, it doesn’t look like anybody’s lived here in quite a long time.”

American Psychological Association Tells Children That Asking Questions Is a Form of “Disinformation” https://americanconservativemovement.com/american-psychological-association-tells-children-that-asking-questions-is-a-form-of-disinformation/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/american-psychological-association-tells-children-that-asking-questions-is-a-form-of-disinformation/#respond Fri, 27 Sep 2024 14:12:46 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/american-psychological-association-tells-children-that-asking-questions-is-a-form-of-disinformation/ (Natural News)—New children’s literature from the American Psychological Association (APA) aims to brainwash kids into believing that the simple, innocent act of merely asking a question constitutes intolerable “disinformation” – so stop asking questions, says the APA.

Entitled “True or False? The Science of Perception, Misinformation, and Disinformation,” the APA children’s book exists to “pre-bunk” the next generation from believing “conspiracy theories” about things like vaccines, pharmaceuticals, and government oppression as a response to a “pandemic.”

“This book explores how we think and perceive and why false beliefs, superstitions, opinions, misinformation, or wild guesses can just stick around and mess things up,” the book states.

“You’ll see how misunderstandings and misuse of scientific findings can lead people to the wrong conclusions. Readers learn how to outsmart their brain to gain critical thinking skills and find ways to identify and correct false beliefs and disinformation.”

(Related: Did you know that many state-employed psychological experts are distancing themselves from the APA and other corrupt medical associations due to the behavioral manipulation they pushed during Covid?)

Believing “disinformation” means your brain is “glitchy”

It is an undeniable fact that the human brain is the most advanced “supercomputer” in the universe. Science can barely explain how it works despite thousands of years’ worth of inquiry into determining how it works.

The APA recognizes that the human brain is an advanced wonder, however it argues that the human brain has problems that could cause some people to believe things that the establishment does not want them to believe.

“Our big brains are super-efficient but glitchy,” the book’s text states.

“Scientists estimate that 90% of what we see, hear, smell, or sense never really sinks in. Instead, we pick up on the big things, general impressions, or important stuff and end up leaving our brains to fill in the missing info. And on top of that, people sometimes twist information on purpose. False beliefs can be shared from person to person or go viral in a flash, often by people who think the info is true.”

According to the APA, two-time failed presidential wannabe Hilary Clinton lost the 2016 presidential election not because she is a creep that nobody likes, but because of “disinformation.” Trump, in other words, did not legitimately win the election, the APA insists.

Children can still generally trust books, newspapers and certain “trusted news shows” because those are easily controlled by the powers that be (TPTB). Children should avoid the internet, however, because the APA says there is no “gatekeeping mechanism” in place to ensure that all information found there is “true.”

“It doesn’t have a way to fact-check information for accuracy before it is made available to the public,” the APA further insists about the internet. “This means a lot of what you read or see online or on social media might not be reliable. Or exactly true. And some people can take advantage of that to spread disinformation.”

One of the top dogs behind this APA brainwashing campaign aimed at children is Jacqueline B. Toner, a retired clinical psychologist based out of Maryland.

“This is the sub-species of human (loosely defined) that aspires to be the Gods of the Brave New World,” argues Ben Bartee of Armageddon Prose about Toner and her ilk.

“Since the American Psychological Association resorted to the use of drugging millions of kids for the purpose of controlling them, their credibility is zilch,” added one of Bartee’s readers to the conversation.

“Their tactics continue to resemble what the Soviets did to homosexuals, outcasts, dissidents, political prisoners etc. It’s unlikely that all of those drugged kids who are now adults will forget any time soon.”

Everything the deep state does not like is now regarded as “disinformation.” Find out more a Deception.news.

Start ’Em Young: Government Climate Alarmists Brainwashing Kids to Comply With Green Tyranny https://americanconservativemovement.com/start-em-young-government-climate-alarmists-brainwashing-kids-to-comply-with-green-tyranny/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/start-em-young-government-climate-alarmists-brainwashing-kids-to-comply-with-green-tyranny/#respond Mon, 02 Sep 2024 12:05:18 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/start-em-young-government-climate-alarmists-brainwashing-kids-to-comply-with-green-tyranny/ (Natural News)—Climate alarmists in the federal government are now brainwashing children with an “inescapable death spiral” if they do not comply with green tyranny.

The Washington Free Beacon reported on this matter, citing the Climate Kids webpage operated by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). While the webpage includes educational materials and activities for children, it also parrots talking points from the climate alarmists. These include claims like “the world is undergoing cataclysmic warming,” “sea levels are rising” and “global ice coverage is diminishing.”

Just like the green tyrants claim, the Climate Kids page claims that fossil fuels are to blame for “pollution, the destruction of landscapes and natural habitats, oil spills in the ocean, and nasty fracking chemicals in the ground.” It also proclaims that global warming is the “biggest problem of all” despite studies that prove that the world’s temperatures are actually cooling. The Free Beacon also showed an example of NASA’s Climate Kids webpage brainwashing children about the dangers of “climate change” and rising sea levels. One image predicted that cities like New Orleans and Miami could be underwater. However, the site does not show a timeline as to when it will happen.

Meanwhile, the NOAA Education Portal managed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) also peddles talking points from climate alarmists. It includes a curriculum with catastrophic language about global warming. “Courses linked on the portal, for example, encourage students to foster negative emotions about the state of the environment into taking action,” noted the Free Beacon.

“The online resources appear to be a peg in the Biden-Harris administration’s broader strategy of aiming climate messaging at younger generations.”

Texas Sen. Cruz to investigate the two climate portals

According to the Free Beacon, the NASA Climate Kids webpage was created during the Obama administration in 2012. However, the NOAA Education Portal was made under the Biden administration only in 2022.

The webpages did not sit well with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), ranking member of the Senate Commerce Committee, with both now the subject of an investigation he is spearheading. On Aug. 22, he wrote letters to NASA Administrator Bill Nelson and NOAA Administration Richard Spinrad over the two resources. Cruz demanded information from the two officials about their efforts to stoke climate anxiety and “manufacture support” for “radical environmental activism.”

The senator accused the two agencies of producing “faux-educational materials that fuel climate alarmism” to generate support for the Biden administration’s climate agenda. Such fearmongering, he noted, contributes to the rise of “eco-anxiety” among young Americans.

“Young people are absorbing the rhetoric. They report high levels of anxiety about climate change and are adapting their behavior in radical ways, including by foregoing children. Is this anxiety based on science or sensationalism? The evidence points to the latter.”

Cruz wrote in his letter to Nelson that the prediction of submerged cities shown in the Climate Kids webpage wouldn’t happen for hundreds of years, if it will, based on the most updated analyses. “Our country’s approach to climate change should be driven by science, not the woke zeitgeist,” the senator wrote.

The Texas Republican meanwhile wrote in his letter to Spinrad that a video from 2012 in the NOAA Education Portal warned that melting ice caps could create an “inescapable death spiral.” The same video warned that “global warming” would leave no ice in the Arctic Ocean by 2022. However, NASA’s own data showed the opposite – the minimum extent of Arctic ice has increased by 29 percent since the video’s creation.

NASA spokeswoman Jennifer Dooren told the Free Beacon that her agency received the letter and would respond to the senator directly. Meanwhile, NOAA – which is under the Department of Commerce – did not respond to a request for comment.

42X Increase in Excess Deaths Among Children in Europe Recorded Since Covid Jab Was “Approved” https://americanconservativemovement.com/42x-increase-in-excess-deaths-among-children-in-europe-recorded-since-covid-jab-was-approved/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/42x-increase-in-excess-deaths-among-children-in-europe-recorded-since-covid-jab-was-approved/#respond Sun, 01 Sep 2024 08:43:36 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/42x-increase-in-excess-deaths-among-children-in-europe-recorded-since-covid-jab-was-approved/ (Daily Exposé)—Excess deaths among children across Europe, excluding Ukraine have increased by 335% since the European Medicines Agency (EMA) granted Emergency Use Authorization of the Covid vaccines for use in children in week 21 of 2021 compared to the number of excess deaths recorded during the same time frame prior to EMA granting “authorization” of the Covid vaccine for children.

In the scorching summer of 2021, a momentous decision swept across Europe, sparking a whirlwind of emotions among parents, who had fallen for the 24/7 propaganda, eagerly awaiting a ray of hope for their children.

The European Medicines Agency (EMA) had finally granted emergency use approval for the use of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in children aged 12 to 15.

Relief and elation surged through the hearts of countless naive parents who saw this as a beacon of protection against the alleged pandemic.

Yet, the winds of fortune took an unexpected turn as the vaccine rollout for children commenced. Startling reports emerged, revealing a distressing surge in excess deaths among the young ones across the continent. The sense of optimism quickly faded among the thousands of families affected and was replaced by a grim reality that cast a shadow over the hopes of many.

Tragically, the statistics paint a haunting picture, with a staggering 362% surge in excess deaths among children aged 0 to 14 by the thirty-fourth week of 2024. These numbers whisper a chilling tale of consequences that were foreseen by many silenced and heavily censored voices.

Back in 2020, as the establishment desperately sought to fast-track the use of mRNA technology disguised as a vaccine against the alleged pandemic, COVID-19 injections were still in the embryonic stages of development, treading a precarious path toward regulatory approval.

To hasten their availability, regulatory agencies like the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) invoked emergency use authorizations (EUAs), granting a temporary lifeline to these novel and dangerous vaccines.

These EUAs acted as regulatory mechanisms, permitting the usage of medical products in dire circumstances, such as a pandemic, even before they completed the rigorous journey of full regulatory approval.

It was an unprecedented measure taken in the face of an unprecedented crisis. But the alleged COVID-19 pandemic has proven to not be a threat to children, making future decisions by these regulatory bodies extremely questionable and possibly criminal.

One crucial reason why mRNA vaccines had not been widely employed in the general population until December 2020 was the specter of Antibody-Dependent Enhancement (ADE).

This phenomenon haunted the corridors of scientific discourse, raising concerns that vaccination with mRNA vaccines could potentially exacerbate the disease, rendering those inoculated more susceptible to its clutches.

History had already witnessed a chilling episode of ADE during the development of a dengue fever vaccine. Initial trials indicated promise, displaying protection against the virus for those unscathed by prior infections.

Sadly, in individuals who had encountered a different strain of the virus before, the vaccine seemed to amplify the risk of severe illness, a grim testament to the treacherous nature of ADE.

Similar tales emerged from numerous animal studies, where potential “vaccines” instigated lung inflammation and other adverse effects upon subsequent exposure to the virus. The vaccine-induced immune response, rather than neutralizing the virus, wrought havoc on lung tissue, leaving a trail of unintended consequences.

Additionally, the ominous specter of Vaccine-Associated Enhanced Disease (VAED) loomed large during respiratory virus vaccine trials, including those against coronaviruses.

For instance, trials for a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine illuminated a disconcerting pattern: vaccinated infants faced an increased risk of hospitalization and more severe respiratory illness upon encountering the virus.

The immune response triggered by the vaccine, rather than safeguarding against the virus, seemed to trigger an overreaction of the immune system, exacerbating the disease’s symptoms.

Respiratory viruses, such as coronaviruses and RSV, had long been recognized as grave threats to vulnerable populations, especially infants and the elderly.

However, the alleged SARS-CoV-2 virus, supposedly responsible for the COVID-19 pandemic, appeared to spare the younger generation, raising perplexing questions about the extension of Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for Covid-19 vaccinations to children.

The absence of an imminent threat to children further muddled the decision-making process.

The ultimate goal couldn’t have been containment, as real-world data revealed an ironic twist: the Covid-19 vaccinated population seemed to exhibit a higher likelihood of infection and transmission compared to their unvaccinated counterparts. The very shield intended to protect against the virus appeared to falter in its mission.

The eye-opening chart, encompassing the period from January 3rd to March 27th, 2022, unveiled the total number of Covid-19 cases categorized by vaccination status and age group in England. The data, extracted from the the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) Week 5, (page 43)Week 9 (page 41) and Week 13 (page 41) Covid-19 Vaccine Surveillance reports , painted a vivid picture of the disconcerting reality.

Similarly, another revealing chart illuminated the case rates per 100,000 people, again segregated by vaccination status and age group in England. The alarming disparity emerged: case rates soared among the triple-vaccinated population in every age group, leaving a gaping chasm between them and the unvaccinated.

The divide only grew wider as time passed.

The numbers spoke volumes, revealing that the Covid-19 vaccine recipients faced a higher risk of infection compared to the unvaccinated populace. The evidence begged for a closer examination.

But that examination has still not happened, and sadly, in a recent analysis, EuroMOMO, an organization entrusted with official statistical data from European countries, published data that revealed a disheartening correlation between the approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children and a surge in excess deaths among the young ones.

The data, collected from 26 participating countries across Europe (not including Ukraine) paints a grim picture that simply cannot be ignored.

The chilling figures, extending up to the 34th week of 2024, will most definitely capture the attention of concerned minds.

It is also worth noting that the data only covers 26 out of the 44 countries in Europe, excluding Ukraine. Meaning any claims attributing the findings to the ongoing war can be dismissed immediately.

During week 21 of 2021, the European Medicines Agency extended the emergency use authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, first to children aged 12 to 15 and later to the age group of 5 to 11.

However, the weeks following the approval witnessed a shocking rise in excess deaths among children, an upward trend that persisted unabated.

Between week 21 of 2021 and week 52 of 2021, an alarming tally of 310 excess deaths among 0 to 14-year-old children should have sent shockwaves through the continent. But the data was suppressed.

The contrast couldn’t have been starker, as the period between week 1 and week 21 of 2021 saw 515 fewer deaths than expected.

And the fact the surge in excess deaths aligns perfectly with the EMA’s approval of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine for children aged 12 to 15 cannot be merely dismissed as coincidence.

The distressing trend continued throughout 2022, with a total of 1,639 excess deaths among children aged 0 to 14 across the 26 European countries, painting a grim reality that cannot be dismissed.

Thankfully, 2023 was slightly better with 138 excess deaths recorded among children.

But sadly, we have again seen a huge increase in 2024 with 442 excess deaths recorded among children across Europe as of week 34 of 2024.

The somber figures speak of an unprecedented 335%/42x surge in excess deaths since the European Medicines Agency extended emergency use authorization of the Covid-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 15.

The contrast with the previous period couldn’t be starker.

From week 44 of 2018 to week 21 of 2021, 735 fewer deaths occurred among children aged 0 to 14 than expected.

Week8 to Week52 of 2018
2019
2020
Week 1 to Week 21 of 2021

The staggering increase in excess deaths among children aged 0 to 14 across 26 European countries, including the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Germany, paints a bleak picture of an astounding 335% surge since the European Medicines Agency extended emergency use authorization of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to children aged 12 to 15.

This distressing reality raises serious concerns, considering the experimental nature of the injections and its previous avoidance due to the risks of antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) and Vaccine-Associated Enhanced Disease (VAED).

Moreover, administering the vaccine to children, who were not at significant risk from the alleged Covid-19 virus, seems perplexing in light of the 873 fewer deaths recorded among children aged 0 to 14 across Europe in 2020, from the onset of the alleged pandemic to the year’s end.

The Sad Lesson of School Sex-Abuse 101: It’s Pass the Trash, Not Catch the Trash https://americanconservativemovement.com/the-sad-lesson-of-school-sex-abuse-101-its-pass-the-trash-not-catch-the-trash/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/the-sad-lesson-of-school-sex-abuse-101-its-pass-the-trash-not-catch-the-trash/#respond Wed, 28 Aug 2024 07:36:05 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/the-sad-lesson-of-school-sex-abuse-101-its-pass-the-trash-not-catch-the-trash/ (RealClearInvestigations)—To outward appearances, Michael Allen was a revered high school coach in the tiny community of Little Axe, Oklahoma — a caring, charismatic leader who mentored star athletes on his girls’ softball and boys’ baseball teams.

All of that changed when Allen and fellow coaches showed up at a 2002 spring break trip by Little Axe High School students to South Padre Island, Texas, some 750 miles south.

Ashley Terrell, a 17-year-old senior, and a friend were coaxed to the coaches’ hotel room where a party with alcohol led to Ashley blacking out. She woke up to find Allen in bed with her while her friend cried out for her from the bathroom, alleging she had been abused by another coach. Scared and confused, the girls fled the room.

Ashley quickly told her mother and school officials, including a school security officer she confused with a police officer. They assured her the matter would be handled. But Allen was never arrested or charged with any crime. He resigned quietly from Little Axe in 2002. In the years since, he has coached or taught at seven other Oklahoma high schools, according to state records, a development Ashley found appalling.

“I watched them pass the trash right in front of me,” said the woman, now Ashley Rolen, 39, an Oklahoma City entrepreneur married to a pastor. She is working to publicize the problem of sexual misconduct, particularly among K-12 school employees. “My story is significant but not unique,” she notes ruefully.

Rolen’s case illustrates a shadowy and largely undocumented aspect of the national crisis involving the sexual abuse of K-12 students by teachers, administrators, coaches, bus drivers and other staff. Experts say the hundreds of school employees arrested each year and the more than $1.2 billion in related settlements paid out by school districts in just the last decade represent a mere fraction of the problem in a system that works to deny and hide the abuse of minors.

There is no national data for sexual misconduct involving K-12 school employees, according to the Department of Education. The most recent outside research estimates only 5% percent of K-12 sexual misconduct cases are turned over to law enforcement, and only a fraction of those result in prosecutions.

“Given what we already know, based on existing research, it is of epidemic proportions and is deliberately ignored by the powers that be,” said Terri Miller, president of the advocacy group SESAME (Stop Educator Sexual Abuse Manipulation & Exploitation).

Victims of sexual misconduct by school predators may number in the millions, which would surpass the size of similar scandals in the Roman Catholic Church or the Boy Scouts, according to reports from academics and think tanks.

The Defense of Freedom Institute, a conservative advocacy nonprofit focused on education and workforce issues, concluded in a study last year that “the ease with which school officials can pass sex abusers to other districts” helps explain why complaints of sexual violence filed with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights more than tripled between 2010 and 2019. The U.S. had 49.5 million K-12 students in the last school year, according to federal figures.

News accounts as well as litigation surrounding K-12 sexual misconduct cases illustrate aspects of the problem Miller describes as “mobile molestors”:

  • A January lawsuit against Clark County Nevada schools around Las Vegas alleges union contracts protected predators who would drift from one school to another, racking up new victims along the way.

  • The Tahoma, Washington, school system settled a case last year in which it admitted it was “negligent in continuing to employ a former paraeducator after reports he was sexually abusing and grooming students.”

  • An Oregon case was settled for $3.5 million in March, the state’s largest such settlement, after a judge ruled the plaintiff could proceed with a claim of “state created danger” because officials had failed to act.

  • In Camden, New Jersey, Wasim Muhammad plans to resume duties this month as Camden School Advisory Board president two months after the district settled for $2 million a lawsuit from a woman who said Muhammad sexually abused her when he taught there decades ago.

  • Also this month, a teacher hired by Stamford, Connecticut, schools was revealed to have previously been investigated for inappropriate behavior with students in New York City schools.

Such recent examples confirm a long-term and continuing trend. A 2010 report by the Government Accountability Office to a House Committee found that in a majority of cases it reviewed the predators should have been stopped earlier.

“At least 11 of these 15 cases involve offenders who previously targeted children,” the report said. “Even more disturbing, in at least 6 cases, offenders used their new positions as school employees or volunteers to abuse more children.”

The problem and the cover-up are not limited to public schools. The prestigious Horace Mann School in New York City covered up rampant sexual abuse by staffers in the 1970s, before reaching private agreements with dozens of former students and apologizing in 2013. A Boston Globe “Spotlight” investigation found widespread sexual misconduct buried in the records of hundreds of elite New England private schools, including extensive failures to act promptly  at St. George’s School in Rhode Island.

The ugly phenomenon seems to accompany sexual misconduct generally. The Roman Catholic Church passed predator priests among parishes for decades, and Dr. Larry Nassar of the USA Gymnastics national team finally went to prison after officials ignored allegations he abused the nation’s best gymnasts for years.

Many students are victimized after flares had previously gone up about a predator at a school, only to see them fizzle and disappear when the falsely cultivated good reputation of the predator snuffs them or the predator moves on to another school or district. The spring break incident involving Coach Allen and Ashley occurred after a mother had already expressed reservations about his relationship with her daughter — and the school community backed him, ironically including Ashley’s late mother, who was a school staffer at the time and is now deceased.

Indeed, many cases are not reported until long after the fact. The victims are young, and they can be intimidated and uncertain about what has happened. Or the victim may genuinely like the abuser, seeing a promised future that never materializes. And then schools will often attempt to bury allegations rather than tarnish the reputation of the person implicated.

‘A Pool of Mobile Molesters’

An offender may have scores of victims. The Government Accountability Office cited four reasons such predators are able to filter through the system, hurting students over many years in multiple locations:

  • Resignations that allowed the school to consider the matter closed and then even recommend the departing employee to a new school.
  • Failure to “perform preemployment criminal history checks.”
  • Checking applicants’ fingerprints only against regional rather than national databases.
  • And the simple failure to “inquire into troubling information regarding criminal histories.”

“Passing the trash has created a pool of mobile molesters in our nation’s schools,” said Miller. “And we won’t know about them until some brave person or bystander comes forward.”

Multiple explanations have been given for the system’s frequent failures to stop predators, ranging from bureaucratic inertia to contracts that protect teachers or administrators. Whatever the cause, Amos Guiora, law professor at the University of Utah, believes failing to address sexual misconduct at its source, and thus enabling predators to offend again, lies at the heart of the matter.

“All of these incidents would be preventable after the very first instance if the perpetrator were not protected,” he said. “If they know they will or might be protected, the pattern will continue. Bad as the perpetrator is, without the enabler, he can’t operate.”

Guiora said the problem is particularly infuriating because school employees are categorized as mandatory reporters, meaning they are required to alert authorities in abuse cases. At the moment, however, violation of the mandatory reporter requirement is a misdemeanor usually with a one-year statute of limitations, meaning prosecutors rarely pursue such cases.

“Even worse, in addition to the initial attack by the molester, the child is subsequently re-attacked by others whose aim is to protect the perpetrator and institution: bystanders, teachers, principals, special interest groups, government bureaucrats, and politicians,” Guiora wrote in a 2022 Texas Tech Law Review article. “It is a sea of laws and social forces that work to rebrutalize survivors of childhood sexual assault. For the child, it is a sea of destruction.”

The ways in which K-12 predators have maneuvered through the system has led some to conclude the professional education establishment is more concerned with its own welfare than protecting kids.

“What you have is people protecting the reputation of an institution rather than the safety of children,” Oklahoma Republican State Sen. Shane Jett said. “Instead of exposing something that is ongoing, they aid and abet the bad guy because what’s most important to them is making sure everyone is employed.”

Jett pointed to lobbying groups, the teachers’ unions, and an Oklahoma organization called the Center for Education Law that represents many school boards there as enablers. RealClearInvestigations sought comment from the center as well as the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association, but none of them responded to questions.

Others also pointed to the collective bargaining agreements districts make with teachers’ unions, or favorable contracts for administrators that offer protections for employees and complicate the ability of future employers to learn of past misdeeds. Union contracts have long forced school systems to keep paying people even after allegations have taken them out of the classroom.

Some are taken out of the classroom and put into so-called “rubber rooms.” In one infamous example, New York City taxpayers paid an alleged sexual harasser and toucher $1.7 million as he sat idly for two decades.

Federal law already mandates that states pass laws against systemic elements that contribute to “passing the trash” — confidentiality agreements, separation agreements, or employment contracts that allow for the scrubbing of files when someone leaves a school.

The  federal mandate stems from a clause in the 2015 Every Student Succeeds Act that federal regulators have failed to mandate, according to SESAME President Miller.

In 2022, the Department of Education said SESAME’s proposed legislation should serve as the model for state legislatures seeking to combat repeat offenders, but to date only seven states have passed it, and all told only nine have such laws on the books, according Miller.

But the pattern of failing to act when credible allegations are raised against an employee can also be rooted in simple convenience or ignorance. Predators are aware of this kind of built-in shield and use it to their advantage, experts in the field said.

“Very, very often they get away with doing the wrong thing, and lots of times the wrong thing will make everybody happy for a short time,” said Melanie Blow, executive director of the Stop Abuse Campaign. “It’s common to see parents don’t know what to think, either. Mom and Dad are kind of in too much of a crisis, they go to the principal, and they assume the school will do the right thing.”

Predators not only benefit from entrenched bureaucracies, they also work assiduously to build their nest within a school, according to attorneys and advocacy groups. In short, the bad guys aren’t only working their victims: In addition to the careful work they put into identifying, isolating and then preying on the students, the predators are also nurturing their own positive reputations to protect them when flags are raised.

“They might be grooming the adults, too,” said Roger Dreyer, a Sacramento attorney. “These guys can be very sophisticated.”

In June 2023, Dreyer was a lead attorney on $52 million in settlements the Sacramento schools reached over repeated sexual abuse in an elementary school. For three years, an after-school aide, Joshua Vasquez, covered the windows of his room with black garbage bags and proceeded to abuse multiple kids. School officials ignored this and other warning signs about what Vasquez was doing to kids, leading to an apology in addition to the money after Vasquez was sentenced to 150 years in prison.

Dreyer and other trial attorneys said predators are often viewed not as “trash” but as figures students trust and value, and that helps perpetuate their criminal careers. This is especially true when school employees are trained to spot possible signs of abuse only at home, not in their workplace.

“They’re not trained to handle this,” Dreyer said. “Their training sells them on the idea, ‘oh, it’s weird Uncle Harold at home,’ and then they’ll ignore all sorts of red flags. Often, you’ll hear the district saying ‘we’re lucky to have him,’ and they’ll blame it on everyone but themselves.”

All of this can leave the victim confused as well as wounded. Michelle Denault was sexually abused by a teacher at New Berlin High School in Illinois for years. She thought they were in love and would live happily ever after; as with many victims, it took her years to process what had happened to her in high school.

Today, however, Denault is under no illusions about the improper nature of what her teacher did starting inher freshman year, and he went on to chalk up other victims, she said.

“These are things we’re uncomfortable with — we just aren’t comfortable thinking about teachers or coaches assaulting our kids,” she told RCI. “We defend the ‘occupation’ as a whole. But silence and complicity are huge in institutional settings. The damage is caused by those who turn a blind eye: How can you understand how good people didn’t help you?”

Rolen said she encountered elements of all this when, prompted in 2020 by the case of Nassar and U.S. gymnasts, she went public with her ordeal. After addressing the state’s education department, she began painstakingly tracking Allen and the other coaches who had been on South Padre Island. (RealClearInvestigations could not locate Allen for comment for this article.)

She learned that Allen had gone on to impregnate a student at another school, eventually marrying her, but he has never been arrested or charged in connection with K-12 misconduct. After hearings by the state’s education department he agreed to surrender his teaching license last month. The teaching license of the coach who reportedly abused Rolen’s friend that night is scheduled for a state hearing next month.

“I had to do the investigation and that was almost worse than the rape,” Rolen said. “I wanted to die inside.”

Chemical Used in Rocket Fuel Found in Foods Commonly Fed to Babies and Children https://americanconservativemovement.com/chemical-used-in-rocket-fuel-found-in-foods-commonly-fed-to-babies-and-children/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/chemical-used-in-rocket-fuel-found-in-foods-commonly-fed-to-babies-and-children/#comments Mon, 12 Aug 2024 07:02:29 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=210403 (The Defender)—A chemical used in rocket fuel and linked to serious health issues is also present in drinking water and many food products — with the highest levels found in foods commonly eaten by babies and children, according to a Consumer Reports investigation published Wednesday.

Perchlorate is a natural and human-made chemical that’s mostly used in the U.S. as a highly water-soluble salt component for rocket fuel and missiles. It’s also used in the production of other explosives, matches, batteries and plastics.

Perchlorate gets into food through contaminated groundwater used to irrigate crops or make processed foods. It’s also transferred to food from plastic food storage containers and old bleach — which can break down into perchlorate — used at food and water processing facilities.

The chemical is known to cause thyroid issues, which increases risk for metabolic disorders, and disruption of the brain and nervous system development in infants.

Federal regulators responsible for food and water safety have for decades been aware of water and soil contamination at locations where perchlorate has been stored, used or manufactured, according to the report, but haven’t taken the steps necessary to protect public health.

About 67% of the samples had ‘measurable’ levels of perchlorate

To assess perchlorate contamination in commonly eaten foods, researchers from Consumer Reports tested 196 samples of 73 grocery store foods and fast food items and their packaging.

About 67% of the samples had “measurable” levels of perchlorate. Overall, foods consumed by babies and children, along with fast food and fresh fruits and vegetables had the highest levels. In terms of packaging, foods in plastic containers had the highest levels, followed by foods in plastic wrap and paperboard.

None of the foods contained dangerous levels of perchlorate. However, the report said, that several servings of many of the foods in a day could add up to hazardous levels.

Also, because the chemical is present in so many foods, exposure over time can be dangerous — especially for pregnant women and children.

The researchers didn’t name the brands investigated. However, they did contact the manufacturers of the contaminated foods, none of whom responded.

James E. Rogers, Ph.D., director of product safety testing at Consumer Reports said, “Regulators should do more to protect the public from contaminants like perchlorate, but at the same time, parents shouldn’t panic about what we found.”

“Feeding your children a wide variety of healthy foods is the best way to make sure they get the nutrients they need and to minimize the potentially harmful effects of contaminants in food and water,” Rogers said.

Key questions answered by the report:

1. How much perchlorate is safe?

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in 2005 set a “reference dose” or safe exposure level for perchlorate at 0.7 micrograms per kilogram of body weight per day.

However, according to the European Food Safety Authority, perchlorate is safe at only 0.3 micrograms per kilogram of body weight — less than half the level determined safe by the EPA. Many food safety experts think the EPA’s level is too high, according to Consumer Reports.

Children are particularly at risk, even when the amount of perchlorate in food or water is relatively low because they are small and have lower body weight.

The researchers found perchlorate levels in food ranged from about 2 parts per billion to 79 parts per billion, and food in plastic containers averaged about 54 parts per billion.

The report gave some examples of what those numbers could mean. For a child between the ages of 1 and 2, they found that the boxed mac and cheese they tested would give the child 50% of the European Food Safety limit for perchlorate in a day.

The rice cereal, baby multigrain cereal and organic yogurt they tested each would give a child about 25% of the limit and a serving of cucumbers or baby carrots would provide over 50% of the limit, presumably because it had been irrigated with contaminated water.

2. What are the health risks?

According to the EPA, perchlorate toxicity in humans primarily targets the thyroid gland, which plays an important role in regulating metabolism and is key for normal growth and development in infants and children.

Perchlorate is a known endocrine disruptor that can interfere with the thyroid’s ability to absorb iodide, which the body needs to make thyroid hormones.

In adults, this could lead to hypothyroidism and related issues. But for children, the report said, “Thyroid hormones are critical for brain growth and development, and any disruption to that has the potential for lifelong effects.”

According to the report, research has shown that women with thyroid dysfunction who have higher perchlorate exposures during pregnancy have children who are three times as likely to show negative cognitive effects, including lowered IQ.

3. Why isn’t perchlorate regulated?

Because it is so difficult for consumers to avoid perchlorate, Consumer Reports said it is important for regulators to act — but the EPA and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) haven’t done much to protect public health, despite knowing about the problem since 1985.

At that time, perchlorate contamination was identified in wells near California Superfund sites — remnants of weapons testing by the U.S. Department of Defense — according to a report by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine.

Despite several public controversies over perchlorate, the FDA in 2005 permitted companies to use the chemical in food-contact materials. Within a few years, high levels of the chemical were detected in baby food that uses the packaging, the report said.

In 2019, the FDA for the third time denied a petition by food and environmental advocacy groups to ban the chemical from food packaging.

In 2011, the EPA concluded that between 5.2 and 16.6 million people could be exposed to contaminated water, yet the agency continually delayed plans to set perchlorate limits in drinking water. In 2020, the EPA argued that the chemical didn’t need to be regulated at all, because state and local governments were doing so.

After the Natural Resources Defense Council challenged that decision in a lawsuit, a court ordered the EPA to regulate the chemical. The agency said it will propose new drinking water limits by Nov. 21, 2025.

The EPA should also reconsider its recommended safe level, experts said, and the agency needs to set maximum contaminant levels for perchlorate in water, following the leads of states like Massachusetts, where the limit is 2 parts per billion and California, where it is 6 parts per billion, but with a stated goal to lower it.

Tom Neltner, a chemical engineer and attorney who is the national director for the nonprofit group Unleaded Kids, told Consumer Reports the FDA should revoke permission to use perchlorate in food contact materials.

The report also said the FDA could set a limit for perchlorate in food considering the unique health effects on kids.

Why Do 1 in 9 Children Now Have ADHD Diagnosis? https://americanconservativemovement.com/why-do-1-in-9-children-now-have-adhd-diagnosis/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/why-do-1-in-9-children-now-have-adhd-diagnosis/#respond Thu, 01 Aug 2024 11:11:06 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=210063
  • ADHD diagnoses in U.S. children have increased, with 1 in 9 now affected. Factors like chemical intolerance in parents, environmental pollutants, and prenatal exposures are potential contributors
  • Toxic substances linked to ADHD include lead, phthalates, BPA, pesticides, and air pollution. These can disrupt brain development and neurotransmitter systems, affecting behavior and cognitive function
  • EMF exposure from electronic devices may cause mitochondrial dysfunction and neuropsychiatric effects, potentially contributing to ADHD. Limiting EMF exposure is recommended but challenging in modern environments
  • Multiple childhood vaccinations may be associated with increased ADHD risk. Genetic vulnerabilities may increase susceptibility to environmental toxins like glyphosate and vaccine ingredients
  • Early-life gut flora composition plays a crucial role in neurodevelopment. Frequent antibiotic use, environmental stress, and secondhand smoke exposure in early childhood increase ADHD risk
  • (Mercola)—In the U.S., 1 in 9 children between the ages of 3 and 17, or 7.1 million, have been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).1 Among them, 58.1% had moderate or severe cases, but 30.1% had not received any treatment for the condition.

Describing ADHD as an “ongoing and expanding public health concern,” the data, from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, also revealed that about 1 million more children had ever received an ADHD diagnosis in 2022 than in 2016.2

While the authors suggested increasing awareness and diagnosis, and stressors related to the COVID-19 pandemic, could be driving the rise in ADHD cases,3 other factors, including toxic exposures, are likely to blame.

CDC Data Highlight Steep Rise in ADHD

In 2016, 9.9% of U.S. children had been diagnosed with ADHD at some point in their lives. By 2022, this increased to 11.4%. As for the number of children living with the condition, there were 6.5 million in 2022. Among them, 77.9% had at least one co-occurring disorder, such as anxiety, depression, learning disability or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). More than half (53.6%) were taking ADHD medications, while 44.4% had received behavioral treatment.4

ADHD is considered a “chronic and debilitating” condition that can affect academic success and professional achievements later in life, along with posing challenges to relationships and daily functioning.5 Children with ADHD may have poor self-esteem and social function, while adults with ADHD often experience poor self-worth and increased self-criticism.6

There are physical health risks as well. People with ADHD are more likely to develop dependence on nicotine, alcohol, cocaine and other drugs, and have higher rates of obesity, self-harm and binge eating.7 An umbrella review published in Frontiers in Psychiatry emphasizes the significant toll this condition takes on a person’s life — highlighting the urgent need to identify its underlying causes:

“The findings reveal a spectrum of health and lifestyle risks associated with ADHD, encompassing mental health vulnerabilities such as addiction, suicide, eating disorders, mood, and personality disorders. Moreover, the review underscores the significance of recognizing key physical health risks, notably obesity, sleep issues, oral hygiene, injuries, and somatic diseases.

Crucially, the review unveils the broader implications on lifestyle, encompassing areas such as offending behavior, criminality, violence, employment, education, quality of life, relationships, and risk-taking.”

Parents With Chemical Intolerance More Likely to Have Children With ADHD

Parents who suffer from high chemical intolerance, which describes a range of symptoms that occur after exposure to mold, chemical inhalants, foods and food additives, pesticides, drugs and other chemicals, are 2.1 times more likely to have a child with ADHD, and 5.7 times more likely to have a child with autism.8

The researchers previously found an association between chemical intolerance and mast cells, and suggest “the global rise in autism and ADHD may be due to fossil-fuel-derived and biogenic toxicants epigenetically ‘turning on’ or ‘turning off’ critical mast cell genes that can be transmitted transgenerationally.”9

Exposure to insecticides known as pyrethroids in utero or during early childhood has also been linked to neurodevelopmental delays and behavioral issues. Among children aged 8 to 15 years, those with higher levels of pyrethroid metabolites 3-phenoxy benzoic acid (3-PBA) in their urine were twice as likely to have ADHD compared to those with lower levels.10

    Environmental Pollutants Involved in ADHD

Many environmental pollutants are associated with ADHD. A scoping review specifically found lead, phthalates and bisphenol A are “moderately to highly” associated with ADHD.11 Bisphenol A (BPA) and pesticides, for instance, can affect the brain’s serotonin and dopamine systems, leading to changes in behavior and neurological function.

Pesticides may also affect the cholinergic system, which involves the neurotransmitter acetylcholine. This system is important for learning, memory and muscle activation. Metals may contribute to ADHD by disrupting the way calcium channels, which are important for the release of neurotransmitters, work in the brain, as well as by affecting the N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor, which can lead to cognitive and behavioral issues.12

Air pollution is another likely factor. A systematic review of 801 studies revealed prenatal exposure to particulate matter 2.5 (PM2.5) air pollution is linked to a heightened risk of ADHD.13 PM2.5 air pollution refers to particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers or smaller. These fine particles are small enough to be inhaled deeply into your lungs.

The study also revealed a connection between ADHD and postnatal air pollution exposure, “underlining the potential neurodevelopmental harms from early exposure to these pollutants.”14 According to the study:15

“Research demonstrates that prenatal and early life exposure to pollutants can adversely affect brain volume and cognitive functions, leading to increased behavioral problems.

Specifically, exposure to PM2.5 during pregnancy is associated with reduced white matter in the brain’s left hemisphere, which may increase the risk of ADHD symptoms. Despite the profound implications of air pollutant exposure on neurodevelopment, potentially resulting in severe lifelong disabilities, its recognition remains limited, often referred to as a ‘silent killer.'”

Phthalates Linked to Attention and Behavioral Disorders

Ubiquitous exposure to phthalates, found in everything from food packaging to personal care products, is also putting children’s brain development at risk, according to Project TENDR (Targeting Environmental Neuro-Development Risks), a collaboration of scientists, health professionals and advocates for children and the environment.

The group formed in 2015 due to concerns that toxic environmental chemicals were playing a role in neurodevelopmental disorders including autism, attention deficits, hyperactivity, intellectual disability and learning disorders.16

In their April 2024 briefing paper for delegates, they call for policy reforms to protect the developing brains of children from the harmful effects of toxic chemicals in plastics, including phthalates. Regarding the chemicals, the paper notes:17

“Phthalates are not chemically bound to the products that contain them, and readily migrate into dust, food, and the environment. The class of ortho-phthalates has been clearly established as neurotoxic, including di-2ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), di-butyl phthalate (DBP), and butylbenzyl phthalate (BBzP).

A substantial and growing body of evidence documents the impacts of prenatal exposure to phthalates on brain development, including cognitive and motor function being affected in the preschool period, or later childhood/early adolescence, impacts on behavior, including poor executive function, attention and working memory, delayed language development, reduced IQ, and preschool and childhood ADHD.”

As rates of ADHD have risen, so too have everyday products containing phthalates, bisphenols and other chemicals linked to ADHD, making avoiding them difficult. For instance, Consumer Reports found the compounds in 84 out of 85 food and beverages tested.18 BPA was found in 79% of the samples, which included fruits, vegetables, milk, meat, seafood, baby food and more, while phthalates were found in all the products tested except one.

Other Toxic Exposures Linked to ADHD

Electromagnetic fields (EMFs) are the cigarettes of the 21st century — and most people are being exposed 24 hours a day. Most of the radiation emits from cellphones, cell towers, computers, smart meters and Wi-Fi, to name just a few of the culprits.

Exposure causes serious mitochondrial dysfunction due to free radical damage. Among the most common consequences of chronic EMF exposure to your brain may be chronic conditions like ADHD. Martin Pall, Ph.D., also discovered a previously unknown mechanism of biological harm from microwaves emitted by cellphones and other wireless technologies via voltage gated calcium channels (VGCCs) embedded in your cell membranes.19

VGCCs are found in high concentrations in the brain, and research involving animals has shown that even low levels of microwave EMFs can have significant and varied effects on the brain. Studies suggest that when these VGCCs are activated by EMFs, it can lead to a range of neuropsychiatric effects.

At least 26 studies have linked EMFs to neuropsychiatric effects, and five specific criteria have been used to demonstrate that this relationship is causal, meaning EMFs can cause these effects.20 An association between exposure to magnetic field (MF) nonionizing radiation during pregnancy and increased risk of ADHD has also been reported.21 While it’s nearly impossible to avoid EMF exposure completely, there are practical ways to limit it.

Exposure to multiple vaccines in childhood may also be involved. Dr. Paul Thomas, whose medical license was suspended due to his advocacy for informed consent regarding vaccinations, along with James Lyons-Weiler from the Institute for Pure and Applied Knowledge (IPAK), conducted a study comparing the health of vaccinated and unvaccinated children.22

Their findings revealed that vaccinated children experienced significantly higher instances of various health issues, including behavioral issues.23 Notably, among the 561 unvaccinated children, none were diagnosed with ADHD, whereas 0.063% of children who had received some or all recommended vaccinations were diagnosed with ADHD.

“The implications of these results for the net public health effects of whole-population vaccination and with respect for informed consent on human health are compelling,” they wrote.24 The study also points out that the rate of ADHD in the practice was about half the national rate. According to The Defender:25

“While scientists and public health officials often cite genetic predisposition as a causal factor in ADHD, Thomas said genetic vulnerability relates more to an increased susceptibility to toxins like the weedkiller glyphosate and aluminum in vaccines.

‘What some might call genetic is just a toxic effect of exposures in the womb,’ he said, citing the MTHFR single nucleotide polymorphism that ‘can make it more difficult to get toxins out of the body.’ Paul [Thomas] said MTHFR also affects one’s ability to produce enough dopamine and norepinephrine, the neurotransmitters thought to be involved in mental focus — an issue at the heart of ADHD.”

ADHD May Result From Disturbed Gut Flora in Early Life

The makeup of gut flora at birth and during the first year of life may also play a key role in the development of neurodevelopmental disorders like ADHD.26 In a study published in the journal Cell, researchers with the University of Florida study tracked a group of Swedish children from birth over a 20-year period to identify factors that might influence whether they develop a neurodevelopmental disorder.27

They collected extensive data from early in the children’s lives using detailed questionnaires about infections, antibiotic use, stress, prenatal conditions and family health history. They also analyzed biological markers such as metabolites in umbilical cord blood and stool, types of body cell proteins and gut bacteria.

Notably, the research connected changes in gut bacteria to neurodevelopmental disorders and identified early signs of mood and digestive problems. Infants who went on to develop these conditions were deficient in many bacteria known to promote gut health, including Akkermansia, Bifidobacterium, Ruminococcus and Faecalibacterium.

The study also revealed that children who had three or more ear infections treated with penicillin from the time they were born until age 5 were at increased risk of neurodevelopmental disorders compared to those in the control group, including being 3.27 times more likely to develop ADHD.28

Meanwhile, both environmental and emotional stress increased the risk of neurodevelopmental disorders, and toddlers exposed to secondhand smoke were 4.88 times more likely to develop ADHD. Overall, to protect brain health in utero and during early childhood and beyond, taking steps to not only improve gut health but also avoid toxic exposures is essential.
