The alleged cause of the breakdown was Crowdstrike, a cyber-security company that uses large scale data updates to Microsoft Windows networks to counter cyber threats.  Instead, the company uploaded bugged code and caused a cascading outage.  Mac and Linux machines were not affected.

The scale of the shutdown was immense.  25% of Fortune 500 companies were frozen.  Travel essentially stopped.  Business transactions for many companies stopped.  Some banks including Bank of America, Capital One, Chase, TD Bank and Wells Fargo could not function and customers could not access their accounts.

I remember the Y2K scare and, of course, that was all nonsense.  American systems were not digitized to any extent great enough to cause a disaster should there be an internet crash or a software crash.  Today, things are very different.  Nearly every sector of the US economy and many utilities are directly dependent on a functioning internet.

I often hear preppers talk about the imposing threat of an EMP leading to a grid down scenario. However, this kind of danger is highly overblown and exceedingly rare.  Even major solar storms have not caused the kind of electrical breakdown that theorists suggest might happen.  Instead, I would recommend worrying a lot more about cyber threats.  I believe these events will become common in the next few years for a number of reasons.

First and foremost, there is the potential for random error.  Then, there’s the potential for a false flag event blamed on random error.

In 2021 in my article ‘Cyber Polygon: Will The Next Globalist War Game Lead To Another Convenient Catastrophe?‘ I warned that if the pandemic crisis failed to achieve the centralization goals of the World Economic Forum and other globalist institutions, they may use a cyber crisis instead.  WEF head Klaus Schwab incessantly compared the idea of a “Cyber Pandemic” to the covid pandemic.  He suggested that governments would have to respond to both in a similar fashion (i.e. lockdowns and extensive controls on individual freedoms).

In the past I have written about a very interesting event that was barely covered by the corporate media called the “Fastly Outage.”  I examined the implications of this and more in my article ‘Obama’s Weird New Movie And America’s Extreme Vulnerability To Cyber Attack‘.

In June of 2021 there was an internet outage that led to large swaths of the web going completely dark, including a number of mainstream news sites, Amazon, eBay, Twitch, Reddit. A host of government websites also went down. All this happened when content delivery network (CDN) company Fastly experienced a “bug.” Although Amazon had its website back online within 20 minutes, the brief outage cost the company over $5.5 million in sales.

A content delivery network is a geographically distributed network of proxy servers and their data centers. They make up what is known as the “backbone” of the internet.   Only a handful of these company’s support a vast majority of internet activity.  All it would take is for a few to go down, and the internet goes down, taking our economy with it.

The recent Crowdstrike event is perhaps the worst web disruption of all time, and that was just a bug in a software update.  Imagine if someone wanted to deliberately damage internet functions for an extended period of time?  The results would be catastrophic.

With supply chains completely dependent on “just-in-time” freight deliveries and those deliveries dependent on efficient digital communications and payments between retailers and manufacturers, a web-down scenario for more than a few days would cause an immediate loss of consumer goods.  Stores would empty in hours should the public realize that new shipments might not arrive for a long time.

Keep in mind, I’m not even accounting for payment processing between customers and retailers.  If that shuts down, then ALL sales shut down.  Then, whatever food you have left in your pantry or in storage is what you will have to live on until the problem is fixed.  If it is ever fixed…

Network attacks are also difficult to trace, which means anyone can initiate them and anyone can be blamed afterwards.  With the increasing tensions between western and eastern nations the chances of a an attack are high.  And, corrupt government officials could also trigger an internet crisis and blame it on foreign enemies – Either to convince the public to go to war, or to convince the public to accept greater authoritarianism.

I believe a cyber attack is the next most likely global disaster.  We weathered covid and defeated the draconian mandates.  The economy is in the midst of a stagflation crisis but the system is still operating.  But what if the next ploy is a complete shutdown of the web and a fast moving financial collapse?

Figuring out who triggered the breakdown would be nearly impossible.  We could suspect, but tracing digital evidence to a source that doesn’t want to be found is exceedingly difficult.  In the meantime, western officials controlled by globalist interests could lock down internet traffic and eliminate alternative media platforms they don’t like, giving the public access to corporate news sources only.

There are millions of Americans out there ready for a systemic collapse.  According to surveys around 30% of adult Americans now consider themselves preppers.  But that leaves 70% of the population in a daze, unaware and panicking.  Will they care who was behind the attack?  Probably not.  They’ll be far more concerned with simple survival.

What are the most practical solutions to this?  As always we can store necessities to protect our families and friends.  To protect data, I recommend shutting OFF Windows Updates to prevent something like a Crowdstrike error from affecting your devices.  You can also set up a Linux-based device with all your important data storage secured.

You can purchase an exterior hard drive and clone your computer data, then throw it in a closet or a waterproof case.  Then there is the option of building a completely offline device (a computer that has never and will never connect to the internet).

These options protect you and your valuable information, but there’s not much that can be done to prevent a national scale cyber attack and the damage that one could cause.  Organizing for inevitable chaos and violence is all you can do.

With a cyber-event there is the distinct danger of communications disruptions – No cell phones, no email, no social media, nothing.  So, having knowledge in ham radio and radio communications is a must.  I’m a general class ham and I’m still finding there’s more to learn, but a basic knowledge of radios, frequency bands and repeaters will help you to at least listen in on chatter and get important information outside of controlled news networks.

The people who claimed it’s “doom mongering” to examine the threat of cyber attacks have been proven utterly wrong this past month.  We just witnessed one of the worst internet implosions of all time and more are on the way.  Prepare accordingly and remember that technological dependency is a double-edged sword.  Use your tech wisely and don’t let it run your life.

CrowdStrike CSO Shawn Henry Sold 4,000 Shares on July 15, Days Before Massive Microsoft-CrowdStrike Outage https://americanconservativemovement.com/crowdstrike-cso-shawn-henry-sold-4000-shares-on-july-15-days-before-massive-microsoft-crowdstrike-outage/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/crowdstrike-cso-shawn-henry-sold-4000-shares-on-july-15-days-before-massive-microsoft-crowdstrike-outage/#comments Sun, 28 Jul 2024 05:08:01 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=209995 (Natural News)—On July 15, just a few days before the Microsoft-CrowdStrike global tech outage caused by a corrupted anti-virus update (or so we are told), CrowdStrike Chief Security Officer Shawn Henry sold 4,000 shares of CrowdStrike Holdings Inc (NASDAQ: CRWD), a recent SEC filing shows.

After the sale, Henry now owns 183,091 shares of the company, which specializes in cloud-delivered protection of endpoints, cloud workloads, identity and data, according to Yahoo! Finance. CrowdStrike exists to prevent the types of breaches that occurred over the weekend with the crippling of global tech platforms.

Over the past year, Henry unloaded 85,986 shares of CrowdStrike at various intervals. During the same time period, Henry did not make a single purchase of CrowdStrike shares.

Henry is not the only person at CrowdStrike who followed this same MO. A total of 48 insiders at CrowdStrike sold shares over the past year. Not a single one of them made any share purchases during the same time period.

Are CrowdStrike insiders doing insider trading?

The day of Henry’s share sale, the price of a CrowdStrike share was $371.32, which gives the company a market cap of $89.81 billion. The company’s price-to-earnings ratio is an astounding 696.32, which is significantly higher than the industry median of 27.16.

CrowdStrike stock’s GF value is estimated at around $346.82, leading to a price-to-GF-Value ratio of 1.07. In layman’s terms, the stock is considered by the markets to be Fairly Valued.

Those who hold CrowdStrike shares may want to take note of these routine stock sales from Henry and other insiders who are slowly offloading their shares and not buying any more of them. What does this mean for the future of CRWD’s stock price?

After the global outage, CRWD’s price took a big dip of around 11 percent, prompting infamous ARK Invest CEO Cathie Wood to swoop up $12 million in shares.

The CrowdStrike update “glitch” affected tens of millions of Microsoft Windows users, including at airports, hospitals, banks and retailers. The effects of the outage were still being felt on June 22, the start of the following week.

Wood’s ARK Next Generation Internet ETF currently holds $1.45 billion in assets with CRWD now making up two percent of the fund. The ARK Fintech Innovation ETF purchased CRWD as well, which now makes up 1.3 percent of its $893.5 million portfolio.

Though Wood’s two ETF have declined substantially since their February 2021 peaks, Wood is reportedly buying up stocks she believes in with the hope that they will eventually bounce back, save for a market crash.

Wall Street ended up downgrading CRWD’s rating while slashing price targets, which drove the stock’s price down another 12 percent.

Microsoft, meanwhile, released a recovery tool to help IT admins repair Windows machines that were impacted by the update failure.

According to The Verge, the tool creates a bootable USB drive that IT admins can use to quickly recover machines that were damaged and lost files necessary for their operation.

Millions of Microsoft customers experienced the dreaded “Blue Screen of Death” errors preventing their machines from booting up properly. Rebooting damaged PCs multiple times will cause most of them to automatically receive the necessary update, but some machines can only be fixed, reports indicate, by manually booting them into Safe Mode and deleting the corrupted CrowdStrike update file.

The “Blue Screen of Death” Could Throw the Global Economy Into a State of Chaos for Weeks https://americanconservativemovement.com/the-blue-screen-of-death-could-throw-the-global-economy-into-a-state-of-chaos-for-weeks/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/the-blue-screen-of-death-could-throw-the-global-economy-into-a-state-of-chaos-for-weeks/#respond Sun, 21 Jul 2024 09:38:12 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=209864 (The Economic Collapse Blog)—It has become glaringly obvious that we are way too dependent on our computers.  The “largest IT outage in history” has thrown the entire global economy into a state of chaos, and we are being told that it could take “weeks” to fully recover.  Countless flights have been canceled, hospital services have been disrupted, online services are down for a number of big banks, and we are being told that millions of workers may not receive paychecks this month.

If a single software “glitch” can cause this much insanity, what would happen if the Internet was suddenly not available for an extended period of time?

A lot of people initially speculated that a cyberattack may be happening, but the truth is that virtually all of the chaos that we have been witnessing was caused by a CrowdStrike update

The issue was caused by a technical problem that global cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike said it had identified in its software and was working to resolve. CrowdStrike provides antivirus software to Microsoft for its Windows devices.

“Earlier today, a CrowdStrike update was responsible for bringing down a number of IT systems globally,” Microsoft said in a statement to CBS News.

To me, this is yet another example of the rampant incompetence that is plaguing our society today.

Didn’t anyone test this update before they released it to the entire world?

The CEO of CrowdStrike says that the issue has been identified and the problem has now been fixed

In a statement, CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz said the issue had been identified and a solution was being implemented. He added that “this is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.”

Unfortunately, this isn’t going to do much good for users that are now dealing with the infamous “Blue Screen of Death”

The notorious Blue Screen of Death is popping up everywhere, from banks to supermarkets and media outlets, causing widespread panic and confusion. All United, Delta and American Airlines flights were grounded amid the chaos.

According to one expert, if you are repeatedly getting the “Blue Screen of Death” right now there “is not a huge amount you can do”

Mr Pardo continued: “Unfortunately, there is not a huge amount you can do if your computer has the blue screen of death.

“Computer users will need to wait for their IT team to resolve the issue, and many people may need to work from their phone or use a pen and paper in the meantime.

“This is a wake-up call for all the companies that have been floored by this attack. Organizations need to urgently review their disaster recovery plans to make sure they can deal with such problems.”

This tech disaster has already caused tremendous supply chain disruptions all over the planet, and CNBC is reporting that it could take “days or even weeks” to completely resolve this crisis…

The CrowdStrike software bug that crashed Microsoft operating systems and caused the largest IT outage in history caused disruptions at U.S. and global ports, with highly complex air freight systems suffering the heaviest hit, according to logistics experts, as global airlines grounded flights.

“Planes and cargo are not where they are supposed to be and it will take days or even weeks to fully resolve,” Niall van de Wouw, chief air freight officer at supply chain consulting firm Xeneta, said in a statement shared with CNBC. “This is a reminder of how vulnerable our ocean and air supply chains are to IT failure.”

We certainly didn’t need this right now, because our economic numbers have already been heading in the wrong direction quite rapidly.

Meanwhile, the airline industry has been thrown into a state of complete and utter chaos

Over 1,800 flights had been canceled within, into or out of the U.S. as of Friday morning, and more than 5,000 others were delayed, according to the flight tracking service, FlightAware. Globally, more than 28,000 flights were delayed early Friday.

I feel so badly for those that are stuck at an airport at this moment.

If you are one of those people, you might not get to where you are supposed to go for a while.

This IT outage has also forced the cancellation of surgeries all over the nation

Gary Baulos in woke up at 3:30 a.m. on Friday for open heart surgery to fix eight blockages. A call from the hospital in Paducah, Kentucky, soon altered his plans. The procedure would be rescheduled because of a global technology outage that was derailing operations.

The 73-year-old retiree made the best of the situation, grabbing a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and pancakes at an IHOP before heading home to Marion. “I guess I’ll do it some other time,” he said.

Not everyone was as sanguine. Lydia, who asked that her last name be withheld for privacy reasons, had her surgery at the University Hospital of Maryland canceled. A waiting room full of patients and family members all got the news that operations were being placed on hold.

Were there people that died because they couldn’t get the care that they needed?

I hope not.

We are also being told that “millions” of workers may not receive paychecks this month because so many systems are down right now…

Millions of workers are at risk of not receiving their paychecks this month amid a global outage that could last weeks.

Several of America’s biggest banks saw their systems crash this morning, preventing people from accessing their accounts or receiving or sending money.

If you are supposed to get a paycheck on Friday, you are probably at greatest risk.

The CEO of the Global Payroll Association says that her organization has “received complaints from a number of clients who couldn’t access their payroll software because of the outage”…

The Global Payroll Association (GPA) warned that people ‘risk going without their wages’ because their employers or banks rely on CrowdStrike for cybersecurity protection.

It remains unclear how widespread the payroll disruption is, but Melanie Pizzey, the founder and CEO of GPA said her company had received complaints from a number of clients who couldn’t access their payroll software because of the outage.

Payroll systems typically need to be notified of any issues that would stop direct deposits from going through at least two days before the payday for the issue to be resolved in time.

This certainly isn’t the end of the world, but it is yet another example that shows how incredibly vulnerable we are.

I think that life was much simpler when we all relied on pen and paper.

Sadly, this is the world that we live in now, and much more chaos is on the way.
