I know the “Yes, Daddy, govern me harder!” crowd gets goosebumps every time the ignoramuses and perverts in D.C. create a new rule that comes with the threat of a good spanking, but it still amazes me how desperately today’s “journalists” desire for the government to tell them what they can and cannot do.

The United States of America has been around for two and a half centuries.  During that time, tens of thousands of federal laws, rules, regulations, and executive orders have been created to squash and squeeze Americans’ natural liberties into smaller and smaller sanctioned containers suitable for TSA inspection.  It would be interesting to know just how many more decades of legislating and how many thousands of additional recorded laws it would take before the masochists at The New York Times finally feel as if they have been sufficiently governed!

Mr. Edward Holman commented recently that the creepy JournoList community of leftist “reporters” who collaborated to push narratives and news coverage favorable to Barack Obama during his rise to power crippled the profession permanently: “A free press cannot secretly conspire to rig elections by coordinating to destroy candidates, movements (TEA Party, MAGA, etc) they dislike with false accusations by anonymous sources.”  I heartily agree.  The propaganda “journalism” legitimized by the JournoList cabal was as loud of a death knell for objective reporting (and the enduring independence of the press) as they come.

Equally demonstrative of journalism’s demise has been the corporate domestication of reporters and their lamentable transformation from an unruly gang of rebellious muckrakers and misfits who naturally despised the status quo into a docile pack of housebroken and primped-up poodles all desperate to service the “ruling class.”  You don’t get anything as noxious as a JournoList to eat through the body politic like a parasite through its host without first initiating a widespread campaign to spay and neuter those journalists in the profession packing cojones as well as brains.

At one time in America, newsrooms were headed by serious editors who knew that the best reporters are borderline sociopaths with such deep-seated distrust for authority figures that they’d doubt the deathbed confessions of their own mothers.  Those nosy, off-putting newshounds trampled through life as sloven and rumpled oddballs who effortlessly blended in with any town’s homeless population because both groups had a lot in common.

Now “reporters” are so invested in the permanent Deep State’s official narratives that they spend all their time dissecting the credibility of the occasional government critic.  Even worse, they have become so concerned with their appearance, prestige, and social media popularity that they grovel outside the halls of power and finance desperately seeking any feudal lord’s patronage and the promise of a golden ticket providing the perks and privileges of admission into the ranks of the hoity-toity.

How do you destroy a free press?  Fill it with people who hate free speech, look down upon the poor and powerless, and believe that only their opinions matter.  Then pay them to repeat and defend everything that the “ruling class” brands as an “official truth.”  It’s amazing how fast public dissent dries up when you bribe the “journalists” and censor anyone who notices.

A couple decades ago, any reporter worth his salt would have laughed in the face of some nansy-pansy critic accusing him of “hate speech.”  The most well-respected reporters would have either hung the libelous dross on their cubicle walls as meritorious decoration or tossed it in the bin, doused it with file drawer whiskey, and lit the calumny on fire.

Today’s JournoList poseurs, in contrast, act as both wimpy self-flagellators denouncing their own “privilege” before the priests of the DEI Inquisition toss them on the sacrificial pyre and Salem witch trial accusers all too willing to point the finger at anyone who dares to question the latest “politically correct” fads and “woke” fashions.  Today’s “reporters” have so betrayed the basic principles of their own profession that they believe it is their deranged civic duty to tell everyone else what they may or may not think and say.

Where did the American press corps leave its backbone?  Probably on Jeffrey Epstein’s pedo-island or some other place where integrity and self-respect are shortsightedly exchanged for fake titles, hollow accolades, uptown apartments, and petty vice.  Once you descend to that level of invertebracy where you slither along the ground like a supercilious slug, you find yourself writing articles for The New York Times demanding that Congress work harder to come up with new laws and punishments suitable for a population of citizen slaves.

“Reporters” are now so deferential to bureaucrats in positions of authority that they prostrate themselves before those most deserving of scrutiny.  As obsequious servants to a “ruling class” that sees them as expendable, today’s “journalists” empower the powerful and silence the powerless.  And when a “reporter” no longer serves those powerful interests, the Establishment’s exterminators need only decide whether to shrivel the offending slug with salt or squish it into gooey obsolescence.

Think that’s hyperbole?  Why has Julian Assange spent over a decade in legal purgatory and consular captivity while trying to avoid American incarceration and assassination?  Why is Edward Snowden now a citizen of Russia, rather than a celebrated whistleblower addressing college auditoriums here in America?  Why is Gonzalo Lira, Sr. mourning the torture and murder of his son in a Ukrainian prison, when Joe Biden could have freed the American citizen at any time?  Because Assange, Snowden, and Lira all reported truths that revealed the U.S. government’s criminality, corruption, and antipathy toward the Constitution’s Bill of Rights.  Because our “ruling class” believes the First Amendment, unfettered free speech, and a courageous free press are all threats to national security.  Because the American police state has no interest in seeking warrants or establishing probable cause before illegally spying on the American people.

Those who have sacrificed everything to report these stories have been eliminated or cowed into quiet complicity with a Deep State diametrically opposed to human liberty.  Those reporters who remain have chosen the lowly existence of common slugs.

Today’s “reporters” cannot possibly fathom why any person would want to be free from government coercion.  If we are all one day ushered into work camps for our “protection” and “reeducation,” it will be “journalists” from the nation’s “most prestigious” rags who write glowing articles about the State’s complimentary lodgings and new “woke” slogan promising that work alone will set us free.

In a world where the Deep State has declared war on free speech and the World Economic Forum’s “ruling class” claims “disinformation” is the greatest threat to human civilization, fearless truth-tellers are in great demand.  As truth-telling is no longer a skill of working “journalists,” citizen journalists have had to pick up the baton and run the race.  That’s the thing about free speech, though.  Nobody needs a government license to debate the facts or reject “official” lies.  Persuasive argument does not hinge on the expired prestige of reputationally-tattered publications.

An idea’s value does not require a censorship board in America or Europe to first pass judgment on its validity.  Free expression does not depend on the intervention of a language police force to first check whether each noun and adjective pass muster.  Speaking truth requires but one thing: the courage to stop licking power’s boots.

My feed carries over 300 conservative news sites, blogs, and video channels that updates in near-real-time and I read the headlines of about 90% of it daily. That’s literally thousands of headlines that I read with hundreds of the stories scanned and dozens fully read or watched. I have a unique understanding of the biases, styles, and nuances of these outlets and as a result I know who to trust, depending on the topic.

This is extremely important today, perhaps more than ever, with so many important events hitting us incessantly. On today’s episode of The JD Rucker Show, I’ll be going through as many of these outlets as possible with my assessments of the good, bad, and ugly. I’ll also be taking calls and reacting to chats as they come in to keep it as interactive as possible. This will also help me to learn more about other outlets; any time I do a show like this I get word about outlets that I need to add to my feed.

The Gateway Pundit

When it comes to speed of getting out breaking stories, few can compete with Jim Hoft’s outlet. They’re on the ball with the headlines and they have no problem with getting a little “fringe” from time to time. Sometimes their reporting is very short, but it’s fast so there’s always a tradeoff.

Revolver News

If The Gateway Pundit is often fast and thin, Darren Beattie’s Revolver News is often slow and thick with their original content. But they have the luxury of going in-depth with older important stories because they curate the breaking news from other sources on their homepage so they have the best of both worlds. Their coverage of January 6 is unmatched and their adherence to the MAGA philosophy us unquestionable.

Liberty Sentinel

Alex Newman is the most underrated journalist in America today. He has a sharp mind and a clear vision of the geopolitical threats Americans face today and into the future. If I had $100 million laying around I’d build a news outlet around him because the only thing he lacks is reach.

The Epoch Times

Of all the corporate news outlets out there, The Epoch Times is generally the most trustworthy. They are not afraid to call out Covid vaccines, voter fraud, or any of the other “taboo” topics the vast majority of corporate media sites avoid. An added bonus is that their economic news coverage is lowkey stellar; I would argue they have a better grasp of financial realities than sites like Bloomberg that supposedly specialize in money-talk.

Zero Hedge

Some have a problem with the “allegiances” held by the guys who run Zero Hedge, but I’ve found that it’s pretty easy to distinguish between any self-serving propaganda and the real news they deliver. And if The Epoch Times is stellar at delivering financial news that’s on-point, Zero Hedge does the deep dives some people need to get the full financial picture.

Michael Snyder is definitely polarizing. Some love him. Others can’t stand him. He’s an alarmist at times, but he puts in the time to do the research and draw conclusions based on an appropriate combination of facts.

Just The News

John Solomon’s outlet takes great care in being accurate. That’s part of their namesake, which means they will sometimes be a bit slow on delivering the news. On the other hand, they often get scoops. But whether the news is hot-off-the-press or a reiteration of what was being reported the day before, you can trust whatever they publish is going to be real and verified.

Alt-Market

Brandon Smith is a genius. I disagree with him from time to time as his assessments can occasionally be nihilistic, but for the most part he nails it. He’s an economic stallion who adores freedom and is willing to recommend actions the vast majority of journalists would think are too “fringe.” For this reason I read everything he ever posts.

Todd Starnes

It’s funny that in an article about news bias I find myself invoking my own bias about Todd Starnes. The Fox News refugee has really shined as an independent news outlet of his own, and I’m biased because I consider him to be a friend. But like Just the News, he and his team go to great lengths to make sure every word they publish is accurate. They also add the speed that other similar news outlets can’t match. If a story breaks, chances are high that Starnes has a story up within minutes.

Headline USA

If any news outlets deserves to be bigger than they are, it’s Headline USA. They do a fantastic job of getting the most important news patriots need to read, but for whatever reason they don’t get nearly the attention they deserve.

RAIR Foundation

Of all the outlets on today’s list, RAIR is the one that takes the most heat internationally. They’re often accused of being “Islamophobic” because their articles expose Islam, terrorism, and unchecked migration from Muslim nations into Europe. They don’t hide their concerns about these issues and as a result they get negative labels. But I’ve never seen them post anything that’s inaccurate. Being critical does not mean they’re wrong.

Natural News

Mike Adams, who I consider to be a friend, has put together one of the most controversial news sites on the internet. They’ve been cancelled more than other “fringe” sites like Infowars to the point that their links aren’t even allowed on Facebook. Before Elon Musk bought Twitter, you couldn’t post their links there either. But they’re absolutely fearless and tackle topics that others won’t touch. My only complaint is that some of their stories are aged. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing; just because a story broke last week doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be talking about it today.

Again, this list is far from comprehensive. It’s a starting point from which I’ll launch today’s show. We’ll be talking about a lot more news outlets and I’ll take calls from people who will almost certainly offer up outlets I’m not currently watching. The self-styled “fair and balanced” network, based in heavily gay-populated New York City, has long supported homosexual advocacy behind the scenes through its annual contributions to an LGBT “journalists association.”

But the last two years,  it began celebrating “pride” in June by running pro-LGBT “puff-pieces” that are every bit as one-sided as those produced by left-leaning networks like CNN and ABC.

This includes, shockingly, a June 2022 piece promoting opposite-sex “gender transitions” for children that regurgitates transgender-activist talking points without providing the “balance” of an opposing viewpoint. As with several other segments airing under Fox’s celebration of “LGBTQ+ Pride Month,” that story about trans teen Ryland Whittington was reported by the network’s openly homosexual reporter, Bryan Llenas.

With Fox’s blessing, Llenas appears to be coming into his own as the network’s chief on-air, LGBT ambassador, using his role in the corporation to produce segments overflowing with gay- and trans-activist jargon, thus coming off more as a “gay” cheerleader than an impartial journalist.

Below is Llenas’ story on Whittington, a biological female who announced she was a “boy” at age five and whose parents support her “transition.” The piece, now included in Fox News’ growing collection of “Pride Month” videos, features Ryland’s mother, who says, citing the potential of her gender-confused daughter’s potential suicide, that she had to choose between having a living “transgender” “son” and a dead (non-trans) daughter – a false choice, say

“What extraordinary courage displayed by Ryland, his sister Brynnley, father Jeff and mom Hillary,” Llenas gushed in the segment that first ran on Fox’s “America’s Newsroom” show. “I want to thank the Whittington family for speaking to us. It’s not easy, particularly at a time when transgender issues have been politicized.

“People are afraid of what they do not understand, Dana,” Llenas said, condescendingly, to then-“Newsroom” co-host Dana Perino: “This family hopes their story will lead to more understanding, more acceptance and, ultimately, more love.”

Fox News earned rare praise from its nemesis, left-wing media watchdog Media Matters For America, for the segment, while conservatives who have been outspoken against the “trans” agenda targeting children, were outraged.

Media Matters quoted Ben Shapiro, Daily Wire editor emeritus, who called the Fox segment “the most disturbing thing I’ve seen in quite a while.”

Conservative media critic Cliff Kincaid, founder and president of America’s Survival, said, “Fox News funds the homosexual lobby and has abandoned ‘fair & balanced’ coverage of the LGBTQ agenda and the GOP’s lack of serious opposition to it.”

Kincaid, who has tracked Fox’s leftward drift on LGBT issues for decades, cited the Ryland Whittington story: “The channel’s current LGBT Pride ‘Celebrating Diversity’ promotion on its website even highlights a Fox story about a ‘transgender teen’ who began ‘transitioning’ at the age of five and whose mother says it was God’s will.”

Working directly against its brand

It appears that Fox News was just getting started with that one-sided 2022 “Pride Month” pro-trans piece. Since then, and perhaps especially with its p0st-Tucker realignment under CEO Suzanne Scott, the network is doubling down with its pro-LGBT advocacy in the name of “pride.”

It was Scott who hired trans advocate “Caitlyn” (formerly Bruce) Jenner as a contributor in March 2022, while raising eyebrows on the right with her comment: “Caitlyn’s story is an inspiration to us all. She is a trailblazer in the LGBTQ+ community and her illustrious career spans a variety of fields that will be a tremendous asset for our audience.”

The network’s timing is curious, as the ramped-up Fox “pride” celebrations come just when everyday Americans are protesting LGBT-activist excesses committed in the name of “pride” and “equality” like never before.

Recent weeks have seen two highly successful conservative boycotts of the pro-transgender retail chain Target (for selling trans “tucking” swimsuits and “pride” clothing for little children), and the makers of Bud Light beer, which aligned with TikTok “trans” influencer Dylan Mulvaney as a brand ambassador in one of the most catastrophic marketing decisions every made by a major corporation.

One of the stunning aspects of Fox News’ executives’ now very public embrace of homosexual/transgender “pride” is that it directly undermines some of the talking points of their own conservative talk-show hosts, who are already suffering ratings losses due to the sudden ouster of the network’s one-time top talker, Carlson. The aftermath of that action and Fox’s attempts to silence Carlson have led many conservatives to boycott the network.

Promoting LGBT ‘pride’ at baseball games

Llenas was at it again with another Fox News “pride” advocacy piece featuring Billy Bean, the first openly homosexual Major League Baseball player. In the piece, the reporter expresses disappointment that more professional ballplayers have not “come out” as gay, but he gives Bean ample opportunity to shill for out-and-proud homosexuality in the national pastime – while completely avoiding the controversy of whether once-wholesome sporting events attended by many impressionable children should be promoting aberrant sexual and gender-bending themes.

Llenas glowingly describes Bean as follows: “Today, he is the senior vice-president in charge of diversity, equity and inclusion for MLB, working to ensure the the league is ready to support the next ‘Billy Bean.’”

Then Bean says: “When I started [in 2014] there were only two teams that had an official ‘Pride Night,’ and now we have almost the entire league and every club – all 30 – are participating in our educational programming for their players.”

Promoting gay Democrats

In another one-sided Fox News “Pride Month” story, Llenas ventured to Colorado to interview Jared Polis, a Democrat and the nation’s first openly homosexual governor. Not a word critical of Polis is uttered, as Llenas and Polis happily discuss the state’s (and the nation’s) first same-sex “First Gentleman,” Polis’ homosexual “husband,” Marlon Reis. Llenas states how Colorado used to be called the “Hate State” after passing a statewide measure banning “sexual orientation” laws.

The Federalist conducted an analysis recently that specifically looks at AP stories about “climate change,” “global warming,” and “climate disaster.” Such stories number in the hundreds, and in 2022 alone, the AP took in $8 million in “grant” money for the favor.

All that money goes straight into the AP‘s so-called “Climate Journalism Initiative,” which aims to employ 20 brand-new reporters whose job it will be to “transform how the AP covers the climate story.” Did these alleged reporters come up with the phrase “Biden’s hard-hat environmentalism,” we wonder?

In another of AP climate brainwashing, reporters mentioned former top Clinton adviser John Podesta, who is repeatedly quoted as overseeing the Biden regime’s Inflation Reduction Act and the $369 billion that was allotted for the regime’s green energy endeavors.

Nowhere in the AP report is it mentioned even once that Podesta has a questionably devious political history, having been dubbed the “White House cleanup chief” during the corrupt Clinton years.

“As a wire service, the hard-hat rebranding from the AP will appear in thousands of newspapers across the world as news,” writes The Federalist‘s Larry Behrens. “We don’t know if the millions the AP received for climate coverage played a role in helping Biden rebrand his energy policy, and that’s precisely the point.”

As they bankrupt local newspapers, the climate machine is replacing their reporters with new climate propagandists

As the world forges ahead into the abyss of the digital age, local newspapers everywhere are either struggling to survive or are already bankrupt. And ready to replace them are the hordes of climate propagandists being hired by the likes of the AP and funded by the federal government with your tax dollars.

It is a devious scheme that has been a long time coming, and the plan all along has been to eliminate all truthful reporting by starving the independent media of funding. Once obliterated, the climate brigade lies in wait to rebuild from the ashes a new “green”-centric propaganda machine, which it is now doing all across the country and around the world.

“It is no secret that across the country, particularly in rural areas, newspapers are struggling to survive,” Behrens explains.

“It’s not unusual to walk into a small-town newspaper and find one person covering what used to be two or even three different full-time positions. The environmental left recognized this struggle and is now providing money and reporter reeducation to fill the void with its own version of the news.”

One recent example of this is the nationally recognized Poynter Institute, which offered $15,000 grants to reporters or newsrooms willing to cover the Great Lakes area of North America – but with a catch. In order to qualify, potential grantees have to provide Poynter with “A brief description of what they will probe, why they believe there is a story to be told, and how they plan to report the story.”

In other words, in order to get that sweet, sweet cash, a reporter or newsroom must report the way Poynter expects: with a pro-climate change bent that accelerates the “green”-ification of the planet.

The Poynter Institute, by the way, gets “funding support” from the Joyce Foundation, which according to documents filed with the IRS is funded by Bloomberg Philanthropies, the brainchild of billionaire climate darling Michael Bloomberg.

CNN’s reaction to Tucker Carlson’s announcement of relaunching his show on Twitter started with three words that instantly polarized the conversation. They labeled him as a “Right-wing extremist,” prompting a storm of nearly 20,000 comments compared to 8,000 likes by the early morning hours Wednesday.

The left uses labels such as “right-wing extremists” or “fascist” so loosely with anyone that doesn’t wholeheartedly embrace wokeness that it’s impossible to take them seriously. Carlson is a populist whose worldview aligns with the masses. And while most in the masses that agree with him are on the political right, calling him an “extremist” is as disingenuous as calling Dylan Mulvaney a “woman.”

At least CNN didn’t call Tucker Carlson a “white supremacists”… though that label will almost certainly come soon as well.

Over time, disinformation can affect memory and influence actions of those who become emotionally connected or “brainwashed,” even after that incorrect information is retracted. The role of social media should not be underrated, especially among millennials and today’s youth, as disinformation coming from the US government through those portals has been nothing short of a disinformation tsunami.

Advances in technology have helped the CDC and Biden Regime rapidly spread disinformation about disease, climate, war, and resources

Young folks, including young adults, teens, and children, are quick to believe everything they see and hear on social media, YouTube, and by searching via Google. They don’t watch much TV news, talk shows, or read the newspapers, like the older generations still do. For example, entire communities of young people are convinced the world is getting hotter due to human activity and that we’ll all die of heat if we don’t stop using gasoline in the next decade or two. That’s environmental disinformation spread by regulatory agencies, like the EPA, on a grand scale.

Nearly all Democrats and Liberals are still wearing their bacteria-breeding masks from the pandemic, either out of sheer brainwashing (paranoia) or as a sense of collusion, or both. They don’t understand that the masks were always just a form of communist control of the populace, to see how badly they could be coerced, and to help breed disease and disorder during the scamdemic. Talk about a contagious form of disinformation. It was the masks that went “viral,” more so than any virus or “gain of function” parasites. Then came the Covid clot shots and the most dangerous and deadly disinformation campaign the world has ever known. It’s nothing short of a Vaccine Holocaust, and it’s still happening.

For politicians to continue embezzling American taxpayer funds on the grandest of scales, they must invoke war and somehow brainwash a large swath of citizens to support it. This is the case with the “War on Ukraine.” The brainwashing is right there in the name, as it declares that the war is ON them, and so they must be defended, as if the leaders of that nation are innocent of horrific crimes and NATO-funded atrocities. In fact, several chemical warfare bio-labs were built, funded, and revealed there, but the disinformation campaign by Beijing Biden and his cohorts has convinced many Americans otherwise. Ukraine forces are Nazi-sympathizers and deserve no assistance from our country, especially while the USA is suffering its own economic woes and supply chain dismantling.

Between the Obama regime and the Biden regime, over $15 trillion dollars has been printed and disappeared into thin air. None was spent on education, infrastructure, or military defense systems. It’s just gone. Some was given as handouts to keep people reliant on Big Government, only to try to ensure future votes from lazy, unemployed peons, illegal immigrants, and drug addicts. The disinformation campaign about money is splattered everywhere, while the tyrants in Washington DC (along with their globalist cohorts) try to rob the rest of the world of every single penny.

Then there are always disinformation campaigns run by the Democrats right after mass shootings. Most mass shootings occur when young men, often Democrats themselves, take psychotropic SSRI medications and use registered weapons to shoot up a school, mall, or movie theatre. Sometimes those events are completely staged by the FBI. Still, the disinformation narratives run across all mass media and social media so the ‘Dirty Dems’ can attempt to take away all guns from Americans and nullify the second amendment of the Constitution. This is nothing new, and it never works.

One of the first large-scale disinformation campaigns came with the Vietnam War, where American politicians continually lied and told American citizens we were “winning” the war, while putting Blacks on the front lines in what was later termed the “meat grinder.” Martin Luther King tried to blow the whistle on this disinformation campaign, but he was shot to death for it.

In other words, there is a completely different standard for misinformation when it comes from the mouths of pundits, pharma hacks and so-called “experts” at the CDC, FDA or on MSM. For example, when it comes to promoting the Covid clot shots, it’s fairly wide open to claim just about anything positive about them, even when it’s not based on science, data or clinical trials. Simply go on television and swear up and down that the Wuhan virus jabs are “safe and effective,” and have no side effects, and always work, and keep you from getting a “bad case” of coronavirus. Say anything and it remains posted, uncensored, unedited, never corrected or taken down.

On the other hand, say anything negative about the Fauci Flu stabs, and within minutes or hours it will be taken down or labeled as ‘misinformation’ and ‘disinformation.’ Even when the bad news about the clot shots is verified by scientific studies, autopsies of the vaccinated, analyzed data and thousands of VAERS complaints, according to MSM, it’s fake news, conspiracy theory and misinformation.

Simply go on YouTube or any social media platform and talk or publish information about all the injuries and deaths caused by the Covid-19 vaccines, and the search results in Google for those posts and videos will turn up nothing (if the information is not deleted completely). That’s why the jabbed-up masses are locked in their hypnotic state, while their blood is polluted with millions of toxic “spike protein” prions. Even if they hear some countering information to the lies they have adopted as truth, when they go to verify that information, Google tells them otherwise.

And they’re STILL UP on YouTube and social media. They even post faked CDC data that also has yet to be censored, corrected or taken down.

That’s how you know that the vaccine industrial complex (VIC) runs nearly all media, because the lies stay posted and the truth gets taken down, permanently. The vax-shills keep getting paid while the truth-tellers are de-funded and bankrupted by pharma. If you don’t bow down to the VIC, CDC and CCP (Chinese Communist Party) in Washington DC, then you are a “conspiracy theorist” and “domestic terrorist” spreading harmful disinformation that is responsible for killing fellow Americans, according to the script-reading pharma shills.

In a story titled, Here’s one factor that might peel Trump’s diehard supporters away, they tested out fake news stories purportedly published by either leftist Politico or right-leaning Breitbart. The stories about Trump were manufactured to see how Trump supporters would react to reading propaganda that painted him in a negative light.

We also wanted to see if different types of news coverage about Trump could widen or shrink this electability gap. In our experiment, we set up several different conditions, with participants divided up randomly into groups of roughly 200 people. We showed each group a different version of a fictitious news story — one that praised Trump for his work in office in 2020, one that was critical of it, and one that was neutral. We also labeled the stories as coming from either Politico or Breitbart. We tested those particular media outlets in a previous survey and found that respondents recognized them as neutral and conservative-leaning, respectively. The control group didn’t see any news story. (We debriefed the subjects later to inform them that the news story was fabricated for academic research only.)

Sadly (though not unexpectedly), it worked on some.

The results were particularly interesting when people in one of the experimental conditions saw an article from Breitbart criticizing Trump’s job performance. After reading that, some 45% of respondents said they would wave a wand to make Trump president, but just 35% wanted him to be the GOP nominee. What was a 5-point electability gap in the control condition turned out to be a 10-point gap in this one. The beneficiary of this experiment was overwhelmingly DeSantis.

While Trump beats DeSantis in the magic wand contest 45% to 21%, his advantage over DeSantis in terms of the nomination is far narrower — 35% to 28%. The intervention — a conservative publication expressing concerns about Trump — turned a coronation into an actual contest. This should be a serious worry for Trump.

Corporate media is very aware that despite the lack of trust Americans have in them, the people can still be swayed if they can get their anti-Trump propaganda in front of them. Perhaps the most important takeaway from this is that smaller corporate media outlets like Politico and Breitbart apparently have more credibility than legacy media. This makes sense, considering these sources are less concerned about pretending to be unbiased. Breitbart readers know the outlet leans right and Politico readers know the outlet leans left.

The powers-that-be will use whatever advantage they can find to manipulate people into doing what they want. This is why controlling the media has always been an important play for them. It’s also why more Americans need to wake up to the reality that if they want the truth, their best sources are going to be alternative, non-corporate media sites such as this one.

But there are problems with the story. For once, I am very hopeful that the fake news media fell for a story contrived by a radical leftist anti-life abortionist. If the story was made up, as journalist Megan Fox speculated about in a long Twitter thread below, then that’s one fewer victim of the depraved sexual predators who lurk across America.

Arguably the most compelling circumstantial evidence that the story may have been made up is the lack of reporting on a police investigation. We combed through dozens of stories on the topic looking for the one piece of information that could corroborate it, but it was never mentioned by any news outlet. Crimes of abuse against children must be reported to law enforcement by doctors. If this crime really took place, then a criminal investigation would almost certainly be underway and journalists of even mediocre caliber would be seeking updates from law enforcement. That has not happened.

Instead, corporate media has pounced on the story faster than a Trump scandal. But like most Trump scandals, there are reasons to believe this story was completely manufactured. Even leftist “fact-checkers” Snopes was unable to verify the story despite desperately wanting to do so.

It is extremely important that we give people the benefit of the doubt in such sensitive circumstances such as child rape. With that said, there are several aspects of this story that simply do not pass the smell test, most notably the person who selectively released the information. The truth may never come out if Dr. Caitlin Bernard made the story up. It’s not that the truth is impossible to find, but we do not have proper journalists in corporate media who are willing to do their job.
