Florida – American Conservative Movement https://americanconservativemovement.com American exceptionalism isn't dead. It just needs to be embraced. Sat, 09 Nov 2024 22:34:43 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.2 https://americanconservativemovement.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/cropped-America-First-Favicon-32x32.png Florida – American Conservative Movement https://americanconservativemovement.com 32 32 135597105 FEMA Official Who Had Trump-Supporting Houses Skipped in Florida Has Been Fired https://americanconservativemovement.com/fema-official-who-had-trump-supporting-houses-skipped-in-florida-has-been-fired/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/fema-official-who-had-trump-supporting-houses-skipped-in-florida-has-been-fired/#respond Sat, 09 Nov 2024 22:34:43 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/fema-official-who-had-trump-supporting-houses-skipped-in-florida-has-been-fired/ In a shocking revelation that underscores the deep-rooted politicization within the Biden administration, a FEMA supervisor has been terminated for instructing relief workers to bypass homes displaying support for Donald Trump during hurricane aid efforts in Florida. This isn’t just an isolated incident; it reflects a troubling trend where political affiliations dictate disaster response.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell confirmed on Saturday that Marn’i Washington was fired after whistleblowers revealed her explicit orders to “avoid homes advertising Trump” while canvassing Lake Placid, Florida. These instructions were not only given verbally but also documented in writing—raising serious questions about internal oversight at FEMA.

“More than 22,000 FEMA employees every day adhere to FEMA’s core values and are dedicated to helping people before, during and after disasters, often sacrificing time with their own families to help disaster survivors,” Criswell said in a statement. “Recently, one FEMA employee departed from these values to advise her survivor assistance team to not go to homes with yard signs supporting President-elect Trump.”

How can we trust an agency tasked with aiding all Americans when it allows political bias like this? It’s nothing short of disgraceful—this blatant disregard for neutrality is alarming.

“This is a clear violation of FEMA’s core values and principles to help people regardless of their political affiliation. This was reprehensible,” Criswell continued.

Criswell’s condemnation may sound strong on paper but does it reflect genuine accountability or merely damage control following public outrage? It begs the question: how many other employees share Washington’s views?

“I want to be clear to all of my employees and the American people, this type of behavior and action will not be tolerated at FEMA and we will hold people accountable if they violate these standards of conduct,” Criswell added.

Yet here lies another inconsistency: why did it take so long for decisive action against Washington? Reports indicate as many as 20 homes were neglected due solely because they displayed pro-Trump sentiments between late October and November—a staggering number considering these individuals desperately needed aid amid natural disasters.

Florida Rep. Anna Paulina Luna called the Daily Wire report “sickening,” voicing legitimate concerns about potential discrimination against her constituents impacted by Hurricane Helene and Milton.

“My district was one of the most heavily impacted by Hurricanes Helene and Milton, and it has been sickening to hear that more than half of my constituents were discriminated against for their political beliefs,” she said.

Luna points out what should alarm us all—the audacity with which government officials operate under perceived impunity when targeting everyday citizens based on their politics.

“Big government bureaucrats despise everyday Americans because they are not politically expedient for them.”

Her assertion rings true; bureaucratic elitism breeds contempt towards those who dare oppose progressive narratives even in times when solidarity should prevail over partisanship.

“I demand answers from FEMA Administrator Criswell,” Luna declared passionately. “Congress must fully investigate this matter. The days of putting Americans and America last are over.”

Criswell must address hard-hitting inquiries surrounding how such disgraceful conduct persisted unchecked within her agency until now—not simply fire someone amidst mounting pressure without addressing systemic issues contributing toward this failure!

“It is completely unacceptable that a FEMA official was allowed to exploit Hurricane Milton…”

Disasters should unify us rather than expose our divisions—yet here we stand today witnessing politics hijack humanitarian efforts at precisely our nation’s weakest moments!

The House Oversight Committee will be holding a heading about this later in November.

Trump’s administration must commit to a serious overhaul of FEMA.

Cat. 5 Milton Barrels Towards Tampa: GET OUT NOW https://americanconservativemovement.com/cat-5-milton-barrels-towards-tampa-get-out-now/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/cat-5-milton-barrels-towards-tampa-get-out-now/#respond Wed, 09 Oct 2024 13:26:46 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/cat-5-milton-barrels-towards-tampa-get-out-now/ (Zero Hedge)—Milton strengthened overnight into a devastating Category 5 hurricane with maximum sustained winds in excess of 160 mph. The National Hurricane Center reported early Wednseday that Milton was located about 300 miles southwest of Tampa, traversing the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico towards the northeast at 14 mph.

“On the forecast track, the center of Milton will move across the eastern Gulf of Mexico today, make landfall along the west-central coast of Florida late tonight or early Thursday morning, and move off the east coast of Florida over the western Atlantic Ocean Thursday afternoon,” NHC wrote in an advisory note.

The latest forecast states Milton will make landfall near Sarasota between 0200 ET and 0600 ET Thursday morning as a Category 4 storm.

One of the main concerns across the Tampa to Sarasota region will be the storm’s dangerous eye and eyewall unleashing record storm surges. Warnings have already been posted for much of Florida’s western coast.

Not good.

“Tampa is on a knife’s edge, but Sarasota, Siesta Key, Venice, Englewood, Port Charlotte, and Punta Gorda continue to look to experience the worst of the storm surge under this scenario,” Ben Noll, a meteorologist with New Zealand’s National Institute of Water & Atmospheric Research, wrote on X.

Noll continued.

Since Sunday, evacuations in the state have been the largest since 2017.

According to the Florida Division of Emergency Management, here are the areas under mandatory evacuation orders:

Charlotte County; Citrus County; Collier County; Hillsborough County; Hernando County; Lee County; Levy County; Manatee County; Pasco County; Pinellas County; Sarasota County; St. John’s County and Volusia County;

And voluntary evacuation orders:

Glades County; Okeechobee County; Dixie County; Hardee County; Miami-Dade County and Union County.

Evacuation order map:

GTFO.

Meanwhile, Tampa-area Sheriff Chad Chronister of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office told residents anyone who has not evacuated is “on their own.”

Chances are pretty strong that this is all just one big coincidence, that two of the most powerful hurricanes to hit the United States in modern history happened less than two weeks apart a month before the most important presidential election of our lifetimes.

Then again, who believes in coincidences? We discussed on today’s episode of The JD Rucker Show.

Florida Will Conduct Investigation Into Trump Assassination Attempt: DeSantis https://americanconservativemovement.com/florida-will-conduct-investigation-into-trump-assassination-attempt-desantis/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/florida-will-conduct-investigation-into-trump-assassination-attempt-desantis/#respond Mon, 16 Sep 2024 04:00:45 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/florida-will-conduct-investigation-into-trump-assassination-attempt-desantis/ Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Sunday announced the state will launch its own investigation into the apparent assassination attempt targeting former President Donald Trump earlier in the day.

The FBI has said in a statement it is investigating the matter as an assassination attempt, while law enforcement officials said on Sunday that Secret Service agents opened fire after discovering the barrel of a rifle at the Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida. The suspect was later arrested by sheriff’s officials in Marion County, the county’s sheriff’s department said.

“The State of Florida will be conducting its own investigation regarding the attempted assassination at Trump International Golf Club,” DeSantis said in a social media statement. “The people deserve the truth about the would-be assassin and how he was able to get within 500 yards of the former president and current GOP nominee.”

The Republican governor was referring to comments made by Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, who said the suspected gunman got between 400 and 500 yards of Trump and had an AK-47 with a scope pointed through a fence. The suspect was located by the agent around the fourth or fifth hole of the golf course, and Trump was set to approach the area, the sheriff said.

The investigation into the Florida incident at the Trump golf course is now being handled by federal law enforcement officials, the Marion County sheriff told reporters earlier Sunday.

Federal agents with the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) were helping investigate.

Trump’s campaign and the former president himself issued statements saying that he was safe and unharmed. No injuries were reported.

In July, Trump was shot in the ear during a Pennsylvania campaign rally that also left one attendee dead and two injured. Questions were raised about the Secret Service agency and possible breakdowns in how the rally was secured, leading to the resignation of the agency’s director.

The suspected shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, was killed nearly immediately after he opened fire at the rally. Few details about Crooks, including a motive, have been released since.

On Sunday, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas condemned violence against candidates and officials. His agency oversees the Secret Service and is currently overseeing an investigation into the Pennsylvania assassination attempt two months ago.

In a post on X, Mayorkas commended the Secret Service for “its quick action to preempt this apparent assassination attempt and protect the former President.”

“DHS and the Secret Service are closely working with federal, state and local law enforcement partners to learn all of the facts surrounding this incident. The safety and security of Presidential candidates and other protectees is the highest priority for the Secret Service, ” Mayorkas said.

Meanwhile, both President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee, have said they were briefed on the incident.

Biden released a statement on Sunday night saying he was “relieved” that Trump was not harmed in the incident, while also commending the Secret Service.

“I have been briefed by my team regarding what federal law enforcement is investigating as a possible assassination attempt of former President Trump today. A suspect is in custody, and I commend the work of the Secret Service and their law enforcement partners for their vigilance and their efforts to keep the former President and those around him safe,” he said.

The former president updated his fundraising website later Sunday with a message about his campaign efforts.
“FEAR NOT! I am safe and well, and no one was hurt. Thank God! But, there are people in this world who will do whatever it takes to stop us. I will not stop fighting for you. I will Never Surrender,” the website states.

DeSantis challenged Trump in the Republican primaries earlier this year before the Florida governor dropped out.

One Man Found the Infamous “Carpet Trails” in Florida That Lead to Enormous Bum Camps Way Back in the Woods https://americanconservativemovement.com/one-man-found-the-infamous-carpet-trails-in-florida-that-lead-to-enormous-bum-camps-way-back-in-the-woods/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/one-man-found-the-infamous-carpet-trails-in-florida-that-lead-to-enormous-bum-camps-way-back-in-the-woods/#respond Fri, 26 Jul 2024 19:20:58 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=209942 (The Economic Collapse Blog)—If you are still able to afford a decent home, you should consider yourself to be incredibly blessed, because vast numbers of Americans do not have a permanent place to live at this point.  Homelessness in the United States is at the highest level ever recorded, and it has been growing at the fastest pace ever recorded.  The homeless encampments that have been popping up all over our major cities have been making lots of headlines in recent years, but many of the homeless live and die in very isolated places far from public view.  What I am about to share with you should deeply sadden all of us.

Way back in the woods in southwest Florida, trails that have been made out of discarded carpets lead to absolutely enormous homeless encampments where hordes of homeless people have made homes for themselves.

One man was able to find these infamous “carpet trails”, and he posted footage of them on his YouTube channel

Coastal areas of southern Florida are very popular among the homeless because the nights never get too cold even during the winter.

But there are plenty of other hazards, and just trying to stay alive can be a real struggle.

Of course the west coast is dealing with an even greater crisis.

In Portland, homeless encampments have taken over vast stretches of the city and nobody seems to have any solutions.

KATU recently visited one of the most notorious homeless encampments, and they discovered that it has gotten even bigger since the last time they visited it…

This is what a collapsing society looks like.

Poverty and hunger are spreading like wildfire, and the deplorable conditions in many of our core urban areas are being openly mocked all over the globe.

In fact, in China they are actually “producing documentaries on the collapse of American cities”

The Chinese are now producing documentaries on the collapse of American cities. What this showcases is the grim aftermath of decades of deindustrialization, disastrous progressive policies, and an opioid crisis—ironically fueled by China.

“Chinese are making documentaries about ultra-extreme poverty and decaying cities since they don’t exist in China anymore,” X user S.L. Kanthan wrote in a recent post, accompanied by a short clip from the documentary highlighting the implosion of Oakland, California.

Since the video was narrated in Chinese, X user TranslateMom translated some of the captions, which said, “Everywhere is garbage … People don’t live in places. There are wanderers everywhere.”

One of the primary reasons why so many people are forced to live in the streets is because housing has become ridiculously unaffordable.

If you can believe it, there are now 237 U.S. cities where “buyers will find a price tag of $1 million or more on the typical starter home”…

A million-dollar price tag no longer means lavish and luxurious living. In more than 200 U.S. cities, buyers will find a price tag of $1 million or more on the typical starter home, a new Zillow® analysis finds.

The typical “starter home” — defined for this analysis as being among those in the lowest third of home values in a given region — is worth at least $1 million in 237 cities, the highest number of cities ever. Five years ago, there were only 84 such cities.

That is nuts! Who can afford to pay a million bucks for a “starter home”? This is what rampant inflation has done to us.

It has absolutely eviscerated our standard of living, and ordinary Americans such as you and I are feeling a tremendous amount of pain right now.

According to Zillow, California, New York and New Jersey are the states that have the most cities where a typical “starter home” costs at least a million dollars…

Exactly half of all states have at least one city with a typical starter home worth $1 million or more. There are 117 such cities in California, well ahead of New York (31) and New Jersey (21), which have the second- and third-highest numbers. Florida and Massachusetts round out the top five with 11 each.

Among metropolitan areas, the New York City metro, which includes parts of New Jersey and Pennsylvania, has the most cities with million-dollar starter homes at 48. The San Francisco metro has the next highest count at 44, followed by Los Angeles (35), San Jose (15), and Miami and Seattle, each with eight. Irvine, with a population of more than 300,000, is the biggest city with $1 million starter homes.

Of course California is also being overwhelmed by homeless encampments right now too.

Progressive policies have resulted in a chronic shortage of affordable housing, and that isn’t going to change any time soon.

Sadly, conditions are only going to get worse all over the nation because our economic momentum is rapidly taking us in the wrong direction.

For example, we just learned that credit card delinquency rates have risen to the highest level ever recorded

A growing number of Americans are falling behind on their monthly credit card payments as they continue to battle high inflation and interest rates.

New data published by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia shows that credit card delinquency rates in the first quarter of 2024 rose to the highest level since 2012, when the Fed began tracking the data. All stages of credit card delinquency — 30, 60 and 90 days past due — rose during the first three months of the year.

And another major retailer just went bankrupt and is closing lots of stores…

Home goods retailer Conn’s HomePlus filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Tuesday and announced plans to close at least 70 locations across 13 states.

On its website, Conn’s says it will close 18 locations in Florida, nine in Texas and seven in Arizona. Other states that will see stores close include Virginia, Colorado, Mississippi and Oklahoma, among others.

Everywhere you look, there is suffering.

But for the moment, those at the very top of the economic food chain are still thriving.

In fact, the wealthiest one percent have actually gotten 42 trillion dollars wealthier during the past decade…

The world’s richest one percent increased their fortunes by a total of $42 trillion over the past decade, Oxfam said Thursday, ahead of a G20 summit in Brazil where taxing the super-rich tops the agenda.

Despite this windfall, taxes on the rich had plummeted to “historic lows”, the NGO added, warning of “obscene levels” of inequality with the rest of the world “left to scrap for crumbs”.

A day of reckoning is coming for them too.

In fact, a day of reckoning is rapidly approaching for the entire planet.

Our system is fundamentally flawed, and decades of really bad decisions have brought us to a breaking point.

So please don’t look down on those that have lost their homes and have no place to live, because lots more people will be joining them soon.

Dr. Joseph Mercola: Is Florida Headed Toward a Dengue Fever Outbreak? https://americanconservativemovement.com/dr-joseph-mercola-is-florida-headed-toward-a-dengue-fever-outbreak/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/dr-joseph-mercola-is-florida-headed-toward-a-dengue-fever-outbreak/#comments Tue, 09 Jul 2024 09:11:44 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=209630
  • Dengue fever cases are surging globally, with 9.85 million suspected cases in the Americas from January to June 2024. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention warns of potential outbreaks in several states, particularly Florida
  • Dengue is transmitted by Aedes mosquitoes and has four virus types. Symptoms include high fever, severe pain and rash. Secondary infections with a different strain can be more severe
  • There’s no specific treatment for dengue. Mild cases are managed with rest and hydration. Platelet transfusions for severe cases are controversial and potentially harmful
  • Natural remedies like papaya leaf extract, elderberry, and garlic may help recovery. Nutrients such as vitamins C, D and E, and zinc can also be beneficial for dengue patients
  • Prevention focuses on avoiding mosquito bites through protective clothing, natural repellents and eliminating standing water. A nutritious diet and sun exposure for vitamin D can support overall health
  • (Mercola)—Cases of dengue fever, also known as “break-bone” fever1 due to extreme joint pain being one of its hallmark symptoms, are soaring worldwide, with many countries reporting higher than usual numbers. While a majority of the cases are seen in tropical and subtropical areas like South Asia, Africa and South America,2 U.S. health officials have recently sounded the alarm about a rise of cases in several states.

In June 2024, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued an alert regarding the increasing dengue incidents in the Americas.

As of the latest epidemiological update from the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO),3 a record-breaking 9,852,482 suspected dengue cases were recorded from January to June 2024 — that’s twice as many as the reported cases (4.6 million) in 2023.4 “This represents an increase of 231% compared to the same period in 2023 and 420% compared to the average of the last five years,” PAHO reports.5

Two Florida Counties Record Increasing Dengue Cases

With its humid, subtropical weather all year round — the perfect breeding conditions for mosquitoes — Florida is one of the states being closely monitored for a potential dengue outbreak. According to the CDC, 197 dengue fever cases have been reported in the state. While the majority are travel-related (meaning infected locals have recently visited other areas where dengue is endemic), there are also reports of locally transmitted cases.6

One of the most recent locally acquired cases was in Hillsborough County, reported by the Florida Department of Health on June 24.7 Meanwhile, Miami-Dade County has reported six locally acquired cases this year.8 Although significantly lower than last year’s numbers — Miami-Dade had 173 locally acquired cases in 2023 — it’s still a cause for concern.

Other states like Hawaii, Texas, California and Arizona have also previously reported small local outbreaks of dengue fever9 according to the CDC, cautioning residents to be particularly vigilant.

“Dengue remains less common in the continental United States, but in the 50 states so far this year there have been three times more cases than at the same point last year. Most were infections that travelers got abroad, and officials note there is no evidence of a current outbreak. But they also warn that local mosquitoes pose a threat,” CBS News reports.10

    Basic Facts About Dengue Fever

The dengue virus is a single positive-stranded RNA virus that belongs to the Flaviviridae family and is transmitted to humans by the Aedes mosquito species, particularly Aedes albopictus, Aedes polynesiensis and Aedes scutellaris.11 These small, black mosquitoes can be identified by the white stripes on their back and legs; the females lay their eggs in standing water. According to the Washington Post:12

“A single bottle cap filled with rainwater can hold more than 100 [mosquito] eggs, said Sadie Ryan, a medical geographer at the University of Florida who specializes in insect-borne diseases.

‘They’re tenacious, they’re pernicious,’ Ryan said. ‘Really, they’re just good at being everywhere.’ They behave like tiny vampires at a human buffet, flitting from person to person, potentially spreading disease with each bite.”

The Aedes mosquito can spread four types of dengue viruses, namely DENV-1, -2, -3 and -4, which are distinct but closely related. The CDC notes that about 1 in 4 people who become infected with the virus will get sick with dengue fever; the majority remain asymptomatic. When symptomatic, dengue fever could be either mild or severe.13

Dengue’s incubation period — from the time between exposure to when the symptoms start to manifest — is typically between four and seven days, although in some cases it can take as long as 14 days.14 Symptoms include:

    • A high fever around 104 degrees F or (40 degrees C)
    • Severe headache
    • Pain behind the eyes
    • Joint and muscle pain
    • Nausea and vomiting
    • Swollen glands
    • Rash

Children with dengue fever may also experience common cold and gastroenteritis-like symptoms.15 In rare instances — about 1 in 20 patients — dengue fever can develop into a severe illness. Signs of severe dengue usually appear one to two days after the fever has subsided, and if not treated, may lead to shock, internal bleeding or even death.16

If you have been diagnosed with dengue fever and experience the symptoms below, it’s crucial to seek immediate treatment right away:17,18

    • Severe abdominal pain or tenderness
    • Vomiting (at least three times in 24 hours)
    • Bleeding from the nose or gums
    • Feeling extremely tired or restless
    • Vomiting blood or blood in the stool
    • Rapid breathing
    • Pale and cold skin
    • Increased thirst

Puerto Rico Has Declared a Dengue Epidemic

Although severe dengue fever may occur during primary infection, most instances occur during secondary infection — this is when you have been previously infected with one DENV strain and then re-infected with another strain. CBS explains:19

“When someone is first infected, their body builds antibodies against that type for life. If they get infected with another type of dengue, the antibodies from the first infection may fail to neutralize the second type —and actually can help the virus enter immune cells and replicate.”

This is a growing concern in Puerto Rico, which has been widely exposed to DENV-1 for the last two decades. According to Dr. Gabriela Paz-Bailey, the Puerto Rico-based chief of the CDC’s dengue branch, “We’re currently seeing increases in the cases due to dengue 2 and dengue 3, for which the population has very little immunity.”20

Puerto Rico declared a dengue epidemic in March 2024, with 549 cases reported and more than 340 hospitalized.21 Most of the cases were seen in the capital of San Juan. In May, the island reported its first dengue-caused death for the year.22 By June, the number soared to a whopping 1,498 cases,23 which is higher than the overall dengue cases (1,293) from all of 2023.24

But it isn’t just Puerto Rico and the Americas that are experiencing this surge. Worldwide, dengue cases have substantially increased in the last five years, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). Currently, 90 countries have known active transmission of this disease.25

There’s No Conventional Treatment for Dengue

Dengue fever is rarely fatal, but if you do fall ill because of this infection, it’s crucial to manage your symptoms and stay hydrated to help yourself recover. There is no known treatment for dengue; mild cases can be managed at home with pain medication and fluids. In severe cases, hospitalization may be necessary to ensure proper recovery.

The dengue virus messes with your bone marrow cells, which inhibits platelet production.26 This leads to thrombocytopenia, or a rapid decline in platelet count. As a result, platelet infusions are often advised with conventional treatment.

However, there’s growing research27,28,29 stating that transfusions to increase platelet count is questionable, and may cause further negative effects. One study, published in 2022 in the journal Case Reports in Hematology,30 notes:

“Thrombocytopenia is a very common clinical manifestation in dengue. The platelet count may drop very abruptly, but most of the time it follows its own clinical course and should be managed conservatively … It is very important for clinicians to know that platelet transfusions have no benefit in treating thrombocytopenia in dengue and should be avoided as they may cause significant side effects.”

Three years ago, New Delhi, India, experienced a dengue fever outbreak, which overwhelmed their local hospitals and led to a high demand in platelets. However, while patients manifesting severe symptoms like very low platelet count, internal bleeding or rashes may benefit from transfusions, the doctors were generally against preventive transfusions.31

In a Times of India article,32 Dr. Jyoti Kotwal, chairperson of the department of hematology at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, commented:

“Transfusion runs the risk of transmitted infections. Platelet transfusion should not be overprescribed. In our hospital, we conduct immature platelet fraction tests before deciding whether a patient needs transfusion or not. It measures young platelet count instead of absolute count, which is a more reliable indicator of severity.”

Dr. Rommel Tickoo, director of internal medicine at Max Saket Hospital, echoed this sentiment, and said majority of patients can benefit from proper hydration and supportive therapy instead, as well as getting tested on time.

“We see patients who keep waiting at home with high fever for five to six days and rush to hospital with severe symptoms. … Get the dengue test done if fever and other symptoms persist for two days or more for timely diagnosis and treatment,” he advised.33

These Natural Remedies May Help With Dengue Recovery

While there are no medications that can cure dengue fever, you can turn to certain foods, herbal remedies and supplements to help naturally strengthen your immune system, increase platelet count and manage symptoms to help facilitate the healing process.

In one 2023 study,34 for example, scientists found that four types of carbohydrate-binding agents (CBAs) can help prevent the dengue virus from attaching to host cells, inhibiting the infection’s progress.

Amaryllis (Hippeastrum hybrid), Bovine lactoferrin (a protein found in cow’s milk), stinging nettle (Urtica dioica) and common snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) were found to interfere with the virus’s ability to attach to healthy cells. This helps inhibit infection in the early stages:

“It was shown that the binding of HHA to the DENV-2 E protein blocked the interactions between DENV-2 and DC-SIGN, subsequently interfering with DENV-2 attachment to the host cells.

This indicated that these CBAs acted during an early stage of DENV infection by preventing viral attachment to DC-SIGN receptors on host cells,” the researchers noted.35

In addition, certain herbal remedies have antiviral properties that may help with dengue fever recovery. These include:

1.Carica papaya (Caricaceae) — A 2024 study published in the Asian Plant Research Journal36 says that leaf extracts of this exotic plant, native to Sri Lanka, can “neutralize plasma with the dengue virus, reduce platelet aggregation, and increase the production of the enzyme ALOX12, which promotes platelet production” in dengue patients.

An earlier study, published in the Sri Lankan Journal of Infectious Diseases in 2021,37 found that C. papaya extracts may help inhibit DENV-1 infections, suggesting “the potential of C. papaya leaf extract for future development of antiviral drugs against DENV-1.”

2.Euphorbia hirta (Euphorbiaceae) — Also known as “asthma plant,” this branched herb only grows up to 70 centimeters high but shows promising potential with its antiviral properties. One analysis published in 202238 notes that clinical investigations of E. hirta among dengue patients ages 30 to 35 years old found that supplementing with this herb helped reduce flu-like symptoms by approximately 70%. According to the study authors:39

“The in vitro analysis of the ethanolic extract of the plant showed remarkable inhibition of plaque formation up to 85% and 34.7% against DENV-1 and DENV-2, respectively.”

In the Philippines, where more dengue cases are being reported this year compared to 2023,40 a water decoction made with E. hirta leaves is used to help recover from this condition.41

3.Velvetleaf (Cissampelos pareira) — Native to Sri Lanka, India and the Amazon forest, velvetleaf is a flowering plant that belongs to the Menispermaceae family. A study42 highlights it as one of the botanicals that have shown promise in inhibiting DENV replication, noting that:

“Almost all parts … like aerial parts, roots, and stem barks as well as the whole plants show protective effects against DENV, which are not restricted to DENV-2 or DENV-1 only, but also against type 3 (DENV-3) and type 4 (DENV-4).”

4.Elderberry (Sambucus nigra L.) — Belonging to the family Adoxaceae, elderberry is rich in flavonoids, which are responsible for its antiviral activity. Aside from the extract, elder flowers and leaves were found to have antiviral effects against the DENV-2 strain, at concentrations of 400 micrograms/milliliter (ug/ml).43

5.Garlic (Allium sativum) — Garlic has been widely praised for its antibacterial, antioxidant, anticarcinogenic and other therapeutic properties. One study notes that the organosulfur compounds in this herb, particularly diallyl disulfide (DADS), diallyl sulfide (DAS) and alliin, may significantly inhibit the inflammatory cytokines in DENV-2 infection.44

Nutrition Matters — Boost Your Intake of These Nutrients

Getting enough rest, staying hydrated and consuming a healthy diet are all essential strategies if you’re recovering from a viral disease like dengue fever. During this time, it’s particularly important to get sufficient amounts of healthy nutrients, as some may particularly help speed up the healing process.

A 2021 literature review published in the American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene45 highlights studies from several countries on how supplementing with certain micronutrients may “offer hypothetical benefits to dengue patients via numerous potential mechanisms, including modulation of the host immune response.” Some of the nutrients mentioned include:

    • Vitamin C — Indian researchers46 found that patients who were given supplemental vitamin C not only had a shorter hospital stay, but also had higher platelet counts than those who did not take the supplement.
    • Vitamin D — A study from Pakistan47 divided dengue patients into two groups; only those in the first group received vitamin D supplements. The researchers found that ؅those who did not receive the supplement were more likely to develop dengue hemorrhagic fever.
    • Vitamin E — Researchers from Sri Lanka48 noted that dengue patients who received vitamin E supplements showed “improvements in various clinical and hematological parameters, including significantly higher subsequent platelet counts among patients admitted for thrombocytopenia.”
    • Zinc — A study49 conducted in Thailand found that supplementing with zinc led to a shorter duration of hospitalization among children infected with dengue.

If you consume a healthy, well-balanced diet loaded with whole foods including fruits and vegetables, you’ll have no shortage of these nutrients. For example, kiwi, dragon fruit and papaya are rich in vitamins A, C, E and potassium, all of which may help promote immunity and increase your platelet count naturally.50 As for vitamin D, the best way to boost your levels is to get regular sun exposure as close to solar noon as possible.

Prevention Is Still the Best Course of Action

Summer is the best season to spend time in nature and under the sun, but the fear of being bitten by disease-ridden mosquitoes can make you hesitate. In order to keep you from becoming a mosquito magnet during this season, I recommend taking these preventive measures, so you can spend time outside without any worries:

    • Wear long sleeves and pants if you know you’ll be outdoors in a mosquito-prone area.
    • Use natural insect repellants (not synthetic chemical versions), like cinnamon leaf oil, citronella essential oil or catnip oil, if necessary.
    • Use a house fan in your backyard to keep mosquitoes away while you’re outdoors.
    • Strategic planting of marigolds, which mosquitoes tend to stay away from.
    • Drain standing water, including pet bowls, gutters, garbage and recycling bins, spare tires, bird baths and children’s toys, as this is where mosquitoes breed.
    • Install a bat house, as mosquitoes are one of their favorite meals.

Millions in Drug Money Has Made Its Way Into the South Florida Commercial Real Estate Market https://americanconservativemovement.com/millions-in-drug-money-has-made-its-way-into-the-south-florida-commercial-real-estate-market/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/millions-in-drug-money-has-made-its-way-into-the-south-florida-commercial-real-estate-market/#comments Fri, 14 Jun 2024 12:06:17 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=206180 (Zero Hedge)—A new report is revealing how illegal drug funds have made their way through the commercial real estate market in South Florida “and beyond”, according to Bisnow.

Among examples was Miami’s Sefira Capital, who agreed to forfeit over $29M in 2021 to settle a DEA investigation into money laundering, though it admitted no wrongdoing.

The firm was accused of ignoring red flags about investor funds and was implicated in a DEA sting operation, revealing millions in drug money flowed through its investment fund, Bisnow reports.

The probe included a $63M hotel acquisition near Washington, D.C., and an office building in Fort Lauderdale used by Broward County prosecutors.

This case is among five highlighted in a report on money laundering risks in commercial real estate by Global Financial Integrity and others, noting $2.6B laundered across 22 states, with California, Florida, and New York being the top destinations.

The DOJ alleged that between 2016 and 2019, Sefira Capital raised millions in criminal proceeds without sufficient due diligence, ignoring red flags like discrepancies in sender names and investment amounts.

The firm received funds from criminals using The Black Market Peso Exchange, which allowed drug traffickers to swap U.S. dollars for local currencies.

As part of the DEA investigation, dollars were bought on the black market and transferred to Sefira’s U.S. accounts under the guidance of money laundering brokers.

Sefira Capital, founded by Aby Galsky and Mijael Attias in late 2015, purchased at least seven properties in Florida and three in South Florida from 2015 to 2021, allegedly using laundered money. In a statement to Bisnow, Sefira claimed no knowledge or intent regarding the funds’ origins, stating they were passive recipients.

Sefira’s joint venture with Highline Real Estate Capital included buying and later selling the Courthouse Place office near the Broward County courthouse. Highline’s founder, David Moret, stated the DEA did not investigate their joint venture properties.

Sefira’s acquisitions also included The Jaxon Apartments in Jacksonville, a Tampa office building, and a self-storage facility in Naples. A significant purchase was the Westin Tysons Corner, acquired with Driftwood Capital and Merrimac Ventures for $62M in 2018. Driftwood stated that Sefira was a passive limited partner.

In 2021, Sefira settled with the DOJ, agreeing to forfeit $22.5M in assets and pay $6.5M to avoid foreclosure. Galsky and Attias have since parted ways with Sefira and started new firms. Sefira’s website remains active, listing several properties, but the company lacks social media presence and is not mentioned in the founders’ LinkedIn profiles.

A Russian Submarine Capable of Launching Nuclear Missiles Just Cruised Along the Coast of Florida https://americanconservativemovement.com/a-russian-submarine-capable-of-launching-nuclear-missiles-just-cruised-along-the-coast-of-florida/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/a-russian-submarine-capable-of-launching-nuclear-missiles-just-cruised-along-the-coast-of-florida/#comments Wed, 12 Jun 2024 08:40:23 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=205883 (End of the American Dream)—A Russian submarine and a Russian frigate that are both capable of nuking U.S. cities were both spotted traveling approximately 25 miles from the coast of Florida, but most of the U.S. population did not receive the message that the Russians were trying to send.  By sending these warships along the coast of Florida, the Russians are warning that they will use nuclear weapons if they are pushed too far, but hardly anyone seems to care.

The mainstream media insists that these vessels are “no threat” and that there is no risk that a full-blown nuclear conflict will erupt any time soon.  But while our experts are assuring us that everything will be just fine, the Russians are feverishly preparing for a worst case scenario.

In recent days, a flotilla of four Russian war vessels has been practicing “the use of high precision weapons in the Atlantic ocean”

Russian warships are practising the use of high precision weapons in the Atlantic ocean, Russia’s defence ministry said on Tuesday, putting the US on alert.

Vladimir Putin’s most modern frigate Admiral Gorshkov, a hypersonic missile carrier, is accompanying nuclear submarine Kazan and two other naval vessels.

The drills involve hitting targets from a distance of more than 370 miles, Russia’s defence ministry said in a statement, and follow an exercise in anti-aircraft fire.

All four vessels are set to arrive in Havana on Wednesday and will pass 25 miles from the coast of the United States on their journey, according to reports.

On their way to Havana, they were expected to get quite close to the coast of Florida, and that is precisely what happened on Tuesday

Three Russian Navy ships and a nuclear-powered submarine seem to be passing the Florida coast Tuesday, June 11, on the way to Cuba for a military exercise, according to open-source intelligence analysts on social media. A tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter, said that the US Coast Guard Cutter Stone may be shadowing the Russian flotilla off the east coast of Florida abeam of Cape Canaveral.

On Wednesday, June 5, a U.S. official told the media that Russia planned to conduct naval exercises with combat vessels in the Caribbean region. The United States did not see the expected arrival of the flotilla to the Western Hemisphere to be threatening, but the official told Reuters the U.S. Navy will monitor the exercises. The officials spoke on the condition of anonymity to provide details that had not been made public yet.

The Kazan and the Admiral Gorshkov are both capable of carrying nuclear weapons, and they are both considered to be “key vessels in Putin’s nuclear strike force”

Despite this, both the Admiral Gorshkov and the Kazan are normally key vessels in Putin’s nuclear strike force.

Russia has not stated what firepower is being carried by his flotilla.

Of course the Russians do not intend to attack us at this time.

And Cuban authorities are openly telling us that even though they are capable of doing so, “none of the vessels is carrying nuclear weapons”

Kazan and three other Russian naval vessels – missile frigate Admiral Gorshkov, fleet replenishment tanker Pashin and a salvage tug Nikolai Chiker – will dock in the Cuban capital from June 12 to 17, Cuba’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in two statements on Jun. 6, 2024. “None of the vessels is carrying nuclear weapons, so their stopover in our country does not represent a threat to the region,” it added.

But everyone agrees that having these vessels travel so close to the coast of Florida was about sending us a message.

We are being told that the Admiral Gorshkov is armed with highly advanced hypersonic missiles that have a range of over 1,000 kilometers

The Admiral Gorshkov is armed with new Zircon hypersonic missiles. The weapon has been designed to arm Russian cruisers, frigates and submarines and could be used against both enemy ships and ground targets.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has touted Zircon as a potent weapon capable of penetrating any existing anti-missile defenses by flying nine times faster than the speed of sound at a range of more than 1,000 kilometers (over 620 miles).

Even though the Admiral Gorshkov is not carrying nukes at the moment, Zircon hypersonic missiles are capable of delivering nuclear payloads.

If Zircon hypersonic missiles are launched from a Russian warship positioned just off the east coast, they would start hitting targets inside the U.S. in just a matter of moments.

And we would have no way to defend against that.

CBS News is also telling us that the Russians are about to conduct a military exercise in the Caribbean that will involve “Russian long-range bombers flying along the U.S. East Coast”…

The announcement came a day after U.S. officials said that Washington had been tracking Russian warships and aircraft that were expected to arrive in the Caribbean for a military exercise. They said the exercise would be part of a broader Russian response to the U.S. support for Ukraine.

Those exercises will likely include Russian long-range bombers flying along the U.S. East Coast, according to CBS News national security correspondent David Martin.

The Russians are clearly trying to get our attention.

They are telling us that we are pushing things in Ukraine too far.

Just this week, it was being reported that a Ukrainian warplane has hit targets inside Russian territory for the first time…

A Ukrainian warplane has for the first time fired a weapon that struck a target inside Russia, a Ukrainian military source has told Sky News.

The source said a “Russian command node” was hit on Sunday in the area of Belgorod, western Russia.

Belgorod is close to the border with northeastern Ukraine.

If the Ukrainians decide to get really bold and start hitting Moscow with long-range weapons provided by western powers, there is no telling what the Russians might do.

I strongly recommend that we try to find a peaceful way out of this mess while we still can.

Meanwhile, the head of US Indo-Pacific Command is warning that he intends to create a “hellscape” for the Chinese if they pull the trigger on an invasion of Taiwan…

The US military is planning to create a “hellscape” of drones in the Taiwan Strait if China moves to attack Taiwan, the top US military commander in the region has told The Washington Post.

Adm. Samuel Paparo, the head of US Indo-Pacific Command, told Post columnist Josh Rogin that the idea would be to send thousands of drones, unmanned submarines, and drone boats into the Strait to buy time for the US and Taiwan to prepare a defense of the island.

“I want to turn the Taiwan Strait into an unmanned hellscape using a number of classified capabilities,” Paparo said. “So that I can make their lives utterly miserable for a month, which buys me the time for the rest of everything.”

A decade ago, talk of a major war between the U.S. and China was considered to be nonsense. But now we are almost there.

In the Middle East, exchanges of fire between the IDF and Hezbollah have “grown from daily to almost hourly”

The mountain villages and rolling valleys along Israel’s border with Lebanon already feel like a war zone.

The booms of intercepted rockets and drones regularly shake the air. Plumes of smoke rise from hillside explosions as firefighters race to keep blazes from engulfing residential neighborhoods. The pace of Hezbollah and Israeli strikes has grown from daily to almost hourly, according to the civilians, local officials and soldiers who remain in the area.

“Each week it’s becoming more frequent and more intense,” said Liron, the deputy commander of an army squad that was crowded into a shelter during an air raid alert Thursday. He spoke on the condition that he be identified by his first name because he was not authorized to talk to the media.

It is just a matter of time before the Middle East erupts in flames.

There are 60,000 Israelis that cannot return to their homes in northern Israel until the threat that Hezbollah poses is neutralized, and one recent survey discovered that the Israeli people are overwhelmingly in favor of a military campaign against Hezbollah…

U.S. negotiators are trying to head off an escalation, but Israel is under growing domestic pressure to halt the Hezbollah launches and allow more than 60,000 displaced civilians to return to their homes after eight months of living in hotels and shelters around the country. A poll Friday by the Hebrew-language daily Maariv found that 62 percent of Israelis support the idea of a decisive attack on Hezbollah.

    There is just one problem.

The moment that the IDF goes into southern Lebanon, it will mean all-out war with Hezbollah and thousands of highly advanced missiles will start raining down on Israeli cities.

    Israel could easily handle Hamas.

    Hezbollah is another matter entirely.

The three wars that I have discussed in this article are the exact same three wars that I have been warning my readers about for years.

War in the Middle East is here, war with Russia is here, and war with China is rapidly approaching.

But the vast majority of the population is still sleeping, and most of them won’t understand what is happening until it is too late.

DEI’s Demise: University of North Florida Closes Divisive Department https://americanconservativemovement.com/deis-demise-university-of-north-florida-closes-divisive-department/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/deis-demise-university-of-north-florida-closes-divisive-department/#respond Sat, 04 May 2024 14:13:53 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=203191 (Daily Signal)—The University of North Florida closed its diversity, equity, and inclusion office on Wednesday, but DEI personnel were given new job titles, rather than being fired.

The former chief diversity officer, Richmond Wynn, was not fired, but given a new title—vice president of community engagement and partnerships.

In the new role, Wynn is responsible for “developing and implementing comprehensive strategies to establish and enhance mutually beneficial relationships between the university and communities, stakeholders, and industry partners,” according to his LinkedIn profile.

He also “works with other UNF departments to facilitate and promote on-campus community engagement activities that embed civility and a culture of care throughout UNF, institutional values that support a safe and welcoming environment for all students, faculty and staff.”

Wynn did not respond to a request for comment.

When asked if the job description means Wynn will continue to promote DEI-related initiatives at UNF, a spokeswoman for the university said the closing of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and its centers is in response to Florida state Senate Bill 266 and regulations approved by the Florida Board of Governors of the State University System of Florida.

Signed by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis last May, the law bars public colleges and universities from spending taxpayer dollars on DEI programs.

“By this week, all the centers were officially closed,” UNF Media Relations Manager Amanda Ennis told The Daily Signal. “Some staff members have left the University for other job opportunities. All other employees have moved to other open positions in the university that are not related to DEI.”

UNF announced in January that it would begin phasing out the Office of Diversity and Inclusion. University President Moez Limayem said that no staff members would lose their jobs as a result, but would be assigned to work in other departments with the same or higher salary.

The new role of Sheila Spivey, who was previously assistant vice president of diversity and inclusion, could not be found online, and an emailed request to her for comment bounced back with an “out of office” notice. Brandi Winfrey, director of inclusive excellence, has not changed her job title on LinkedIn and did not respond to a request for comment.

The diversity office staff also included two administrators, and two to three employees for each center.

UNF will continue offering a handful of DEI-related courses in the fall 2024 semester, according to the course catalog, including Introduction to Educational Leadership for Social Justice; Race, Gender, and Politics; Sex, Race, and Social Class; and Difference, Discrimination, and Oppression.

The latter course addresses “issues of power, inequality, privilege, discrimination and the resulting oppression,” according to the course description.

“Course material will use a social justice perspective for the study of and practice with oppressed groups at all system levels, including those distinguished by race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, immigration status, religion and social class,” the description adds.

The webpage that once displayed UNF’s DEI resources now shows “Access Restricted” result, with this message: “You do not have permission to access this resource.”

The page previously included UNF’s “Inclusive Excellence” strategic plan, as well as information on its Intercultural Center, Interfaith Center, LGBTQ Center, and Women’s Center, according to a Wayback Machine internet search.

“Inclusive Excellence employs a broad and inclusive definition of diversity that includes genetic information, race, ethnicity, color, religion, age, sex, ability, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, marital status, national origin, veteran status and other important social dimensions that are part of the campus community,” the strategic plan said.

The LGBT Center offered resources on “preferred” personal pronouns, transgenderism, and more.

“Pronouns are a reflection of someone’s gender identity, and to ignore that is to say that their identity isn’t valid,” the resource on pronouns said. “Even when the person isn’t around, using the correct pronouns to refer to them says to those around you that you acknowledge the person’s identity, regardless of how you feel about the person, and encourages others to do the same.”

The page includes a list of common pronouns, as well as “neo” pronouns, such as “Xe/Xem/Xyr,” “Ey/Em/Eir,” “Zie/Zim/Zir,” “Ve/Ver/Vis,” and “Ne/Nem/Nir.”

The Women’s Center was “committed to advocating for gender equality and improving the status of women.”

“We recognize that gender inequalities are deeply connected to other areas of disenfranchisement and oppression in our society,” the archived webpage reads. “Therefore, our programs and services strive to value and promote respect for all differences. This means that women and men and people of all races, cultures, and sexual orientations are welcome in the Women’s Center.”

The Diversity Office webpage also included a statement in support of anti-racism.

“Examining biases and exclusionary practices, and promoting integrity, inclusivity, and ultimately excellence, enhances our personal development, relationships with others, well-being, and global citizenship,” part of the statement reads.

Some UNF students voiced their complaints about the office’s closure on Wednesday.

“I think it’s a travesty we’re shutting down such great resources,” student Emily Roles told WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, Florida.

The UNF Diversity Office closure closely follows the shutdown of DEI at the University of Florida. The home of the Gators sports teams closed an office for a chief diversity officer and eliminated other DEI positions in March, and is reviewing whether the remaining Center for Multicultural Engagement and Inclusion violates state law.

While University of Florida fired DEI personnel, Florida State University took an approach similar to UNF’s, changing the titles and classifications of employees who were in related positions.

The Board of Governors is in the process of reviewing programs in Florida universities to ascertain whether they violate state laws prohibiting DEI instruction, Communications Director Cassandra Edwards told The Daily Signal. She said that programs in state schools found to violate the law will be “eliminated.”

“As this is an ongoing, deliberate process, it will not conclude overnight,” she said. “But rest assured, thanks to Gov. DeSantis’ leadership, state or federal funds will not be used for DEI by Florida’s universities.”

Florida Bill Banning Lab-Grown Meat Awaits Gov. DeSantis’ Signature https://americanconservativemovement.com/florida-bill-banning-lab-grown-meat-awaits-gov-desantis-signature/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/florida-bill-banning-lab-grown-meat-awaits-gov-desantis-signature/#respond Thu, 14 Mar 2024 03:45:09 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=201877 (Natural News)—The Florida House on Wednesday, March 6, gave final approval to a wide-ranging bill that would ban cultured, or lab-grown, meat and local regulation of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.

The Republican-controlled House voted 86-27 to approve SB 1084, with the bill finally ready to go to Governor Ron DeSantis. SB 1084 would make several modifications related to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS).

Democrats fixated on parts of SB 1084 that would ban the sale and manufacture of cultivated meat, which DeSantis has condemned as “fake meat,” and prevent local governments from regulating EV vehicle charging stations.

Rep. Lindsay Cross (D-St. Petersburg) claimed that both bans were meant to “stop innovation, put barriers on the free market and to lock [Florida] into existing frameworks.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Christine Hunschofsky (D-Parkland) insisted that the “food fight” section of SB 1084 “sends a bad message” to researchers and investors about lab-grown meat.

Hunschofsky added that the move could discourage manufacturers from working in Florida because “they don’t know what day of the week that the Legislature will be OK with them being in the state of Florida.”

“Moon meat” is fine if developed for astronauts

House bill sponsor Danny Alvarez (R-Hillsborough County) said that there are still questions about the safety of lab-grown meat. He explained that selling cultivated meat needs to wait, adding that research over time could help confirm that “it is viable for consumption.”

He noted that the bill is being passed because they “know that Florida agriculture can hold us down and provide plenty of safe, quality beef and agricultural products.” Alvarez also said lab-grown meat is being banned in Florida to help protect consumers.

The measure, which passed the Senate early in March, would allow research into cultivated meat. Production involves a process of taking cultured cells from animals and growing them in controlled settings to produce food.

A potential research ban was removed from earlier versions of the bill due to worries that such a ban could affect the space industry, which is also considering the development of lab-grown meats for long-term space journeys.

Rep. Dean Black (R-Jacksonville) clarified that while it’s fine to develop “Moon meat” for astronauts, cattlemen like himself won’t support it. (Related: FDA approves lab-grown meat produced by Chinese firm linked to biowarfare program.)

“They can make it on the Moon and export it to Mars, and it’s fine to have Martian meat as well,” Black said, adding that he supported SB 1084 because you shouldn’t be able to buy lab-grown meat in Florida, or anywhere in the United States.

Under SB 1084, selling or manufacturing lab-grown meat will be considered a second-degree misdemeanor. Additionally, the bill would put oversight of EV charging stations under the FDACS, which regulates pumps at gas stations. Florida has at least 3,230 public charging stations in 44 of the 67 counties.

According to a staff analysis of the bill, electric cars made up at least three percent of cars sold in Florida from July 2020 to July 2021.

A 2021 state law already prohibits local governments from mandating such things as EV charging stations on gas retailers. That law was enforced after a move by Petaluma, California, to ban new gas stations with the intention of fast-tracking the shift to electric cars.
