According to the Washington Post, the United Kingdom has issued a threat alert advising to its former military pilots not to be seduced by China’s offers of lucrative contracts to train their armed forces. The threat alert cites worries over national security and combat techniques.

According to the BBC, up to 30 pilots from the Royal Air Force may have travelled to China to instruct the People’s Liberation Army while receiving salaries of up to £237,911 ($270,000).

“It is a lucrative package that is being offered to people,” said one Western official, who added that “money is a strong motivator.”

The retired British pilots are being used to help understand the way in which western planes and pilots operate, information which could be vital in the event of any conflict, such as over Taiwan.

“They are a very attractive body of people to then pass on that knowledge,” a western official said. “It’s taking western pilots of great experience to help develop Chinese military air force tactics and capabilities.”

“It certainly doesn’t match my understanding of service of our nation – even in retirement – to then go and work with a foreign power, especially one that challenges the UK interest so keenly,” British Armed Forces Minister James Heappey told Sky News in an interview Tuesday, adding “China is a competitor that is threatening the U.K. interest in many places around the world.

“There’s been a concern within the MOD for a number of years,” referring to the Ministry of Defense.

Although it is not currently against UK law to train PLA pilots, this situation has caused UK authorities to contemplate making it a felony to accept contracts to train personnel from specific foreign forces.

An official hinted that experienced pilots of the UK’s allies have also been sought, suggesting that the recruitment efforts of China may not be confined to UK veterans; instead, a South African test flying academy is acting as a middleman. An Australian Air Force veteran claimed to have been promised roughly $1 million annually, according to CNBC.

“We have approached the people that are involved and been clear with them that it’s our expectation they would not continue to be part of that organization, and we are going to put into law, that once people have been given that warning, it will become an offense to then go forward and continue with that training,” Heappey added.

He underscored that Beijing was an “important” partner for Britain but said China had made “no secret in their attempt to gain access to our secrets, and their recruitment of our pilots in order to understand the capabilities of our air force is clearly a concern to us.” WaPo

Tobias Elwood, a conservative MP, said that British citizenship should be taken away from RAF veterans who train the Chinese.

The Chinese recruitment programme is a “contemporary” security challenge, according to the British Ministry of Defense. “All serving and former personnel are already subject to the Official Secrets Act, and we are reviewing the use of confidentiality contracts and non-disclosure agreements across Defense,” the Ministry of Defense of Britain said.

According to the Post, the law covers crimes involving espionage, sabotage, and the illegal sharing of public information by specific government officials.

“We are taking decisive steps to stop Chinese recruitment schemes attempting to headhunt serving and former UK Armed Forces pilots to train People’s Liberation Army personnel,” the MOD continued.

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) ramped up an ongoing study that was began eight years ago with the launch of its “BRAIN 2.0” initiative (Brain Research via Advancing Innovative Neurotechnology) last week. The scope and complexity of BRAIN 2.0, which provides $600 million to comprehensively map our 86 billion neurons and their uncounted connections, are comparable to that of the Human Genome Project. The project is anticipated to cost $5 billion in total.

Theoretically, once this accurate brain atlas has been built in silico, digital tools may be used to directly modify neural function. John Ngai, the director of the BRAIN Initiative, demonstrates an unsettling fixation on this approach.

Ngai recently spoke with Stat News and mentioned two specific outcomes of his ongoing neuro-mapping work. Renee Wegrzyn, the new agency’s first director, informed her coworkers on Wednesday that people can now change their DNA at will. But because gene-editing technologies like CRISPR have become so accessible and affordable, she said that there is a serious risk to humankind from accidental pathogens or deliberate bioweapons.

“We’re ushering in the century of engineered biology,” Wegrzyn declared with a weird fake-smile, “whether it’s through gene-editing, or it’s through engineering of living medicines that will be in our gut — or in soil to promote fertilization and growth, especially as we face challenges like climate change.”

What more is in store for us in this “century of engineered biology”? Wegrzyn, a former programme manager for DARPA, predicts that this transformation will result in “human-machine convergence” and the development of “Human 2.0.”

“These are things that are somewhere on the horizon,” she told the Long Now Foundation in 2017, “that genome engineering and gene-editing will be a part of. So how do we make sure we can pursue this future in a safe manner?”

Wegrzyn, carrying the transhumanist banner, praised “defensive enhancement,” using mass vaccination as an example to strengthen our immune systems. Additionally, she talked about “offensive enhancement,” which includes changes to people’s “performance” and “cognitive state.”

She sneered, “It’s evolution on steroids, and now it’s in our control.” With a strange chuckle, she assured the audience that “we’re solidly on the defensive side.” If that’s the case, her DARPA projects were outliers at the agency.

We’ve entered a weird period where modifying human brains and bodies, as well as the underlying DNA, may soon be as commonplace as nose jobs and genetically modified tomatoes are right now. A recent preprint study sheds light on why adverse events were detected after a COVID-19 messenger RNA (mRNA) immunization.

The study (read below), coordinated by Thomas Jefferson University researchers, discovered that lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) used to carry mRNA in COVID-19 vaccinations might “inhibit” and “alter” immune responses in mice.

LNPs are lipid shells that surround mRNA to evade degradation and detection by our immune system.

LNPs are not mRNA; they are merely a covering for the mRNA cargo.

The mRNA COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna utilise LNPs to introduce mRNA spike protein sequences into human cells. Human cells will produce spike proteins after receiving the mRNA sequences, which will then cause an immunological response.

Initially, it was planned for the LNPs to covertly introduce mRNA sequences that would cause the cells to create spike proteins and therefore develop immunity to the COVID-19 virus.

However, numerous researches in mice have now discovered that the LNPs, despite being advertised as harmless and non-toxic, are instead very inflammatory.

These nanoparticles are extremely long-lasting and can stay in the body for 20 to 30 days. They are likely to stay in the body and continue to stimulate the immune system, which will eventually wear out and become non-responsive.

Similar conclusions were also reached by the Thomas Jefferson research. By injecting animals with the identical LNPs found in Pfizer’s vaccines—some mice even received two doses—researchers examined how LNPs influence the immune system.

Immune responses and inflammation in mice are not absolute indicators of what will occur in people. Nevertheless, mice have long been used to assess the efficacy and safety of medications intended for human use; symptoms of immunological dysfunction are a hint of potential health hazards in people.

The researchers discovered that mice given two doses had a weaker immunological response to their second injection than mice given only one dosage.

“The mRNA-LNP (nanoparticle) vaccine platform induces long-term unexpected immunological changes affecting both adaptive immune responses and heterologous protection against infections,” the authors wrote.

Pre-Exposure to mRNA Nanoparticles Reduce Innate Cell Numbers

Mice that received two doses of LNP injections had less innate immune cells, which are the primary immune cells.

By injecting mice with various LNP variants, the authors hoped to learn how the mRNA-sealing LNPs affected the mice.

The mice were divided into three groups, each of which received two injections with various substances.

Most mice received an injection of LNP as the initial injection. The second half received empty LNPs with no mRNA while the first half received LNPs having mRNA sequences.

An injection of salty water was given to the leftover mice. Since injections of salted water are not meant to cause any alterations to the body, these mice serve as the baseline to compare.

Approximately two weeks later, all 3 groups received the same LNP injection carrying influenza protein mRNA sequences (HA). The second injection stimulated their cells to produce HA proteins, resulting in an immunological response. It was hoped that the immunological response would render the mice immune to the influenza virus.

After the second injection, the researchers discovered that all mice had established immunological defenses against the influenza virus.

The researchers found that mice who received two doses of LNPs lost less weight and were more resistant to an influenza illness. Oddly enough, the same mice also responded to the flu vaccine with a less potent immunological response and less activation of immune cells.

According to the authors’ assumption, their “resistance” likely results from an alternate pathway that LNPs have activated rather than from a boosted immune system. This “resistance” may only be applicable to influenza and is not yet known if it will apply to other illnesses.

This is due to the study’s discovery that mice who appeared to be more “resistant” to the flu were in fact more prone to fungus infections.

When the mice were given two doses of the Candida albicans infection, the mice lost more weight and had less success fighting the illness, indicating a change in the innate immune response.

Additional research revealed that these mice had less neutrophils, the most prevalent type of first-responder immune cell.

Neutrophils are responsible for patrolling the body and indiscriminately attacking anything foreign they come across, thus having less of them increases the risk of infection.

The scientists hypothesized that decreased neutrophil counts may have contributed to the fungal outbreak since an unchecked fungal infection, particularly C. albicans, is frequently a symptom of compromised innate or first responder immune response.

LNPs trigger inflammation, and specific inflammatory pathways limit blood cell formation. The scientists hypothesized that the two dosages of LNPs given to these mice induced increased inflammation, resulting in a decrease in blood cell formation and low neutrophil numbers.

Though this is speculative, and it is unknown if the effects in mice would translate to humans, there have been instances of vaccinated people developing severe aplastic anemia, a condition in which the body can no longer produce enough blood cells, especially red blood cells.

There have also been instances of COVID-19 vaccine recipients acquiring rare fungal infections or aggravating pre-existing fungal disorders.

Though major fungal disease does not always indicate a weakened immune system, serious fungal infections “are most common among people with weak immune systems,” according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

Antigen Numbers Reduced in Mice with High Nanoparticle Exposure

There are two types of immune cells: first responders (innate immune cells) and second responders (adaptive immune cells).

When they come upon something strange, the first responders launch an immediate assault. However, their attacks are generic and frequently fail to completely remove illnesses.

As a result, adaptive immune cells, also known as T and B cells, act as our second line of defense.

They become active about a week into the infection and clear infections by launching powerful and targeted attacks.

T and B cells must be supplied with pathogen information in order to activate adaptive immune cells. It could be a portion of the spike protein in the case of Sars-Cov-2.

APCs (antigen-presenting cells), a kind of first-responding cell, deliver virus, bacterium, or infectious particle fragments to adaptive T or B cells. This activates T or B cells, resulting in an adaptive immunological response.

A dendritic cell (APC) activates a T cell by presenting it with an antigen, a harmful or foreign substance.

However, the researchers discovered that mice that received two doses of mRNA LNPs displayed less antigen than mice that received just one dose.

This suggests that less adaptive immune cell activation against influenza proteins was produced.

mRNA Nanoparticles Reduce T and B cell Responses

The T and B cell responses to the flu mRNA vaccination were shown to be less robust in mice that had received two injections of LNP compared to those who had only received one.

T and B cells are essential for our immune system’s capacity to eradicate infections since they are the last line of defense.

However, reduced T and B cell activation was observed in mice who received two doses of LNP.

The quantities of antibodies (B cells produce antibodies) against the influenza protein were likewise lower in the double-dosed groups.

The decreased adaptive immune response was systemic, impacting all organs and areas. According to the scientists, this reduction was considerably greater at the injection site, particularly if the mice were administered injections at the same location for both shots.

The group that received only one injection of LNP, on the other hand, exhibited stronger T and B cell responses, as well as more antibodies generated.

The authors discovered that LNP exposure reduced T progenitor cells. Because T progenitor cells mature into activated T cells, fewer progenitors imply fewer T cells and a lower response.

The scientists discovered that removing T progenitor cells before immunization and then reintroducing them after vaccination did not diminish the number of activated T cells. This shows that the LNP lowers the amount of T progenitor cells and, as a result, the T cell response.

“Pre-exposure to mRNA-LNP inhibits T cell responses,” the authors wrote.

The authors speculated that the lowered immunity ought not to be permanent.

They discovered that if an 8-week gap was introduced between the first and second dosages, B cell responses mostly rebounded.

Nonetheless, the authors did not confirm the time required for complete recovery, nor did they confirm whether the mice’s B cell response ever restored.

However, treating mice with adjuvants such aluminum salts or AddaVax reversed the suppressive effects of LNP injections on mice immune cells.

“Inhibition of the adaptive immune responses by pre-exposure to mRNA-LNPs is long-lasting but it is likely to wane with time.”

Immunity Changes from LNPs Can Be Inherited

As previously stated, mice given two doses of LNPs were more resistant to an influenza infection than mice given only one dosage of LNPs.

This was confirmed by the mice’s greater weight maintenance throughout infection, albeit it is unclear if the resistance was due to an immunological response or another mechanism initiated by the LNPs.

Surprisingly, this enhanced defensiveness may be handed down to their kids. The inheritance of influenza resistance is stronger when both parents are vaccinated, and less so when only one parent is inoculated, especially if only the male father is immunized.

The study did not address whether the kids also inherit immunological deficiency, such as a loss in immunity against C. albicans, which was observed in mice given two LNPs dosages.

Implication of the Study and Pressing Questions

The results of the mice study indicate that T and B cell functions temporarily decline in mice, which begs the issue of whether this also happens in people.

Clearing infections and preventing chronic illnesses like cancer depend on the adaptive immune response. According to the study, mice are more susceptible to infections and cancer for a few weeks following two vaccines with the mRNA LNPs.

Although there has not been a study conclusively proving a correlation, similar findings have also been made regarding human observations.

However, an increased prevalence of sickness reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) following COVID-19 vaccination implies that patients have less immunity after vaccination.

There have been numerous cases of cancers developing as a result of COVID-19 vaccines.

In the VAERS database, 284 incidences of breast cancer were recorded following COVID-19 immunization, although only 350 cases had been reported in the VAERS database’s whole history.

There were 269 cases of leukemia reported following COVID-19 vaccination, compared to 432 cases throughout VAERS’s whole history.

Furthermore, there have been instances of new onset and recurring shingles following COVID-19 vaccinations. VAERS data shows that 7,559 incidences of shingles have been reported following COVID-19 vaccination.

Throughout the lifetime of VAERS, 28,180 cases of shingles have been documented following any immunization, implying that COVID-19 vaccination accounted for around a quarter of all shingles cases.

According to the CDC, a new diagnosis or recurrence of shingles occurs largely in patients with compromised immune systems and is a symptom of decreased immunity.

Though the mice study shows significant human health consequences, it is unknown whether all of the symptoms and effects reported in mice would occur in humans.

Nonetheless, mounting evidence of severe health effects in humans following COVID-19 vaccination warrants additional investigation. It is also necessary to investigate the overlaps between the health consequences for mice and people.

“Considering the broad exposure of a large proportion of human populations to vaccines based on this novel (mRNA) technology, more studies are warranted to fully understand its overall immunological and physiological effects. Determining this platform’s short and long-term impact on human health would help optimize it to decrease its potentially harmful effects,” the authors concluded.

To figure out why people refuse to take the vaccine the Social Science Research Council (SSRC) and Rockefeller Foundation have established a group of behavioural scientists known as the Mercury Project.

The Rockefeller Foundation has disclosed that it (along with other non-profits) has been pouring millions of dollars into a behavioural science project meant to understand why large groups of people around the world refuse to take the jab. This is yet another indication that the covid vaccination agenda of globalist institutions did not do quite as well as they had originally hoped.

A group of behavioural scientists known as the “Mercury Project” was established by the Social Science Research Council (SSRC), a non-profit institution that gets significant financing from governments and globalist organisations. The project’s stated goals are not very clear, and its mission statements and wording are vague. However, it appears that the primary objectives are to employ parts of mass psychology and behavioural psychology to explain the global resistance to the recent covid compliance efforts.

Researchers from Mercury will research vaccine refusal and the medical “disinformation” that causes it in a number of different countries and areas. In order to persuade people from various political and racial backgrounds to get the shot, they are working to modify vaccination narratives to match those groups’ political and racial perspectives.

The SSRC and the Rockefeller Foundation observe:

“Following the characterization of inaccurate health information by the U.S. Surgeon General as an “urgent threat,” and by the World Health Organization as an “infodemic,” the SSRC issued a call for proposals to counter the growing global threats posed by public health mis- and disinformation and low Covid-19 vaccination rates, and received nearly 200 submissions from around the world.

…With Covid-19 prevalent and rapidly evolving everywhere, there is a pressing need to identify interventions with the potential to increase vaccination take-up.”

Funding for the SSRC and the Mercury Project comes from both foundations and government entities. A further $20 million was given to the Mercury Project in June 2022 by the National Science Foundation, which describes itself as a “independent” branch of the US government. In other words, creating convincing anti-covid propaganda is turning into a money-making scheme for the few behavioural experts and psychologists that join in.

The SSRC website outlines the goal of the NSF relationship with the Mercury Project:

“This innovative partnership will support research teams seeking to evaluate online or offline interventions to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand and other positive health behaviors, including by targeting the producers and/or consumers of inaccurate health information and/or by increasing confidence in reliable health information.”

The Mercury Project states that the following are their main areas of focus:

“Funded projects will provide evidence about what works–and doesn’t–in specific places and for specific groups to increase Covid-19 vaccination take-up, including what is feasible on the ground and has the potential to be cost-effective at scale. Each of the 12 teams will have access to findings from the other teams while exploring interventions including, but not limited to:

• Conducting literacy training for secondary school students in partnership with local authorities to help students identify Covid-19 vaccine misinformation.
• Equipping trusted messengers with communication strategies to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand.
• Using social networks to share tailored, community-developed messaging to increase Covid-19 vaccination demand.”

They therefore prioritise spreading propaganda at any costs. The Mercury Project was founded on the premise that people cannot be trusted to generate their own opinions about the information they are exposed to and must instead be coerced into accepting the dominant narrative. Additionally, it assumes that information from the mainstream or establishment is always reliable and objective.

One of the most underrated occurrences of the 20th century was the widespread refusal to comply with covid vaccination laws in spite of intense government pressure. It is most likely the cause of why, in a matter of weeks, the corporate media and the political establishment reduced their constant campaign of fear against the populace to almost nothing. It appeared as though the general public had been subjected to two years of waterboarding before the torture abruptly and mysteriously ended.

And the danger is still present. The Mercury Project has not provided an explanation for why it feels the need to create vaccine propaganda for a virus with a meagre 0.23% median Infection Fatality Rate. The population has already attained herd immunity if vaccination data from organisations like the CDC is accurate (maybe their data is not accurate?). Why are globalist organisations so fixated on achieving 100% COVID vaccination? Never is this explained.

They will claim that the goal is to save lives, but if, on average, just 0.23 percent of the population is at risk regardless of whether or not they are vaccinated, then public health is not a very credible justification. It appears that the Mercury Project’s goal is more about persuading people to get vaccines despite the evidence than it is about advancing science.

Snipers from Russia and other anti-American nations are participating in war games being conducted this week in Venezuela. The games, which have been compared to the Olympics for military, were planned to demonstrate that Moscow still has allies, some of whom are in Latin America, reports MSN.

Venezuela has taken part in the annual international war games since they began in 2015, when Russia annexed Crimea, but this year’s games are the first ones to be held in Latin America, and participants from Cuba, Bolivia, and Nicaragua are participating as well.

The tournaments also feature forces from Burma, Belarus, Abkhazia, Uzbekistan, China, India, Pakistan, and Indonesia, among others. Inaugurating the games on Monday, Venezuela’s defense minister Vladimir Padrino López said that these countries “daily condemn imperialist aggression against the peoples.”

The games are taking place while Russia is under fire for its military intrusion into Ukraine, an action that led to heavy economic penalties against Moscow from Europe and the United States as well as a clamor of denouncements from around the world.

The aim of this year’s games is to show that Russia still has allies around the world, but many think that the premise that they are taking place in Venezuela may have a longer-lasting impact.

“In a sense, this seeks to normalize (and pave the way for) a larger military presence in Latin America,” said Joseph Humire, executive director of the Washington-based Center for a Secure Free Society. These games could pave the way for “larger military operations and games in the future” including not only Russia, but also China and Iran.

The initial flights of Iranian aircraft to Venezuela a few years ago provided a glimpse of this for the area. The planes, whose contents are still unknown, first alarmed Venezuelans and Nicolás Maduro regime observers tremendously but then became so common that no one noticed them, according to Humire.

“It is already normal for Venezuelans and today there are flights from Iran that are constantly arriving, that are participating in activities that are worrisome and alarming but that people are not paying attention anymore,” Humire said.

The competitions, where trained sniper teams from participating nations battle for accolades, are hosted at the Terepaima Military Fort, which is situated in the central-western state of Lara.

A recent case report, which was released on August 5, 2022 in the Cureus Journal of Medical Science, has informed the medical community of the risk of artery blockage from COVID vaccination.

The case report details how their 67-year-old patient began experiencing shortness of breath two days after receiving the second dosage of the COVID-19 vaccination from Pfizer. Then, even after taking a 30-minute break, he was having trouble breathing while working in the yard. He therefore visited the emergency room.

The emergency room doctors discovered that this patient’s heart was beating rapidly and that one of his legs had begun to bulge. His blood pressure was significantly elevated. A blood test to check his troponin levels found that he had an unusually high troponin level. Troponin is a protein that is found in the cardiac muscles. Troponin is released into the bloodstream when the heart muscles are injured as a result of a heart attack or other stress on the heart.

The patient was admitted to the hospital after a cardiologist was summoned. Given the severity of his lab tests, doctors feared he would have suffered a “dismal outcome if urgent treatment had not been initiated.”

In other words, he probably would have passed away if he had not gone to the ER right away for emergency care.

Pulmonary Embolism Post Vaccination

A CT scan revealed that the individual had a pulmonary embolism, according to the physicians. A pulmonary embolism is a large blood clot that forms in a main artery running from the heart to the lungs, blocking off blood flow. The embolism had a severe impact on his kidneys as well.

Shortness of breath, an unnaturally fast heart rate (tachycardia), leg swelling (as the patient in this case study experienced), and abrupt death are all signs of a pulmonary embolism.

Another clot, a deep vein thrombosis, was discovered in this patient’s calf. This clot was the source of his leg swelling.

Catheter Surgery

The physicians responded immediately, administering blood thinners and preparing him for catheter surgery. To remove the clot, they inserted a catheter through his neck and into his heart.

The patient appeared to have totally recovered after a few days in the hospital after his surgery.

The surgical staff hypothesized vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia because this 67-year-old guy had no risk factors or prior history of thrombosis and had recently received a Pfizer vaccine.

Minnesota Dentist Suffers Vaccine-Induced Pulmonary Embolism

Doug Trebtoske believed it was his duty as a healthcare professional to lead by example by receiving all the advised COVID-19 vaccinations.

Despite not requiring his staff members to get immunized, Rochester, Minnesota dentist Trebtoske said that he “blindly accepted the CDC position on vaccination.”

He was motivated to get vaccinated because a relative by marriage, also 68 years old and in good health, succumbed to COVID-19 a month before the immunizations became accessible.

Trebtoske and his doctor both feel that the pulmonary embolism was vaccine-induced thrombocytopenia from the third dosage of the Pfizer vaccine.

Vaccine-induced Immune Thrombotic Thrombocytopenia

According to the American College of Cardiology, people with vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia, also known as VITT, typically have low platelet counts in their blood as well as blood clots in an artery or vein that can cause swelling in one leg, chest pain, or total numbness.

Both thrombosis and thrombocytopenia pose a risk to life.

Since the start of the COVID-19 vaccination, Dr. Kenji Yamamoto, a cardiovascular surgeon at Okamura Memorial Hospital in Shizuoka, Japan, has seen a sharp increase in vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia. Yamamoto argues that the vaccination booster campaign should be discontinued due to the risks of VITT.

“The media have so far concealed the adverse events of vaccine administration, such as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), owing to biased propaganda,” Yamamoto wrote in a letter (read below) published in the journal Virology on June 5, 2022.

Post Vaccination Blood Disorders in Previously Healthy Individuals

According to a Blood article, shortly after the COVID-19 vaccinations were introduced in Europe, hematologists “began observing previously healthy young individuals present with severe, extensive thrombosis.” “Unlike most cases of thrombosis, there was associated thrombocytopenia, and no predisposing thrombotic risk factors.”

The AstraZeneca vaccine, that was extensively accessible in Europe but not in the United States, was assumed to be primarily responsible for these cases.

Over 70% of the youngsters who contracted VITT, whose symptoms typically appeared five to thirty days after receiving the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine, perished.

Some people experience a “prothrombotic state” after vaccination, which disrupts the blood’s levels of clotting cells and increases the risk of blood clots forming in the blood vessels.

There were additional early warning papers in the scientific literature, as the authors of the current case study note. A group of six Norwegian physicians and an Austrian medical group both wrote articles in the New England Journal of Medicine about thrombosis post COVID-19 vaccination.

A study published in the journal Vaccines in November 2021 revealed that in just four months in 2021, there were 729,496 adverse events, of which 3,420 were thrombotic; 63 of those affected died; six of those affected had received a vaccine from Moderna, 25 from Pfizer, and 32 from Oxford-AstraZeneca.

Denying the Connection

Doug Trebtoske, a dentist from Minnesota, has been assured by a number of Mayo Clinic experts that there is no link between his lung issues and the COVID-19 immunizations. He claimed that instead, they gave him the diagnosis of having a “pulmonary embolism of undetermined origin.”

“I probably would have been better off not to have gotten the vaccinations, personally,” he said. “I feel my body over-reacts to the vaccine, and that’s why I got the blood clots. My family physician feels the same way.”

To compete with the US currency, BRICS members demand cross-border payments in BRICS currencies.

On June 23, a summit was conducted by the BRICS, an acronym for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The event, which was presided over by Chinese President Xi Jinping, was one in a long line of BRICS cooperation activities that started on June 6 with the second meeting of central bank governors and finance ministers and ended on June 28 with the second meeting of the committee of senior energy officials.

“We should also expand BRICS cooperation on cross-border payment and credit rating to facilitate trade, investment, and financing among our countries,” said Xi in his opening remarks.

He continued by reiterating the commitment of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) to collaborating with the BRICS countries in order to realize the CCP’s vision of the Global Development Initiative (GDI).

In April 2022, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi introduced the GDI to the UN as a CCP-led global development plan. The U.N. welcomed it, and more than 100 states have expressed their support. On the U.N. platform, the Group of Friends of the GNI was founded. More than 50 nations have joined thus far. According to the CCP, using a non-dollar payment system that is headed by China will facilitate the progress it is urging.

The XIV BRICS Summit Beijing Declaration, which was released on June 23, outlines the objectives for the following year and calls for continued cooperation on “the BRICS Payments Task Force (BPTF) as a platform for exchanging experience and knowledge, and welcomes the central banks’ further cooperation on the payments track.”

Vladimir Putin of Russia and Chinese President Xi Jinping both urged for other forms of payment to diminish the dominance of the US dollar in world trade and US control over the SWIFT system.

Bankers and economists in BRICS nations, according to the Chinese state-run newspaper Global Times, have suggested that the group “expand national currency settlements and lending to counter the US’ weaponization of the dollar.”

Putin advocated for creating a global reserve currency based on a basket of currencies in his speech to the BRICS meeting, according to TASS, a Russian news agency, on June 22.

“The BRICS and other interested nations need to talk about setting up their own independent global financial system – whether it would be based on the Chinese currency or they will agree on something different,” said Sergey Storchak, chief banker of the Russian bank VEB.RF, to Global Times on June 21. One of the organizations that has been sanctioned and cut off from the SWIFT international payment network in the United States is VERB.RF.

Regarding currency, Xi, Putin, and the bankers from VEB.RF have three main grievances. They object to the U.S. dollar’s hegemonic position as a reserve currency. They oppose the use of the dollar as the standard for international payments. And they face danger from having to use the US SWIFT system, which is dependent on US banks, to make international payments.

The U.S. dollar is used by nations for international transactions because it is a stable currency that is easily convertible all over the globe and because resources like oil are priced in dollars. The BRICS currencies are not thought to be fully convertible. Even though the Chinese yuan has restricted convertibility, it is an international currency because it is a reserve drawing right (SDR) currency of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

In addition to the dollar’s strength and convertibility, central banks around the world keep U.S. dollars as a significant portion of their foreign exchange reserves owing to the dollar’s value in resolving international trade. Other nations do not want to maintain reserves in the South African rand, Brazilian real, Indian rupee, or Russian ruble because they are all comparatively weaker currencies.

The BRICS currencies would only be relevant in commerce with the country of origin if international settlement arrangements could be negotiated among the BRICS nations. To put it another way, even while South Africa and India might agree to settle their trade in rupees, it is improbable that other countries would accept rupees in trade with South Africa. In addition, many of the BRICS nations have sizable foreign debt that must be repaid in dollars rather than rupees.

As a result, South Africa would be holding a large amount of rupees that could only be used for commerce with India. To complicate matters, South Africa would expose itself to currency valuation risk by retaining the rupees in reserve.

Due to its speed, accuracy, and safety, the U.S. SWIFT system is used by international traders to execute cross-border payments. The fact that it connects with major banks in more than 100 countries is what makes it convenient. Although China and Russia have made an effort to develop SWIFT substitutes, neither system is compatible with banks in Western countries.

Therefore, the BRICS countries will rely on the SWIFT unless the rest of the world agrees to utilize the Chinese or Russian system. The issue of what currency to use for international trade would still exist even if a Chinese or Russian payment system were to be agreed upon.

Perhaps the most sensible currency for the BRICS countries to use for domestic commerce is the Chinese yuan. The Chinese Cross-Border Interbank Payment System (CIPS) is now configured to handle yuan commerce. However, the other BRICS countries would be handing over U.S. control of their cross-border trade to CCP control by consenting to do business in yuan and through the CIPS, something they might not be comfortable with.

Putin and Russian bankers have suggested using a basket of currencies as an alternative. The SDR of the IMF, which consists of a basket of global currencies comprising the US dollar, euro, yuan, Japanese yen, and British pound, is the inspiration for this concept. SDRs are transferable and can be kept in reserve. The BRICS would presumably create a basket of its five currencies, although this would hardly help the issues associated with the BRICS countries trading in their local currencies. Other nations would not wish to keep a BRICS currency reserve basket. And finally, transactions involving a basket of BRICS currencies would not be supported by the US SWIFT system.

Mohammad Barkindo, the secretary-general of OPEC, passed away suddenly on Tuesday night, only hours after visiting Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari and speaking at an energy summit in Abuja, Nigeria, according to the Wall Street Journal.

After serving as the senior official of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries for six years, Barkindo, 63, was scheduled to step down at the end of July. He gained notoriety for drafting a 2016 accord that welcomed major producers like Russia into the so-called OPEC+ club, which included them as heavyweight producers.

“We lost our esteemed Dr. Muhammad Sanusi Barkindo,” Nigerian National Petroleum Corp (NNPC) CEO Mele Kyari tweeted. The death is a “great loss to his immediate family, the NNPC, our country Nigeria, the OPEC, and the global energy community,” Kyari added.

The native of Nigeria claimed during his speech in Abuja that the oil and gas sector is currently “under siege” and suffering from significant underinvestment.

“In a very short timespan, the industry has been hit by two major cycles — the severe market downturn in 2015 and 2016, and the even more far-reaching impact of the Covid-19 pandemic,” Barkindo said hours before his death.

Barkindo was scheduled to join the Atlantic Council, a US-based think tank, as a distinguished fellow in the Global Energy Center after leaving OPEC. On July 31, his tenure as OPEC secretariat came to an end, and Haitham Al-Ghais of Kuwait will take over.

Alexander Darushin’s involvement with the War Zone started with a Volga sedan. The demonstration video that went viral earlier this month included a model of a GAZ-24-10 Volga from the Soviet era with a remote-controlled KPVT 14.5 mm heavy machine gun mounted to its back, so this was not just any Volga sedan.

The weird technology, which you can read more about in our original piece here, was developed especially for Ukrainian military as they protect their nation against Russian attackers and resembles something out of the Mad Max universe.

Both the Volga and the KPVT machine gun were developed in the Soviet Union, which provides Ukrainians with a sense of poetic justice because units are now employing them to fend off Russian attacks. The vehicle-mounted KPVT machine gun is a variation of the original KPV machine gun, which was first developed in the 1940s.

Although several of these weapons’ designs naturally lend themselves to mounting machine guns on the backs of vehicles, doing so with a Volga is unquestionably unusual.

To support the KPVT’s armament, the Volga, which debuted in 1985, also underwent a significant overhaul. As a result, the sedan’s chassis received a new set of off-road tires, a suspension that was dramatically raised, and a bull bar that was mounted up front. Unquestionably inventive, and The War Zone leaped at the chance to show it out.

The War Zone was approached by Darushin through email a day after the piece went online, and he revealed that the gun-toting vintage car was the creation of a company called SteelTec Group. Darushin then revealed that he and his coworkers are metalworkers, mechanics, engineers, and welders who have now joined forces to construct Ukraine’s wartime body shop under the direction of Dmitriy Albul, who established SteelTec Group as part of his American company Advanced Metal Structures (AMS).

According to the company’s website mission statement, AMS appears to be primarily focused on creating more aesthetically pleasing metal products for civilian environments, such as fences and gates, and leaves SteelTec Group to handle the majority of the improvisatory strategic development for Ukrainian forces.

However, it does not seem like SteelTec has an official website. As an alternative, Darushin sent us a link to an Instagram account, with the bio “Ukrainian engineering and construction company that provides design and production of metal structures for every taste!” as the first line.

One of SteelTec Group’s most recent projects, a Fiat Brava, can be seen in one of the photos posted to the account, which also includes a lot of development shots of the Volga’s transformation into a reinforced battle buggy.

This is the third vehicle provided by supporters and converted for use by the Ukrainian Army, according to the caption, and if it resembles the Volga in any way, it will undoubtedly pack a punch. While crowdsourced and technical materials have undoubtedly been widely used during the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, SteelTec Group is undoubtedly establishing a name for itself by fusing the two.

Darushin offered to address some of our questions regarding SteelTec Group and what he and his colleagues are working on to support Ukrainian ground forces after exchanging a few initial emails. The queries The War Zone posed and Darushin’s emails responses are included below.

Emma: Could you explain who you are and your role in the conflict with Russia?

Alexander: Before the invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, we were engaged in engineering, fabrication of building structures for civil and industrial use, sports equipment, decor, etc.

But on February 24, 2022, everything changed, we decided to keep the workshop working and switched to fabrication of products needed for military units, territorial defense, police, and volunteer organizations. These were anti-tank hedgehogs, spikes and thorns against tires, helped to produce a batch of plates for bulletproof vests, as well as various gratings, fortifications, and so on.

Emma: What’s your official title? Who do you work for, and what do yout think your future will hold?

Alexander: Dmitriy Albul is the founder and CEO of those companies, I oversee operations. In process were involved our shop crews – the head of production, welders, mechanics, a painter, and a machining treatment specialist, as well as a team of mechanical engineers.

Emma: Do you have any way to verify your identity?

Emma: Why did the team decide to use the Volga? Is it out of necessity or preference?

Alexander: The situation at the front is rapidly changing, our assistance must meet current needs, so, quite spontaneously, this project began. In collaboration with the local administration, the military, and volunteers, we have found some parts for future projects.

From the available, our mechanics chose the Volga. Literally the next day they fired it up and we decided to use this base for a pilot project. This decision was dictated by the quick availability of spare parts, compatibility between models of this era, and, most importantly, speed of implementation.

Emma: What other vehicles have you or your colleagues turned or planned to turn into technicals?

Alexander: Ukrainian defenders need transport, it must be reliable, passable, and easy to maintain. We can work with any base; we have several cars in the works that were given to us by volunteers.

Emma: Do you make these technicals for a specific unit of Ukrainian forces? In other words, where do they go once you and your team are done with them?

Alexander: This Volga is intended for a certain military unit. Also, other military and volunteers have already shown interest.

Emma: My colleagues and I are really curious about the remote-controlled aspect of the Volga technical’s gun, could you explain how you pulled that off and what the technology is behind it?

Alexander: Currently this car is passing firing tests and we will share more details once everything is set up. But this can be done with a 12v hydraulic power pack, 3 valves, hydraulic cylinder, hydraulic motor (or large gear pump), preferably gear and chain drive. Easy to do but too much experimenting.
