The New Tolerance Campaign, a nonprofit watchdog aimed at confronting “intolerance double standards” practiced by “establishment institutions, civil rights groups, universities, and socially conscious brands,” compiled a list of extreme rhetoric against Trump that may have contributed to the second assassination attempt.
“New Tolerance Campaign research has shown two kinds of consistent and consistently charged rhetoric surrounding President Trump: insistence that his reelection would lead to the collapse of the country, and calls for the former president’s death,” Gregory T. Angelo, New Tolerance Campaign’s president, told The Daily Signal in a written statement Monday. (New Tolerance Campaign has taken to exposing extremism on the Left, to balance the impact of left-leaning groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center.)
“These proclamations aren’t sarcastic; they’re literal, and they’re being spoken by high-profile politicians and members of the mainstream media with massive audiences,” Angelo added. “It’s shocking that there have been two attempts on President Trump’s life, but not surprising given the existential hyperbole about him pounding Americans’ ears day in and day out.”
Other Violent Threats to Trump
Both Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who authorities say shot Trump in the right ear July 13 in Butler, Pennsylvania, and Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, the man suspected of planning to assassinate the former president Sunday at Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida, got surprisingly close to the former president.
However, New Tolerance Campaign identified five others who faced charges for threatening to harm or kill Trump.
In January 2021, a judge sentenced 53-year-old Connecticut resident Gary Joseph Gravelle to nine years in prison after his conviction for sending a letter threatening to kill Trump in September 2018.
In January 2022, police arrested and charged New York City resident Thomas Welnicki, 72, with calling the Secret Service and threatening to kill Trump. He proclaimed that he intended to “stand up to fascism” by assassinating the former president.
In August, police arrested Arizona resident Ronald Lee Syvrud, 66, and charged him with threatening Trump’s life during the former president’s campaign trip to the Copper State.
In July, police arrested and charged Florida resident Michael M. Wiseman, 68, with making written threats to kill Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, after the assassination attempt in Butler.
Last month, police arrested and charged Illinois resident Justin Lee White, 36 with repeatedly threatening Trump, police, and Republicans with violence if the former president didn’t “play fair” during the election campaign.
Where would Welnicki get the idea that standing up to “fascism” involves targeting Trump? The full list of left-leaning pundits, celebrities, and politicians who compared Trump to Hitler would be too long to compile. But New Tolerance Campaign highlighted many examples, and The Daily Signal has narrowed them down to the list below. (The worst is at the bottom.)
None of the people in the list below responded to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment by publication time.
1. Shalom Auslander
Most Americans may not have heard of novelist Shalom Auslander, 54, but in 2016 he penned an op-ed in The Washington Post claiming that comparing Trump to Hitler “belittles Hitler.”
Auslander first claimed that Hitler had evil plans, while Trump is “just a con man,” but then the novelist suggested that Americans today are “like Hitler’s willing executioners.”
“Will we look the other way, say we didn’t know, stand silently by while millions of our neighbors are rounded up, while women who get abortions are ‘punished,’ while immigrants are given ‘ideology tests’ and our leader heaps praise on oppressive tyrants?” he wrote.
The writer didn’t suggest that Trump would round up Jews and send them to concentration camps, but he did suggest Trump would “round up” Americans’ “neighbors” in a similarly ominous way.
2. Linda Ronstadt
Rock and country singer Linda Ronstadt, then 73, explicitly compared Trump to Hitler in July 2019.
Ronstadt, who is of Mexican descent, recalled that when Trump first announced his candidacy for president, she predicted, “It’s going to be like Hitler, and the Mexicans are the new Jews.”
“And sure enough, that’s what he delivered,” she said. “It’s exactly the same.”
3. Joe Scarborough
Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe,” repeated the line that Trump posed an existential threat to America’s representative form of government.
Scarborough said last November that Trump “is running to end American democracy as we know it.”
“He will imprison, he will execute whoever he is allowed to imprison, execute, drive from the country,” the MSNBC host said of Trump, whom he called an “authoritarian.”

4. Robert Kagan
Also last November, political scientist Robert Kagan argued in The Washington Post that if Trump wins the 2024 presidential election the odds are “pretty good” that his presidency will “turn into a dictatorship.”
Kagan warned that the “Trump administration will have many avenues to persecute its enemies, real and perceived.” He suggested that, if elected again, Trump would prevent free and fair elections in 2026.
5. Rachel Maddow
MSNBC host Rachel Maddow compared Trump to both Hitler and Italian dictator Benito Mussolini.
Last December, Maddow said Trump “keeps saying the kinds of things, the exact kind of things, that Hitler and Mussolini said.”
“There’s a reason Hitler and Mussolini said this stuff, too. It worked then, it works now,” she added. “It has worked abroad all over the world and yes, it has worked here, too. More than we like to remember.”
6. Will Stancil
Will Stancil, then a candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives for District 61A, posted a suspicious question on the social media site X.
“So is there any reason [Joe] Biden couldn’t just drone strike Trump and end this,” Stancil, who currently has more than 89,000 followers, wrote in January. He then deleted the post.

This post arguably fits with an extremely negative view of those whom Stancil considers Trump’s supporters.
Stancil’s campaign platform stated that the candidate is “committed to listening to voices across the political spectrum—with a key exception.”
“For over a century, far-right extremists have not been motivated by sincere ideological belief but an inner desire to commit violence, dominate the weak, bully the unpopular, and mock the unusual,” his platform read. “Their policy commitments are typically insincere or even nonexistent; their motive force is the pleasure they take in causing pain.”
7. Keith Olbermann
In March, Trump said that the “hostile press” treats him worse than Abraham Lincoln. The Biden-Harris reelection campaign posted Trump’s clip, noting: “Trump says he has been treated worse than Abraham Lincoln, who was assassinated.”
Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann reposted the Biden-Harris campaign video, saying, “There’s always the hope.”
Olbermann deleted the tweet and clarified that he hoped Trump gets treated badly, although his original post could be interpreted to mean that he hoped Trump got assassinated.
“I’m hoping Trump’s right, that he IS treated worse than Lincoln,” Olbermann said. “As I’ve said for 9 years: THAT HE’S CONVICTED, THEN DIES IN PRISON.”
8. Robert De Niro
In May, actor Robert De Niro echoed Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address by warning that “under Trump,” America’s current “kind of government will perish from the Earth.”
“If Trump returns to the White House, you can kiss these freedoms goodbye that we all take for granted,” the actor declared in a speech outside the building where Trump’s controversial trial for falsifying business records was taking place.
“And elections, forget about it. That’s over,” De Niro told reporters. “That’s done. If he gets in, I can tell. you right now, he will never leave. He will never leave. You know that.”

The month after the first Trump assassination attempt, on July 13, saw more extreme rhetoric.
9. Jacqueline Marsaw
A former congressional aide for Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., posted on Facebook that a potential Trump assassin should try not to miss “next time.”
“I don’t condone violence but please get you some shooting lessons so you don’t miss next time ooops that wasn’t me talking,” Jacqueline Marsaw wrote in the post.
Thompson said he fired Marsaw. His office didn’t respond to The Daily Signal’s request to connect with Marsaw for comment after the second assassination attempt.

10. Randi Weingarten
At the opening of the American Federation of Teachers convention in mid-July, AFT President Randi Weingarten condemned Trump as an “existential threat to democracy.”
Weingarten, head of the nation’s second-largest teachers union, spoke more than a week after the assassination attempt on the former president in Pennsylvania.

11. Billie Joe Armstrong
Billie Joe Armstrong, the 52-year-old lead singer of the rock band Green Day, lifted a Trump mask that many critics described as a “decapitated head” during a concert in Washington, D.C.
The mask had the word “idiot” scrawled on it.

12. Steven ‘Destiny’ Bonnell
Steven Kenneth Bonnell II, a 35-year-old influencer who goes by the name “Destiny” and gained a large audience by livestreaming video games on YouTube, said he did not have “much sympathy” for Trump supporters after the first assassination attempt.
“I don’t think I have much sympathy about the attempt enough to chastise people celebrating it,” he said.
Bonnell stood by this statement after English journalist Piers Morgan pressed him on it.
In a livestream video, Bonnell also stated: “I’m ready for the f**king great cleansing” when “we genocide conservatives in this country.”

But those who haven’t established themselves cannot be as open as Woods, Jon Voight, or the handful of well-known actors who made their mark before being a conservative meant being blacklisted.
He discussed how his role as Executive Producer for Oppenheimer was downplayed because they didn’t want Academy Awards voters, the vast majority of whom are radical leftists, to ding the movie because of his involvement.
“When Oppenheimer came out, there was a discussion about my Twitter, and it was gently suggested that I basically remain invisible, which was painful,” he said. “On the other hand, I’m a pragmatic person and I thought, a lot of people put their effort into this, so I’m just going to be an invisible pariah … I stepped back and basically took one for the team.”
But there’s good news that came from being involved in the award-winning movie. He has at least two projects coming as part of his “second act,” including an upcoming project with Oliver Stone.
As has always been the case, Woods didn’t hold back. He has always spoke his mind and is not averse to being controversial even when being playful.

(DCNF)—More than three-fourths of all-time political donations from leadership at several Fortune 250 companies in the entertainment business have been to Democrats, according to new data compiled by a transparency watchdog.
The current executives at companies involved in the entertainment business, such as Amazon, Comcast, Netflix, Apple, Disney, Paramount and Warner Bros., have collectively given $13.5 million to Democrats and just $4.2 million to Republicans, meaning 76% of donations went to Democrats, according to the 1792 Exchange, a transparency watchdog that tracks environmental, social and governance (ESG) policies in corporations. The donations coincide with major corporations adopting left-wing policies, including Disney, which has recognized that the company’s social activism has cost value for shareholders
Top leadership at Disney has collectively given $2.8 million to Democrats compared to just $908,840 to Republicans, according to the 1792 Exchange. Disney has been largely criticized for its choice to incorporate left-wing messaging into its products, which has led activist investor Nelson Peltz with investment firm Trian Partners to launch a campaign to have him and another member of the firm join the company’s board.

Conservatives have attempted to boycott various businesses for their support of Democrats and left-wing messaging, most notably Bud Light, which lost its spot as the top-selling beer in the U.S. in June to Modelo Especial after a promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
Many of the companies that have been boycotted in the past, such as Target, have largely recovered from their initial losses as consumer concern over the policies died out, even though they did not always entirely retreat from their previous stances.

Dr. Michael Baden, a forensic pathologist and Fox News contributor, highlighted ketamine’s history and its shift from being primarily used for animal surgery to becoming a drug with hallucinogenic properties in human circles during the 60s and 70s.
Initially, the Department of Medical Examiner had cited “deferred” cause of death due to “other significant conditions,” which was later updated with the detailed autopsy report. No foul play was suspected, and illegal drugs were reportedly absent from the scene. Perry’s interment took place on November 3 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

I see constant stories on how Disney is producing one flop after another at the box office. In their effort to be as woke as possible, the leaders at Disney purposefully violate the maxim that “the customer is always right.” They also seem to have forgotten the adage “Let kids be kids.”

There was a time, during the Golden Age of Hollywood, when the movie moguls were not at war against America, against Christianity, against biblical morality.
Dr. Ted Baehr is an author and the publisher of Movieguide, which provides a biblical perspective on the movies. I reached out to him for a statement responding to the question: “What, if anything, did the church have to do with the Golden Age of Hollywood?”
His email to me was so lengthy I posted his whole answer here.
Baehr said, “Part of the reason for the breakdown of morality in movies and television today, and in the culture at large, is that people of faith retreated from being salt and light in the culture.”
He continued, focusing on movies and media programming, “From 1933 to 1966, people of faith were one of the predominant forces in Hollywood. During that period, the Roman Catholic Legion of Decency and the Protestant Film Commission (which started several years after the Legion of Decency) read every script to ensure that movies represented the largest possible audience by adhering to high standards of decency. As a result, ‘Mr. Smith [went] to Washington,’ ‘It [was] a Wonderful Life’ and ‘The Bells of St. Mary’s’ rang out across the land!”
Consider that the movies of the year in 1966 and 1967 respectively had Christian themes: “The Sound of Music” and “A Man for All Seasons.” But then the church left Hollywood, and by 1970, the movie of the year was X-rated, “Midnight Cowboy.”
I’m a big fan of old movies, especially comedies from the ’20s, ’30s and ’40s. I have seen scores of these films. I enjoy the films of Laurel and Hardy (1927-1940), W.C. Fields (1932-1941), the Marx Brothers (1929-1940), Charlie Chaplin (1917-1940), Buster Keaton (1920-1929) and others.
What a contrast to many, if not most, of today’s comedians. So many of them are so dirty; they get nervous laughs by shocking their audience, not by providing something actually funny.
But when a comedian is forced to resort to his wit, he is much funnier by being clean. I’m so glad W.C. Fields and Groucho Marx were born when they were. If they belonged to a later generation, they could have easily gone the lazy route for cheap laughs. But I doubt people would be watching their movies decades after they performed (as I do).
In recent times, many busy Christians have been working to provide positive Christian films, people like the Kendrick Brothers, Erwin Brothers, Kevin and Sam Sorbo, Dean Cain and the team at Pure Flix. What a positive trend this is turning out to be.
The smash hit last summer, “Sound of Freedom,” starring Jim Caviezel, was a faith-based movie. Mel Gibson helped begin this trend two decades ago with “The Passion of the Christ” by doing an end-run around the biased anti-Christian media.
Some people might think Hollywood has no place for the church. But who created the city of Hollywood and why?
In his book, “Inventing the Dream,” author Kevin Starr writes: “Hollywood, as Horace and Daeida Wilcot envisioned their city-to-be, would be a model Southern Californian community: Christian, righteous, and very dry – no saloons, no liquor stores, with free land offered to Protestant churches locating within the city limits” (p. 284). The city incorporated in 1903, 11 years after the death of Mr. Wilcot.
For too long, many well-meaning Christians have ignored the popular culture, despite its impact for bad or good. As Dr. Baehr warns us: “Whoever controls the media controls the culture.”

]]>This is a trap. I suspected it was a trap when I decided to watch it. And not to sound too prescient but I was far more correct than I would have thought possible. The mild race-baiting messages were inserted specifically to get right-leaning media to generate buzz and it’s working.
But this trap wasn’t for the sake of ratings. This was all about delivering very destructive messages that have nothing to do with Cultural Marxism or the race wars. They lured in as many people as possible to watch it with the desire to be outraged, then they dropped their real messages to plant seeds that can grow in Americans’ minds, both consciously and subconsciously.
The Obamas were selected to add far more juice to the outrage machine. And once again, that worked just as well as the mild race-baiting. People are watching it and hating it as the current 39% audience score indicates. But by watching it and hating it, the messages were still delivered. That was the point.
Before getting into the three key points they wanted to plant in our brains, it’s important to note the creative aspect of the movie which may get otherwise lost. Sam Esmail delivered an M. Night Shyamalan motif, complete with artsy camera angles and oddly poor sound effects. The acting was strong across the board. The storyline was actually quite weak, even muted when we consider the events being depicted. It’s labeled as a sci-fi thriller but it’s really a drama with a few somewhat thrilling moments. I point all of this out because they needed a structurally sound movie that sufficiently carried the story so they could deliver the real payload of destructive messaging. With that said, let’s get into those three messages.

Biblical Understanding Ridiculed
Of all the flaws with this movie, this is the least important. Some would say, “Hey, leaving out a Biblical understanding of the end times is a big deal!” To those people I would remind them that this is Hollywood and nobody should be expecting or even accepting Biblical guidance from Hollywood.
They took a couple of steps toward ridiculing the Bible. These jabs were subtle and were more for driving the plot than directly attacking Biblical principles. It’s far more telling that the movie doesn’t allow the audience to entertain the idea of God’s influence in the end times.
One can argue that there was a supernatural element with the odd actions of the deer. They seemed far more knowledgeable and inexplicably courageous when surrounding the girls near the end. The fact that they kept returning to the house was left as a mystery, but clearly the director wasn’t shying away from the supernatural completely. This makes it even more conspicuous that none of the characters thought to wonder about the Biblical end times even when they were portrayed as being surrounded by a fictional version of it.
False Depiction the Crap-Hits-the-Fan Scenario
Where to begin? As usual, they depict doomsday preppers as either American-flag-waving, shotgun-holding crazy people like Kevin Bacon’s character or self-indulgent rich people who will spend the end times in a literal vault with canned foods and a huge library of DVDs.
Then, there’s the fact that being so close to the city, in this case New York City, did not result in seeing masses of people leaving. In fact, nobody apparently walked across the bridge to find safety in the nearby suburbs.
Perhaps worst of all is that they were never in any real danger. They had power and water despite a massive cyberattack that crashed planes, oil tankers, and a small army of self-driving Teslas. How ludicrous would it be for hackers to take down everything but leave electricity and running water on in an area across the river from NYC?
As more Americans become focused on self-sustainability and preparedness, this movie makes it all seem not so bad. The reality is in a scenario like the one from the movie, chaos would leave the city and find its way to the suburbs within a day, two at the most. Utilities will stop working immediately, especially considering that the cyberattack that was the catalyst for the storyline specifically targeted the grid.
Leaving the characters alone with plenty of booze and with a herd of deer as the most menacing outside element is worse than inaccurate. It’s conspicuously misleading.
Nobody Is Pulling the Strings
The primary message delivered by the movie is that all of us crazy conspiracy theorists have everything wrong. They even said our notion that the powers-that-be are pulling the strings is “lazy.”
According to “Leave the World Behind,” the globalist elites are just as lost as the rest of us other than having a heads up so they can get out of Dodge before anyone else. This is a bald-faced lie, but it’s a compelling thought that will stick with viewers for a long time.
It’s one of the most memorable scenes as Mahershala Ali’s “G.H.” character explains his interactions with an unnamed client who sounds like Dick Cheney. According to G.H., the people we think of as the bad guys are just getting a head start to reach their bunkers. Klaus Schwab, George Soros, Bill Gates, and the Bushes aren’t really bad guys in this scenario. They’re just lucky and rich enough to escape, if the movie’s primary message is to be believed.
Of course, the Obamas fall into this category as well. Convenient.
“Leave the World Behind” is getting a ton of watches from both the right and the left. On cue, conservative and alternative media took the bait and cranked up the outrage machine by invoking anti-White hatred. That was by design. Now, viewers will have the destructive seeds planted without even noticing them as they focus on the race-baiting component. But as we all should have learned by now, when a negative message is so blatant, it wasn’t really the message they wanted delivered.

We’re told the actor’s L.A. home was burglarized Wednesday evening … with LAPD responding to an anonymous call about a possible trespasser at his property at around 7 PM. Cops arrived on the scene, and conducted a search, but found no one.
But, we’re told police were back there again around 1 AM when an alarm sounded on the property … and this time officers say multiple men in ski masks were spotted on security cams smashing a window and entering the house.
According to our sources, the culprits took one firearm from the home before making a run for it. It’s unclear if anything else was taken, but Keanu was not home at the time.

And Korie noted the importance of telling their family’s imperfect and redemptive story. “You look in Scripture and over and over again, the people that God uses are not the perfect people, is not the perfect family,” she said. “It’s in our weakness that God’s glory is revealed and that we are made strong … God can use you and your story, even if your past looks like this, even if … there’s things in your story that [were] really horrible.”
Willie and Korie also discussed how Phil and Miss Kay’s early years shaped them and helped craft the story underpinning the film “The Blind.” Forgiveness, love, and the Gospel are other themes explored in the movie and elevated in the conversation. Phil’s story of finding the Lord is the centerpiece of it all, though. “Unfortunately for Phil — or, perhaps fortunately, his life continued to spin out of control, especially then when he was in the loneliness and depths of despair and everything else he was doing that actually pushed him to the Lord,” Willie said. “And sometimes that’s what it takes for a bunch of people, it was just a hit rock bottom … that’s where he was.”
]]>According to reports, “Praise Petey” is about a young girl who inherits “a human-sacrificing, blood-drinking cult whose logo has the all-seeing eye,” to quote one source.
A product of Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television Animation, “Praise Petey” is something that parents will not want their children to watch, despite bearing the Disney brand name.
Described by The Hollywood Reporter as an “adult animated comedy,” “Praise Petey” depicts a girl having to move from the big city to “a place called New Utopia” where she is charged with taking care of her deceased father’s ritualistic murder cult.
“It’s a community her father founded, only it’s not like most,” the Reporter described. “Here, everyone’s part of a cult. Even worse? They believe Petey’s their prophesied savior.”
“You being here means the prophecy of the great daughter’s return is fulfilled,” one of the characters, voiced over by actor John Cho in a fake southern accent, says in a two-minute teaser of the show.
“Is this town doing okay?” the Petey character then asks before another character, voiced over by Kiersey Clemons, responds with, “Nah, we’re starving.”
Female empowerment is of course a prominent theme in “Praise Petey”
In order to fulfill her father’s cult’s prophecy, Petey is to return to the town where his cult has a stranglehold. Petey does not want to do this, though, and instead chooses to “girlboss” her way out of it.
As usual, Petey is propped up as an independent, empowered woman who defies the patriarchy, which is admittedly evil in the context of the show’s premise. Petey takes it upon herself to remove the cult elements from her father’s town and give the community a different pathway forward.
“No more human sacrifice,” Petey, dressed in a “midsommar-like flower gown” tells the community members of New Utopia upon becoming empowered. “I have a vision for New Utopia, and it is bright!”
In other words, the evil patriarchy was ruining New Utopia, so a woman had to come in and change everything to turn it into a paradise – talk about a typical, predictable yawner from Hollywood.
“Disney is crap,” one commenter wrote, putting it plainly and simply.
“Actually, Disney is a clear-cut child abuse corporation at this point,” responded another. “Where is law enforcement?”
Like the rest of the corporate-controlled media machine, Disney remains outspokenly opposed to the new “Sound of Freedom” film starring Jim Caviezel of “Passion of the Christ,” even while it simultaneously promotes banal filth like “Praise Petey.”
“No wonder they are trying to diss ‘Sound of Freedom,'” another commenter wrote about Disney, which openly supports grooming, transgenderism, and other forms of LGBT pedophilia and perversion.
“This is just another verifier to show us how sick American and Western culture has become.”
Numerous other commenters pointed out that decent parents everywhere will stop allowing their children to consume Disney programming.
“Parents do not want their kids around these homosexual pedophile child molesters,” one said. “Disney World in Orlando is suffering. Here it is, nearly mid-July, schools are out, families are on vacation, and the streets of Disney are just about empty!”
“Probably even the kids don’t want to go after running from their perverted public schools ‘teachers,'” responded another.
