Paul Slams “Partisan” DOJ for Refusal to Investigate Fauci for the Deaths of 15 Million People https://americanconservativemovement.com/sen-paul-slams-partisan-doj-for-refusal-to-investigate-fauci-for-the-deaths-of-15-million-people/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/sen-paul-slams-partisan-doj-for-refusal-to-investigate-fauci-for-the-deaths-of-15-million-people/#respond Thu, 20 Jun 2024 04:31:38 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=207251 (Daily Signal)—Sen. Rand Paul said Tuesday the Justice Department’s refusing his requests for a perjury investigation into former federal health official Dr. Anthony Fauci is proof of a two-tiered justice system following a Senate hearing on the origins of COVID-19.

Paul, R-Ky., told The Daily Signal on Tuesday that it’s “disappointing” to see no action taken almost three years after he began demanding such a probe. His accusations stem from the former National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director’s testimony to Congress about U.S.-funded virus research in China, a central topic of Tuesday’s hearing.

Fauci testified in May 2021 that his agency never funded risky “gain-of-function” experiments at the Wuhan Institute of Virology, but Paul has repeatedly highlighted records and emails suggesting otherwise.

“If you happened to walk in the Capitol on Jan. 6, [2021], you might get 10 years in prison,” Paul said. “But if you’re responsible for funding research that led to a pandemic and killed 15 million people, and then you lied about it to Congress, then nothing happens to you.”

Paul filed a criminal referral against Fauci in July 2021 and again in July 2023 over the perjury claims. The Kentucky lawmaker told The Daily Signal that the lack of a response from federal prosecutors indicates America has “two standards of justice.”

Paul added: “In some ways, I’m very disappointed, but it’s not that I don’t expect it.” The senator blamed President Joe Biden’s attorney general, Merrick Garland, whom he said is “probably the most partisan attorney general in our history.”

Fauci did not immediately respond to a request for comment about Paul’s allegations.

Paul made the remarks shortly after virology experts testified to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The committee’s four witnesses gave varying narratives on whether COVID-19 was the result of a Wuhan lab accident or if it arose naturally among animals.

Paul said in an opening statement that Fauci and his “inner circle” acknowledged the likelihood of a lab leak in private messages that were released through litigation. “Despite these private doubts, publicly, these so-called experts and their allies were dismissing the lab-leak theory as a conspiracy,” he said.

Paul also told The Daily Signal last month that Fauci “could be indicted” for deleting emails about COVID-19’s origins to circumvent public records law.

Fauci has claimed the U.S.-funded research suspected to have caused the leak, conducted through the EcoHealth Alliance, was not technically the “gain-of-function” research lawmakers have asked him about. He testified to a House panel earlier this month that the experiments didn’t fit “the regulatory and operative definition.”

That contradicted previous testimony from National Institutes of Health Principal Deputy Director Lawrence Tabak, who said Fauci’s agency did, in fact, fund gain-of-function experiments at the high-risk Wuhan lab before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Rand Paul Teases Senate GOP Leader Run – Musk Says “I Would Support” https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-teases-senate-gop-leader-run-musk-says-i-would-support/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-teases-senate-gop-leader-run-musk-says-i-would-support/#respond Mon, 11 Mar 2024 02:44:11 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=201766 (Zero Hedge)—Republican Kentucky Senator Rand Paul on Friday hinted that he may jump into the race to become the next Senate GOP leader, and Elon Musk was quick to support the idea. Republicans must find a successor for periodically malfunctioning Mitch McConnell, who recently announced he’ll step down in November, though intending to keep his Senate seat until his term ends in January 2027, when he’d be within weeks of turning 86.

So far, the announced field consists of two quintessential establishment types: John Cornyn of Texas and John Thune of South Dakota. While John Barrasso’s name had been thrown around as one of “The Three Johns” considered top contenders, the Wyoming senator on Tuesday said he’ll instead seek the number two slot as party whip.

Paul used X to tease his potential bid for the position which — if the GOP takes back the upper chamber in November — could graduate from Minority Leader to Majority Leader. He started by telling his 5.1 million followers he’d had lots of people asking him about his interest in running…

…then followed up with a poll in which he predictably annihilated Cornyn and Thune, taking a 96% share as of Friday night, with the other two below 2% each.

Elon Musk was quick to back the idea of Paul as GOP leader, while daring Cornyn and Thune to follow Paul’s lead by throwing their names out for consideration by the Twitter-verse X-verse.

Paul has been a stalwart opponent of security-state mass surveillance, foreign interventionism — to include shoveling billions of dollars into the proxy war in Ukraine — and out-of-control spending in general. He demonstrated the latter passion on the Senate floor this week as he ridiculed the latest kick-the-can spending package:

In February, Paul used Senate rules to force his colleagues into a grueling Super Bowl weekend of votes, as he worked to derail a $95 billion foreign aid bill. “I think we should stay here as long as it takes,” said Paul. “If it takes a week or a month, I’ll force them to stay here to discuss why they think the border of Ukraine is more important than the US border.”

Don’t expect a Majority Leader Paul to ditch the filibuster — he’s been a hardy user of the legislative delay tactic. In 2013, he spoke for 13 hours to fight the nomination of John Brennan as CIA director. In 2015, he orated for 10-and-a-half-hours to oppose extension of the Patriot Act.

Among the general public, Paul is probably best known as Capitol Hill’s chief tormentor of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who was director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease during the Covid-19 pandemic. Paul says the evidence indicates the virus emerged from China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology. He’s accused Fauci and other members of the US government public health apparatus of evading questions about their funding of the Chinese lab’s “gain of function” research, which takes natural viruses and morphs them into something more dangerous. Paul has pointedly said that Fauci committed perjury in congressional hearings and that he belongs in jail “without question.”

Musk is neither the only nor the first noteworthy figure to back Paul for party leader. Just hours after McConnell announced his upcoming step-down from leadership, independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr voiced his support:

In a testament to the extent to which the establishment recoils at the libertarian-minded Paul, mainstream media outlets — which have been quick to report on other developments in the majority leader race — pretended not to notice that Paul had signaled his interest in the job. More than 24 hours after Paul’s test-the-waters tweet-fest began, not a single major outlet had brought it to the attention of their audience.

That may be his strongest endorsement yet.

NeverNikki: Rand Paul Says America CANNOT Vote for NeoCon Nikki Haley https://americanconservativemovement.com/nevernikki-rand-paul-says-america-cannot-vote-for-neocon-nikki-haley/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/nevernikki-rand-paul-says-america-cannot-vote-for-neocon-nikki-haley/#comments Fri, 12 Jan 2024 14:47:35 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=200296 Senator Rand Paul announced Friday morning that he has an opinion about the upcoming election. He did NOT endorse a candidate. Instead, he declared that one candidate in particular must never be president.

He even launched a website, NeverNikki.net.

According to the site:

I have been watching the GOP Primary closely for a while now, and I like various aspects of several candidates – Republicans like President Trump, Governor DeSantis, and Vivek Ramaswamy.

I’m interested in the ideas of some independents too, such as Bobby Kennedy.

As I look over the field, I don’t think I yet have a first choice, but I do know one thing: count me in as Never Nikki.

His thread on Twitter broke down the details of his decision.

Never Nikki. Never.

Sound off about this development on my Substack.

Rand Paul Releases Annual Report Detailing $900 Billion In Government Waste https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-releases-annual-report-detailing-900-billion-in-government-waste/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-releases-annual-report-detailing-900-billion-in-government-waste/#comments Fri, 22 Dec 2023 19:31:16 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=199636 No matter how big the federal budget is, the amount being spent always seems to be less than the government claims it needs but exponentially more than it can actually afford. Which means it’s exponentially more than we, the taxpayers, can afford. But at least that money is being spent on important things. Things we need. Things that improve our quality of life. Things like… snipping cat brain stems and making them walk on treadmills.

Man, I can already feel my quality of life improving!

No matter how much of my money the government takes from me, no matter how much companies have to raise their prices to make up for the money the government takes from them, I never get angry. I never get angry because I know that these are necessary sacrifices for the common good of my fellow Americans. I mean, how else is the government supposed to fund a study to measure how hot dog buttholes after a summertime walk?

Crippled cats and hot buttholes are just two of several extremely important things the government has spent $900,000,000,000 on, according to Rand Paul’s annual Festivus Report.

I don’t know what I’m happier to have sacrificed my money for, the transgender monkeys or the collective chunk of money larger than the GDP of most nations that the federal government spent on accident.

AI-Generated Image of Rand Paul Is So Realistic, Many Believed He Showed Up to the Senate Barefoot in a Bathrobe https://americanconservativemovement.com/ai-generated-image-of-rand-paul-is-so-realistic-many-believed-he-showed-up-to-the-senate-barefoot-in-a-bathrobe/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/ai-generated-image-of-rand-paul-is-so-realistic-many-believed-he-showed-up-to-the-senate-barefoot-in-a-bathrobe/#respond Sat, 23 Sep 2023 10:51:29 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=197024 An image generated by artificial intelligence made its rounds on social media yesterday. It depicted Senator Rand Paul barefoot in a bathrobe on the steps of Capitol Hill.

It appeared to be real to some. And considering how “based” Paul is generally considered to be, at least a few people bought it.

This is one of the many problems people are foreseeing with artificial intelligence. If it can fool many today while still in its infancy, what will it be able to do when it grows up?

Rand Paul to RINO Colleague Lindsey Graham Who Wants Ukraine in NATO: “Absolutely Not” https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-to-rino-colleague-lindsey-graham-who-wants-ukraine-in-nato-absolutely-not/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-to-rino-colleague-lindsey-graham-who-wants-ukraine-in-nato-absolutely-not/#respond Sat, 08 Jul 2023 06:09:07 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=194495 The Russian invasion of Ukraine could have been avoided. The Biden-Harris regime and NATO had told Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that they were not going to let them into the alliance, but that he needed to keep that information secret. Russia, thinking NATO was going to bring in Ukraine, invaded. The rest is history that’s unfolding before our eyes.

Did NATO and the Biden-Harris regime want Russia to invade? Zelensky used to think so as he noted in an interview on CNN shortly after the invasion started. Oddly, that video is hard to find today, scrubbed thoroughly from internet history like a server in Hillary Clinton’s bathroom.

Now, the UniParty Swamp has changed its tune, and RINO NeoCon Senator Lindsey Graham is leading the charge to pop Ukraine into NATO. As he posted on Twitter:

I will be working with Republicans and Democrats in the Senate to pass a resolution urging the admission of Ukraine into NATO. The best way to prevent future wars and promote peace is to create security guarantees that make aggressor nations think twice before starting wars.

Ukrainian NATO membership is vital to the future security of Europe and the world. I believe there is an overwhelming majority of Senators supporting this proposition.

Let’s debunk just about everything he said. The truthful part is the beginning when he said he’d be working with Republicans and Democrats, omitting that the ones he’ll work with are card-carrying members of the UniParty Swamp, which makes up most on Capitol Hill. After that statement, the lie detector rings like a church bell.

No, adding Ukraine will NOT prevent future wars nor will it promote peace. No, aggressor nations will not think twice before starting wars because NATO has demonstrated it isn’t nearly as strong as it has pretended to be for years. And no, Ukrainian NATO membership is not vital to future security of the Europe and the world.

Unfortunately, he’s also correct when he said an overwhelming majority of the Swamp will support membership despite the fact that it will exacerbate Russia even more.

One Senator who’s not part of the UniParty Swamp is Rand Paul, and he’s not happy with his colleague. Here’s what he posted to Twitter in response:

Absolutely not. This is exactly wrong – as usual – and could very well lead us to war with Russia, something no one should want.

It’s safe to say the Globalist Elite Cabal is fully in charge of the UniParty Swamp now. They’re pushing America not only to the brink of war but to the brink of full-blown collapse. Sanity must prevail if we’re to keep our nation.

Rand Paul Grills USAID Administrator Power at Senate Foreign Relations Hearing https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-grills-usaid-administrator-power-at-senate-foreign-relations-hearing/ https://americanconservativemovement.com/rand-paul-grills-usaid-administrator-power-at-senate-foreign-relations-hearing/#respond Thu, 27 Apr 2023 11:29:50 +0000 https://americanconservativemovement.com/?p=192091 Yesterday, at a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) questioned Samantha Power, Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) on the agency’s inability to turn over information requested by Republican Senators on the origins of COVID-19.

“In September of last year, I wrote Ms. Power or USAID a request asking for records from the PREDICT program. These are not classified. These are simply records of scientific research. And we want to read the grants to find out what they were doing and whether the research was dangerous or not. The response I got from your agency was USAID will not be providing any documents at this time.

“They’re just unwilling to give documents on scientific grant proposals. We’re paying for it. They’re asking for $745 million more in money, and we get no response.

“20 million people died around the world. You’re supposed to be an agency that cares about the death of people around the world. We, you know, talk about starvation and famine and 20 million people died from a virus. And you won’t give us the basic information about what grants you’re funding around the world and who you’re funding.”

“The American people think this, that because you won’t respond because you respond with a non-response, that you have something to hide. I don’t know if you have anything to hide or not. I want to see every grant proposal that had to do with coronaviruses that went to China from the U.S. government, from all facets of the U.S. government and every bit of the Biden administration is stonewalling us and will not give us the information…You are not being honest.”

Background:

While Dr. Paul had the opportunity to question Administrator Power today, this isn’t just a USAID problem of concealing information, this is a Biden administration-wide problem in which there is a concerted effort to withhold critical information from Congress on the origins of COVID-19.

Recently, Dr. Paul and more than 20 Republican Senators sent five separate letters to various members of the Biden administration requesting previous outstanding requests for agency records relating to federally funded work involving dangerous pathogens, including grant awards to EcoHealth Alliance, the Wuhan Institute of Virology, and other entities in China.

The letters were sent to Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Secretary of the Department of Human Health Services Xavier Becerra, Secretary of the Department of Defense Lloyd Austin, Acting Director of the National Institutes of Health Lawrence Tabak, and Administrator of the U.S. Agency for International Development Samantha Power.

The requested information in the letters were due back to the Senators by April 10, 2023. To date, none of the agencies have provided the Senators with the requested materials.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, Dr. Paul has sent dozens of letters to federal agencies requesting documents relating to the origins of COVID-19, gain-of-function research, and the U.S. governments culpability in funding risky virus enhancing research that likely caused COVID-19. The American people deserve transparency, and Dr. Paul will continue to leave no stone unturned in search of accountability.
