Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that the airstrike that hit civilians in Rafah was a “tragic mistake” that is being investigated.
The airstrike occurred a few hours after Hamas claimed it fired rockets from Gaza towards Israel, according to CBS News.
Gaza officials said at least 45 people were killed, including displaced Palestinians who were living in tents.
Netanyahu addressed the Israeli parliament where he said, “despite our utmost efforts not to harm innocent civilians, last night, there was a tragic mistake.
