Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg is a liar. He’s a conman. He’s everything about the Biden administration that we despise (well, other than their radical progressive policies and utter hatred for this nation that they’re supposed to serve). The latest incident of failed virtue signaling epitomizes the failures DC Democrats are experiencing as they try to keep up with the “woke” crowd.
Buttigieg was caught on video Thursday unloading a bike from an SUV just moments before riding the bike a short distance to his destination. What makes it worse than the obvious optics failure is that he wasn’t going very far to begin with; any reasonably healthy man of his age could have easily ridden the bicycle all the way. But not Buttigieg. Not DC Democrats.

The effort it took to try to stage Buttigieg’s commitment to the environment is comical. The gas-guzzling SUV that carried his precious bicycle to its staging area is the exact opposite of what environmentalists expect from progressive Democrats like Buttigieg. It’s like eating fried chicken and barbecue ribs before going to a vegan dinner.
Anytime they can take a shortcut, they will. According to The Post Millennial:
A person off camera can even be heard questioning why the Biden administration official would be wearing a suit while bike riding. Buttigieg has been at the forefront of advocating for President Joe Biden to implement new taxes on transportation, including taxing individual’s based on the amount of distance they have driven as well as increasing taxes on gas.
During Buttigieg’s hearing to become the United States Secretary of Transportation, Buttigieg was asked a question concerning the gas tax by Senator Rick Scott (R-FL), and whether he would support raising it.
This isn’t just a problem with Buttigieg. The entirety of the Biden administration participates in similar activities. They plan out what they do based upon perceptions from the left and optics put on display for them by mainstream media. But their actions indicative of liars and cheats.
Whether it’s Dr. Fauci pulling down his mask when he thinks cameras are off, Gavin Newsom eating out while average people are forced to stay home, or Buttigieg transporting his bike in an SUV, the left focuses on optics over actions.
