Campbell County in Wyoming is one of the most conservative areas in the nation. Joe Biden received under 10% of the vote in the county during the 2020 election. One would think if there’s a place where public school children are not indoctrinated into woke thinking and exposed to adult perversions, it would be Campbell County.
Nope. Even there, the public school system is rife with radical teachers, administrators, and school board members who have no problem filling the libraries with filth and filling the students’ heads with Cultural Marxist ideologies. Included among the “educational materials” available to students are tutorials on how to have the most enjoyable gay sex, and that’s just one of many complaints parents have tried to voice.
Unfortunately, they’re no longer allowed to voice their complaints. Bob Unruh from our news partners at WND News Center has the story, followed by my commentary:
Commissioners in one Wyoming county where parents have raised objections – 85 so far – to what they consider pornographic material being made available to children in the public library – apparently think they’ve solved the dispute.
They are refusing to accept any public comments at their meetings. On any issue. It seems they tried to ban comments on just the library and its problems, but were warned that it’s illegal to censor statements based on their content, so took the dramatic step of refusing to allow any public comments.
The details come from MassResistance, whose Wyoming members have been instrumental in raising community concerns over the presence of objectionable materials and their availability to children. The organization explained the commissioners “did not hide their reason: The majority of the commissioners do not want to hear any more complaints or criticism (from Wyoming MassResistance parents) about the lurid pornographic books in the public library children’s and teen’s sections.”
The report explained it was on Oct. 15 that Campbell County commissioners announced “no public comments about the library books would be allowed.”
“But then, apparently, the concept of banning a particular type of speech seemed problematic. So at their next meeting, on October 19, the Commission voted 3-2 to ban all public testimony at their meetings,” the report said.
The report explained, “The library books in question tell young teenage boys and girls that ‘gay’ sex is desirable and instruct them in graphic detail how to engage in a variety of perverted homosexual and lesbian sex acts. Some of the books overtly encourage girls to become lesbian. Another promotes the ‘how-to’ for girls to “transition” to boys by having breast removal surgery, taking male hormones to grow facial hair, and …”
Parents have protested, and the commissioners have insisted they go through a formal “challenge” process for each objection.
“That is an insulting sham. The same library employees who brought the books into the library decide on the ‘challenge.’ So far, there have been over 85 formal challenges filed by parents in the community with the library. The challenges have all been denied; not a single book has been removed from the library,” the report said.
Documents obtained by MassResistance through a Freedom of Information process even revealed that one county official suggested bringing police in to commission meetings to “control upset parents,” the report said.
WND previously reported on a criminal complaint filed with the sheriff’s office by two parents over the books. They charged that while Wyoming law exempts schools and libraries from prosecution for displaying obscene material, the “law does not exempt them” if they encourage children to engage in sexual relations, which is a crime.
However, when local authorities who would have been required to defend the library in such a case called in a special counsel from an adjacent county to review the case, he declined to take any action, claiming that the objectionable books might have “scientific” value.
Parents Hugh and Susan Bennett had submitted copies of four of the books with their request that charges be filed under the state law that penalizes those to solicit “anyone less than the age of 14” to engage in sexual acts.
The Bennetts had pointed out “This Book is Gay” teaches children how to participate in homosexual and lesbian acts, “How Do You Make a Baby” includes pornographic drawings, “Doing It: Let’s Talk About Sex” promotes “sexual pleasure for children,” “Sex is a Funny Word” coaches 8-year-olds to “be comfortable getting naked and being touched,” and “Dating and Sex: A Guide for the 21st Century Teen Boy” teaches how to enjoy pornography.
Jonathan G. Lange, a pastor of a church on the other side of Wyoming, wrote just at the same time at the Federalist about the problem facing parents. Lange, the leader of the Wyoming Pastors Network, pointed out the American Library Association “recognizes no age limits on what children can access — either in print, video, audio, or online.”
He explained that means the ALA opposes restrictions on porn, citing filters on computers as well as the books, “Doing It,” “The V-Word” and “This Book is Gay.”
“Unless you read the above-named titles for yourself, you will likely not believe what unsuspecting children can encounter in your local library. These titles would be perfectly at home in the seediest ‘adult book store.’ Who but the most jaded parents would dream that a library might display them in the children’s section at the eye-level of your average seven-year-old?”
And the libraries? He explained, “By attractive, kid-friendly displays, they invite curious children to read what your local newspaper editor is ashamed to print.”
He warned American libraries are turning the Constitution on its head.
“Every county and school district library in America could be indecently exposing children to explicit content. Most libraries endorse and subscribe to the ALA’s twisted version of the First Amendment. Through guidance such as the Library Bill of Rights, The Freedom to Read Statement, and the Freedom to View Statement, the ALA treats parents shielding the innocence of their own children as violators of the First Amendment,” he said.
Two Choices for Parents
In an ideal situation, we could fix the public school system. I’d like that. I went to public school. My first child spent some time in public school before we had the means for homeschool and private school. But as we all know, this isn’t an ideal situation in America.
Does that mean we should give up? Yes and no. Yes, it means that parents who have the means or who are willing to make some major sacrifices should consider putting their kids in private school or even better, to homeschool. But that doesn’t change the fact that we still need to make monumental adjustments to the public school system. Just because we may take our own kids out of public schools doesn’t mean we are immune to the deleterious impact they have on our communities.
We may look at it as two choices, but one choice should already be made. Whether our kids are in public school or not, we must ramp up the fight to stop the indoctrination of all children into a woke, Neo-Marxist, perverse, America-hating worldview. The only thing that keeps the Democrat Party alive is decades of brainwashing in schools. If they didn’t produce leftists by jamming them full of horrible ideas in their youth, the Democrat Party would be tiny.
That doesn’t mean there would be a lot more Republicans. It means we would have independent thinkers who register as Independents. I’m okay with that because in the war of ideas, I’d bet heavily on conservative perspectives winning over young people who haven’t been indoctrinated.
What’s left is the choice of leaving our children in public schools or pulling them out at the earliest opportunity. If we’re going to leave them there, we must make changes. And if parents in a deep red area like Campbell County, Wyoming, are unable to express their objections to the school boards, then the school boards need to change.
More parents are realizing that the various sins perpetrated in schools start with school boards. We have to latch onto this realization and fight to get better people on the boards. But it doesn’t end there. We also need to do what the Cultural Marxists have been doing for decades. We need to get more conservatives to be teachers and school administrators. How we do that, I have no ideas. I just know it’s something that needs to happen.
We have the truth on our side. Despite mainstream media gaslighting with claims there is no Critical Race Theory being taught in schools, we know better. We also know that our kids are being exposed to hideous materials in school. Some may say that this is unavoidable since the internet allows kids to get their hands on the material anyway, but there needs to be a separation from this disgusting material in our schools. Education should be treated as sacred, and that means keeping filth out of schools.
This is a fight for future generations, but it’s also a fight for right now. Unless we want more people like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez making decisions for the nation in her twenties, we need to fix the school system immediately.
Yes, We Need Your Help
I hate being “that guy” who asks people to donate because I think our conservative news network is so crucial, but here I am…
When I left my cushy corporate job in 2017, I did so knowing that my family would have to make sacrifices. But I couldn’t continue to watch the nation slip into oblivion and was inspired by President Trump’s willingness to fight the good fight even at his own personal expense. What I didn’t realize then is that conservative media would be so heavily attacked, canceled, and defunded that the sacrifices would be extreme.
Many in this nation are struggling right now even though we weren’t struggling just a few years ago. I’m not alone. But I wake up every morning and operate the sites we’ve been able to build because there’s really no other choice. I refuse to be beholden to Big Tech like so many other conservative news outlets, which is why you won’t see Google ads here. With that said, it’s often challenging to pay the bills and it’s even harder to expand so we can get the America First message out to a wider audience.
The economic downturn has forced me to make a plea for help. Between cancel culture, lockdowns, and diminishing ad revenue, we need financial assistance in order to continue to spread the truth. We ask all who have the means, please donate through our new GiveSendGo. Your generosity is what keeps these sites running and allows us to expand our reach so the truth can get to the masses. We’ve had great success in growing but we know we can do more with your assistance.
We currently operate:
- NOQ Report
- Conservative Playlist
- Uncanceled News
- Based Underground
- Truth Based Media
- Five other conservative news sites
I would even be willing to entertain investments and partnerships at this stage. I’ve turned them down in the past because editorial purity is extremely important. I’ll turn them down again if anyone wants us to start supporting RINOs or avoid “taboo” topics like voter fraud, vaccines, or transgender supremacy. But I’d talk to fellow America First patriots who want to help any (or all) of our 10 news sites. Hit me up at jdrucker (at) substack (dot) com if you’re interested.
For those who have the means and just want to help keep the mission of spreading a conservative, Christian message to the nation, please consider a generous donation.
