In case you weren’t aware, the left (and unfortunately many on the right) rely on the voting population to be ignorant. They need us to be ignorant of our rights. They need us to be ignorant about what’s actually happening in the world. Luckily for them, their control of both educational indoctrination and mainstream media propaganda helps them achieve their goals. Too many in America are, sadly, ignorant.
There may be those who disagree with this premise. It would be easy to say that the reason they disagree with the premise is because they’ve been indoctrinated and bought into propaganda, and to be fair that probably wouldn’t be far off from the truth. But seeing how readily millions of Americans are willing to allow government to suppress our constitutional rights because of a health scare should be proof-positive that the authoritarians’ goal of keeping us under their thumb is being both tested and enacted today. The coronavirus is the ultimate smokescreen behind which they’re able to assert control over an ignorant population.
Some may argue that it’s a matter of pure fear and not ignorance. That argument would be incorrect because ignorance is required to spread so much fear. By no means am I suggesting the coronavirus is not something we should be worried about. But it requires ignorance for people to be made to believe that driving in their cars or parking at a church will help spread the disease. It requires disinformation to convince people that surfing alone in the ocean is viable grounds for arrest. It takes a very strong level of propaganda to make millions of people beholden to and dependent on government because of mandatory shutdowns that, in at least some of the cases, make absolutely no sense.
To punctuate this premise, let’s turn to an interesting post on Reddit. The far-left social news site is so infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome, they’ve effectively demolished r/the_donald, the biggest right-leaning subreddit. But r/conservative still exists and a pinned post from yesterday caught my attention. It details an email and other intriguing finds that point to the type of authoritarianism we’re seeing today. It wasn’t just any email, either. It was from Clinton administration alum and current radical progressive movement leader Bill Ivey. The recipient: Clinton campaign chief John Podesta. This was part of the Wikileaks drop from 2016 that implicated Podesta and others in enough scandals to keep Donna Brazile busy throughout the remainder of election season.
With all of the controversies surrounding the email leaks, it’s no wonder the telling ideological quip from Ivey to Podesta went unnoticed by many. But in light of what we’re seeing with the rise of coronavirus authoritarianism, the strategy comments between two hyper-leftist ringleaders has newfound significance. Here’s the quote from the email that should concern all patriotic Americans:
I’m certain the poll-directed insiders are sure things will default to policy as soon as the conventions are over, but I think not. And as I’ve mentioned, we’ve all been quite content to demean government, drop civics and in general conspire to produce an unaware and compliant citizenry. The unawareness remains strong but compliance is obviously fading rapidly. This problem demands some serious, serious thinking – and not just poll driven, demographically-inspired messaging. [emphasis added]
Let’s break the highlighted part down piece-by-piece. They are content to demean government. Some may wonder why those in government would want to be demeaned. The reason is because people don’t pay attention to something they don’t respect and the authoritarians desperately need the people to not be paying attention to them.
It’s obvious why dropping civics and producing an unaware and compliant citizenry would benefit them. It’s still shocking to the soul to see our leaders talking in such terms. Yes, they hate us. That’s why they need us unaware and compliant. Good ol’ civics courses might allow us to understand the attack on our freedoms that we’re seeing today. It also might make us realize we do not have to comply with unconstitutional mandates. They definitely do not want us to know that.
The last part is most disturbing and clearly in play today. As a nation, we’re politically and civically unaware. Ask your neighbor to name someone on the local city council or who their state representative is. Heck, ask them to name the Secretary of State or the gist of the 10th Amendment. No, an unaware citizenry is not Big Government’s problem. Compliance, on the other hand, is.
At least it was. Today, the coronavirus crisis has us bending over backwards to comply. It’s not everyone; I don’t want to insult those who do not deserve to be lumped in with the millions who are infected with coronavirus sheepishness. Unfortunately, most people are.
This is arguably one of the biggest calls to action we’ve seen for the American Conservative Movement to rise and for the Saving America Conference on Saturday to be attended. This nation needs a wake up call. We’ve been snoozing for too long.
